I don't think I did a follow up video - I believe I DID do an update in one of my podcasts though. I'm so glad you asked. I'll do a follow up video and let you know the state of my Everest.
Cool-looking forward to the update. The new one comes with a push-button clasp but still want to know if the original clasp can fit an after market bracelet.
I have the Commando (PRS-47)...managed to grab that first batch of black dialed ones. The stock bracelet is not for me....... I have put mine on an Uncle Seiko Z199 bracelet, originally for the Seiko SKX013.......fits like a dream.....I absolutely love this combination.
Nice! Those are great pieces! I now have the clasp fixed on the Everest, had Tic Toc clean up the inside of the crystal and bend the hook a bit so the clasp is a tighter close. I'm waiting for more stock of the StrapsCo Oyster style - I really want the glidelock clasp!
Taking the movement out and cleaning the crystal is a five minute job for anyone. Really, it's simple. I would have contacted Smiths and requested a new clasp, I am sure they would of helped
I've contacted them, basically I have to buy a new bracelet, they ship with the new clasp, so I'll be doing that in the next month or so. Thanks for the suggestion!
Shame about your problems it's a cracking watch homage or not, a good 1016 is $20k & they haven't made it for 30 years so I give it a pass. I'm also surprised you haven't put it on a strap yet, it's possibly the biggest strap monster in my collection, I genuinely think it would work on anything. Hopefully with your improved clasp & clean crystal it will burrow itself into your affections like mine has, I think out of all my watches I stare at the Everest the most, it has a mesmerising simplicity I can't seem to get over.
@@KillingTimeWithNorman It may be just the ones I got but I didn't find them that helpful, in the end I just improved my technique with a normal springbar tool to the point I can do most bracelets without losing the will to live now, most. :)
Great review. Great watch. Probably. I've tried to buy it three times but I just wasn't quick enough. Small point re title though; is your intention to mislead us in this video? Sorry. Word pedant here. Mislead is present tense...Misled is past tense. Lead is a heavy metal.
@@KillingTimeWithNorman I PROMISE you,I have both the Everest and the speedbird, and maybe it's just my love of asthetics? But on the NATO strap for me,the speedy gets more of my wrist time,it's an almost perfect homage of the IWC Mk 11, including the soft iron cage for anti magnetic protection and a fixed crystal to withstand 0.4 negative G's....I love both, but the speedy is my daily wear. 👍👍👍
The BB36 is great looking for sure - and more unique than just being an homage. With the Everest I was actually going for an homage - I love the aesthetics, but I don't think I would ever have the Explorer as a grail... But who knows.
@@KillingTimeWithNorman Just got the Everest, aesthetically a beautiful watch it scratches the itch for low expenditure and seems in demand being sold out of 200 examples each time they appear on TimeFactors....Explorer I has been on my list for year's just wish I had purchased a year or so ago...waiting now via the AD (yeh right). BB36 in my view is not a good looking watch looks cheap and i was underwhelmed when I tried one on.... not worth the rrp and I do not think it will be a sought after 'investment' piece
Is there a follow up video?

Here is a link to my review of the Zeno ZEX ua-cam.com/video/obN-5O0X4sk/v-deo.html
Great! Thanks for that.
I picked up the Zeno ZEX which is basically a super clone homage of the 1016
Ooo ok. I'll check those out, don't THINK I've seen them yet.

Hi, Thanks for the info. I have one question if I may.... Did the Uncle Seiko Z199 bracelet fit with the supplied hollow end links?
@@philipnunn1816 yes it did....hollow end links.......for whatever reason my Z199 fit without any issues
@@LAVA1980 Thanks for the confirmation

I suuck at putting bracelets back on, so before I attempt it, gonna get one of those removal tools spec for bracelets lol

Oh! Ooops - thanks for that catch on the title :)
Said it before and I'll say it again, try the 36mm speedbird and pop it on a NATO,you'll absolutely adore it 👍👍👍
That Speedbird does look great! Hmm, maybe after I go for a couple spendy pieces I'm saving for, I just may have to check it!

Killing Time With Norman awesome stuff… I’d like a new clasp for the smiths too.
@@TheGamblersHand I'll do a follow up when it gets back home.
Killing Time With Norman appreciate it Norman 🙌🙌
This sounds like throwing good money after bad. In my opinion, the Tudor BB36 is hands down the best version of this watch for the money.
