    Hi doctor, I'm from the UK and had an MRI. they told me my mcl is partially torn but didn't say what grade. The actual injury happened in July but I'm inly dealing with it now in May. I carried on playing basketball throughout that time until the pain got unbearable. I started wearing a knee brace early May and the pain isn't the unless I play sports. As of today since i haven't been told what to do I'm going to follow the 6 week plan for a grade 2 tear. Thanks for the video ❤

    My son recently injured his MCL tubing last week. He will be getting an MRI next week. He can walk without crutches. I will keep you posted on the MRI results. I am really interested in a solid rehabilitation plan based on the severity of the injury. Thanks for the video.

    Hello sir namaste, i injured my mcl ligament. Initially i followed RICE method, after 2 weeks it turned normal. I dont know its due to ligament injury because it just came out suddenly when i got up from the chair. My knee used to be stiff for 4 days before injury. Since it went normal, i went out nd all of a sudden i injured again. I followed the same method nd felt beter after 2 weeks. Visited doctor. He tested . Did a valgus stres test. I got pain. He gave medicines for a week. Actually the pain and swelling increased after he did valgus stres test. Its been 1 month , i have been using tendofly tablet twice a day, swelling got reduced mostly but still there a little bit. Feel like tightness when i stand straight below the inner side of the knee where mcl attaches to shin bone. I am following ur rehab excercises feeling far beter. Thanq so much for ur time and effort sir. Could u please help me sir?

      Your symptoms could be due to pes anserine bursitis which is basically where the hamstring attaches to the medial side of the tibia. Rehab exercises for MCL will still help.

    Hi Dr Srikanth, I'm 30 year old and play sport on daily basis to stay active. Recently I got an knee injury twisted inward while playing soccer. Its has been 2 weeks now, first 2-3 days, I would feel the joint loosen, then I followed RICE and still following. It's getting better day by day. I'm able to do squads and other regular leg moment. The main concern is I still have the Meniscus area swollen and it has been 2 weeks. If I'm active or give stress like walking its getting better or else I can see the swelling if I'm giving more rest.
    Questions: How long does the swelling stay, is it good or bad. Is the swelling helping to recover?
    What all I can do other than RICE approach and taking ibuprofen.
    I'm using Hinge ROM knee brace while walking with unlocked. I do have hinge brace as well. Shall I continue with the ROM brace or move to hinge brace. Please advice, it would be much helpful.
    Thanks in advance.

      Have you seen doctor? I am worried about your cartilage if the swelling is persistent.

    My daughter injured her knee during volleyball, we will not be able to get in to an orthopedic for 2 weeks post injury. It’s been almost a week since injury. When should she start ROM exercises.

      Typically, in children with a knee injury, we may have concerns about growth plate injuries, but these types of injuries are uncommon. If there is no swelling after the injury, the likelihood of a catastrophic injury is low, although it can occur. It is always important to consult with a doctor in these situations. If the person is able to walk after the injury, it is more likely that it is not a serious injury. In this case, it is suggested to focus on range of motion exercises as soon as possible. Even if there is a concern for an ACL or MCL injury, it is still safe to exercise range of motion as tolerated. I hope this answers your question.

    Hi doctor, what do you recommend about healing my mcl sprain? I got it from my jogging, and its been two weeks now.

    • @srikanthnithyanandammd

      Unlikely to be MCL sprain just from jogging itself without an acute injury. Have you seen your doctor for evaluation?

    I appreciate the video, however, it seems to be solely for the younger more athletic person. I'm 67 & need to lose weight. I was losing until I had this grade 2 mcl tear. I'm hoping for rehab that will help me. I still feel some pain at the bottom inside of my knee, below the kneecap.

    • @srikanthnithyanandammd
      @srikanthnithyanandammd  Місяць тому

      MCL ligament sprain should not cause swelling inside the knee. I would be worried about your cartilage that might be causing the swelling. i would recommend checking an ortho or sports medicine specialist who can do a complete exam and may need an MRI depending on the exam findings
