Decades Before Cronut, There Was ZIPPY's Flaky Donut!

Enjoying the Zippy's Chantilly Puff and reminiscing the Flaky Donut.
Lot's of parking! One of the few places in Kalihi where we didn't have to circle around for parking without fear of being towed.
We had a quick stop here for coffee and a pastry while touring the island and exploring Kalihi.
My wife had not had a flaky donut in a decade and we also compared the Zippy's Chantilly Puff with Liliha Bakery's Cocoa Puff. Both are good. The Chantilly Puff is a little denser and a little less filling. But these days we don't need the extra calories! The overall taste is there if we have a Cocoa Puff craving.
On the mainland, we have to fly to Hawaii to get the Coco Puff. But there's a Zippy's in Las Vegas, so that's an option that probably saves a few thousand miles. Heheh!
The Flaky donut was a real treat. It pre-dates the Cronut by a few decades...and you don't have to wait in a long line on a NYC street!

The Kalihi location is very clean, cool and well kept. The friendly service counter knows how to move customers and get your order quckly.
Our only issue was the bathroom lock is tricky. The key got stuck when unlocking the door. I finally got it out by jiggling and pushing IN, then turning a little before pulling out.

I love zippy's! When I'm in Hawaii I rush to zippy's for the zippac. Oh no. Sorry forgot Ono

Not sure how technical you are, but get a noise canceling mic for you camera when filming in public. Background noise can be annoying, just a thought.
