It sounds soooo good. Congrats on the DJI Moto Vlogging setup!

Your audio is superb! Great video man. All the reasons against the GoPro stated in this video is why I’m ditching my hero 10 as well and going with the action 4. For motovlogging specifically it’s just much better and less hassle.

I ordered the Insta360 Ace Pro after watching a few videos on it. Later that day I discovered the Osmo Action 4 and the wireless Mic2, so I ordered it in the Adventure kit. I couldn't cancel my Ace Pro order, so I returned it the day after it arrived. For motovlogging, the Action 4 looks like a much better setup, and is a lot more compact that the GoPro with Media Mod as well as the Ace Pro.

I'm wondering how rezistant is that front touchscreen against high speed impact with insects, small stones, etc?

I cant find anywhere to set the audio level, no matter where I put the mic, the wind and engine drown me out. Ive tried diff mic adapters, even now have the wireless dji mics that connect directly to the camera, but without using the reciever, I cant find anyway to reduce mic input 😢 Get great video, but my audio is always trash.

I'm still getting varied results from good to bad wind noise even with the deadcat inside my helmet -- but that's at speeds of 90kph+
So to set the gain with DJI mics, you can swipe down on the receiver screen and then scroll til the 'transmitter settings' comes into view and from there reduce the gain, I use -9 at one time and it was good under 70-80kph, but I had to set the receiver gain to -6 also. I've also had the transmitter set to -12 but that is useless at higher speed.
The helmet matters and mine is HJC i100 full-flip, I think it's too noisy at 80+kph. I'm also new to every bit of this, so look at this reply as just an idea to try

@@RonniesRambles Sooo.... 😅...kept searching, found a audio overview and saw a guy changing gain lvls, just says gain on screen and a huge bar on the camera screen. So got me to looking in the camera, still couldnt find it, except the part under wireless mic. Then though about it, everything he did, he had a mic plugged in. So I connected my wireless dji mic, and poof, under settings-pro-mic there was now gain adjustment. Wireless goes to -12, plugged in goes to -20. At -12 with wireless and a deadcat inbetween cheekpiece and helmet, very little wind, and just a bit engine at 70mph. So finally got it. Tomorrow gonna be out and just did my wired mic, gonna try at -14/-15 which I think might be my sweet spot im looking for with my Shoei.
      Thanks for the reply!!

Haven’t tried cheap Amazon ones, of course DJI one will work. I’ve tried senhiser and a couple other brands I can’t remember. Was a while ago. There’s a lot of options tho I’m sure a bunch of them work but not all

I do completely agree about reliability issues with Gopro. I just don't understand how you think the Action 3 is so poor, but the 4 is great?
There is a super wide setting on the 3, and the stability is great.
Looks like the 4 is improved in some areas. The gain control is nice but we record audio separately.
By the way the Action 3 do overheat shutdown and I'll bet the 4 will in extreme heat conditions filming in 4K. Hopefully we'll add the 4 to our camera set up but won't be rushing to sell the 3.
In my opinion, the image quality of the latest Gopro is still superior, but I refuse to buy another Gopro for the reasons you've stated.

    • @captain_midlife
      @captain_midlife  Рік тому

I don’t think I said the 3 was poor? I just didn’t like the colours as much and I wanted the 10bit DLog. And most importantly the extra gain control for the mic. Otherwise the 3 was great.

Great video. I too have the DJI Action 4 & GoPro12. Although both are great cameras each have short comings for Motorcycle use. The GoPro gives the more realistic FOV (records what your eyes see). The DJI Action4 is a very wide FOV and flattens the image. NOTE in the above video how cars passing stretch as they leave the frame. Also on the Action4, objects appear further than they really are. At 6.10 in the video where your following the van, you are much closer to that van than the video shows. At 7.14 the scenery is flattened. The Action4 is easier to live with and produces nice looking colours and sharp pictures but the GoPro is a better representation of what you see riding. Also, the Gopro Hero12 can be mounted in any orientation while recording at 4K 60FPS. The GoPro remote is also better than the Action 4 remote as the record indicator and display can be seen in daylight.

No offense, love the effort, but the vid is kinda boring, rambling a lot and very monotone voice, you could have better editing and maybe placing some text on the screen or pics of the cameras and things you’re talking about would make it a lot easier to watch. Again, just giving my opinion as feedback, keep it up!

Can’t argue with that. I’m definitely monotone haha. Thanks for watching
