That was a sweet flight! In my opinion, this jet is a good candidate for LOTS of expo. Hope you fared well in the storm. We got some damage over here on the east side of FL.
One of my all time favorites! I crashed mine after about 300 flights on a hand launch haha. It scrapped the grass and pulled the aileron pushrod loose and that was the end. It was so fast without gear! Good times!
@@braddarnell2498 achso.... I thought the only damage was the aileron. So the aileron failed and you came down with a good portion of speed. I bough mine with and repaired fuselage and probably it was a similar crash. She still flies very nice although she isn´t pretty as new. but for $120 it was OK to give her a test :)
Hi Greg, nice flight and some super speedy passes that make me sweat thinking I would be flying and trying to see her on my small mobile display hahaha. Cool aerobatics and shenanigans :P Also coming down on that high alpha. But don´t be afraid, me as a beginner could do that touch the tail on the gras on the F-16teens and 1-2m above ground on the Mirage. She is so stable it´s unbelievable. This weekend I must get a couple of new flights on her! I´m still on the high of my first and only flight with her :P I flew with 3300mAh, super light but under 3 minutes. I have a 4500mAh HRB also, I´ll try that maybe out. You clocked 133mph on this one. For me she seems faster. On my old heavily repaired Avanti V1 70mm I clocked 125mph on a dive downwind. I´ll check to too. BUT yesterday I hold my hand out of the car "just" at 124 mph and that wind pressure is stupid high. I´m still wondering how this foam planes can hold their wings on and how much energy that motor must have to fight that forces! crazy...
I think your approaches were coming from too high. Also your elevator throws might be a little low, or your cg might be too far forward. Deltas love an aft cg, relative to the recommended cg. That way that tail will sit lower in high alpha, and the power will carry more of the lift. This induces more drag so you can fly a lot slower.
@@FatGuyFliesRC that's the key. Too far will still be controllable with enough expo, but you'll wind up smacking the tail on the runway and bouncing. Just be gentle pushing that pack back. With the reversing, you shouldn't have too many problems. I'd definitely say be gentle on the elevator until you're comfortable with a new battery position. Maybe even put some colored tape to mark the position you are testing and do a few test packs until you find something you like. Too far forward isn't a bad thing, but it will be a lot harder to control on that landing because the speed is going to be higher. It's all a balance. Edit: also make sure you're comfortable using that throttle to descend and maintain altitude rather than elevator.
Your advice on the ailerons is dead on correct. Lower those rates or you’ll be picking up the pieces. I think mine was like 50 percent and 50 expo. It is a high alpha beast!
Fat guy all the best with the hurricane,, storm.. in australia we dont get alot of that.. a little up north.... so again good luck.. luv ya channel.. and luv ya politicaly incorrect name(fat guy) the young ones way to soft.. thanx craig from down under😊
Thanks so much, storm is here right now at 3:25am in central florida, lost power and internet many times but back up now. Storm shifted away so very fortunate. So far all I can tell in damage is the soffit (no sure what you call it there) the underside of the roof that sticks out from the house , some of it has partially broken free and is battering against the house as I type. Sounds like somebody hitting the house with a club. And yes I am proud to be a fat guy, even though for health reasons I have lost over 70lbs since I started the channel. As far as calling myself FAt Guy , why not ? That belley and man boobs represents a large investment in food and money. It did not happen overnight....lol
@@FatGuyFliesRC That’s the spirit 😂 Well done with the weight loss…another sound investment. Hope it’s just the soffits (I’m guessing Brits and Aussies use the same name for them) and no other damage. Just come in from flying a scratch built powered glider - beautiful sunset over the strip. Cheers, Bob.
@@FatGuyFliesRC Hi Greg, I hope your family and friends and the house (and of course that full of "foam" Hangar :P ) could endure the storm well and have just few damages to deal with. Are you I mean the folk normally in that region good insured for this type of meteorological phenomena? Because pictures of totally broken houses come I think every summer and that´s live changing I suppose :( For your Channel tittle: good you are proud of it and it shouldn´t have a negative tone. And it surely was a great investment in food or saving in better food to invest in the Hangar. Or eating late at night after working in the Hangar hahaha But it´s super that you have lost so many pounds. I was about to comment that; now it´s more like FIT GUY FLIES R C :)
Man what a fun machine!!!
Very nice plane
I think so too!

I am going to increase the elevator throws and the expo and try more high alpha.

It just a great fun plane no matter what.
but that doesn´t sound too bad for a fast repair :)
@@ficosk8 NO, i went on up in the air and no control, it went in hard.

Cool
I saw that there was a few tornado warnings for your area today. Just hoping you and the Mrs. are ok
We are , were just going to ride it out like we have for many years now. Lights are starting to flicker now at 9pm.

As I fly her more the more I agree, the cg needs to be a little further back. It can handle it.

Yes it will drillbit if your not ready.
I was on 5mm which was 45% I think and still pretty fast roll rate. I´m wondering how she does on 100%. But I´ll let test that someone else xD
