February 2022, almost a year and half ago, we travelled to Renmark in South Australia to compete in the 2022 Dinghy Derby.
With one of the twins out of commission due to a hip injury and Justin having to train a brand new swinger, this was definitely a challenging adventure to say the least.

Is there a boat available here in the u.s. that is similar to your race boats?
Lego's are cool, but got to get him a FPV drone. He can practice while he's down, and when better, will be able to chase you and get some epic video.

If you go back and watch our Dinghy Derby episode from season 4 we kinda go into it a bit. The A class boats have an electric trim switch so they can trim the motor up and down while racing. There's regulations around the type of props you can use too.
I guess the fishing is a little slow for a couple days, after this event, in those creeks LOL

ok i'm curious, i see times when you guys are running in the wake of a boat ahead of you and times where you avoid it, so does the wake of a boat in front of you hinder or improve your boat's performance? like is there a drafting effect or does the prop not work as efficiently in the disturbed water?
It can go either way, but when you get stuck in the wash you loose steering, that’s how I hit the tree 🤦♂️

I’m American and don’t know much about this type of racing , the motors are 30 hp Yamahas ? Why aren’t mercury motors used ?
