This is a great little town. It has grown so much and is very nice - clean and safe. I'd recommend this place to move to if you want to live in a smaller rural town in Alberta but have it big enough so you have everything!
The demand for housing and rent is very high with a lot of new people moving to Alberta. In addition many taxes on these properties have gone up as well as insurance etc. BUT you are right, it is bat-shit crazy when a basement is renting for $3000 in rural Alberta. Many of these houses have doubled and tripled in price since 2020. The problem is that people in Ontario or BC sell their property and they see something here half the price and don't care what they pay - they even pay more than asking price in some cases - and that fuels greed. It is very difficult to live here now. Check my newest video that explains a bit more: ua-cam.com/video/4AvtwrmxNoI/v-deo.htmlsi=SOcHH0uPDOBA4hrX

Yes, you can see how things like Walmart, Canadian Tire and other big retailers have moved into the strip.
I love the old train they keep there. You can even ride them which is awesome.
The train is a lot of fun. they do a christmas train too coming up
It is a lot of fun!
Looks like the downtown is super busy
Yes, unlike some other prairie towns this one is actually pretty active!
Love it! 🤠
It is a great little town!
Thank you for sharing we want to visit in the summer to go on the prairie train
You will have a blast!
I was just looking at moving and every town or city in Alberta has gone batching crazy on how much they want for shelter
So many people moving here, that is why. Demand and greed. Two years ago some of these houses were half price of what they are now. It is stupid.
