I think this shows that cactus jack doesn’t understand how the underground works. Artists have to capitalize on their clout instantly like yeat did but they treated faygo like he was already mainstream. It’s unfortunate cause if he would have dropped a year ago while he was the guy then who knows where he’d be at right now.

Completely deserved, Travis Label is a walking L. The album had no faygo originality in it. Production was boring. Poorly advertised & promoted. Such a shame because faygo has such potential hopefully he’ll drop sooner rather than later and switch the sound up and prove everyone wrong

@@a1juni it doesn't apply to every artist. carti has been taking a 2 year break after his 3 year waited album WLR. it's not only because of the industry moving faster, but also because many artists are replaceable because their music is. you can find another artist in them, which may not be your perception, but it's how the label thinks and how most consumers think as well

I agree that looking at the numbers is important as Hip Hop is a competitive Genre, but its sad that a lot of people will judge the music based on the sales. Personally Pink Heartz is one of my favourite drops of the year, had that shit on Loop since it dropped

It took me 2 listens to really start liking it and it has a few of my favourite songs right now I think it’s a solid album.

I don’t think people realize how important a major label can be. So much so that a artist like Chris Brown sold 77k without one. Personally I think around 10k is cool for a artist around faygos size.

When we talk about being an independent artist you need to remove the money he’s made off his his career out of your perception. You don’t need a label to make millions , your need one to SALE millions. Don't buy into that "fully independent" crap it does not whole the same weight it once did you'll have artist who won't sign but distribute their music through major labels. The very few artist who are 100% independent do not have major labels backing them or have mainstream media promote them heavily on the radio.

He’s most likely 50-70% indie & 30-50% label artist. He signed with cactus jack which is a label, if he signed a distribution deal he still got an advance, & resources from trav which is funding. If he did sign with stem for distribution as well that plays into his 50-70% indie percentage. Stems contracts is 10%, which leaves him with 40-60% as an artist which is not bad for this album & for the future. First week don’t matter, it’s the longevity. Depending on his contract with cactus varies so if he didn’t give up half to trav 60% is decent but it’s not 100%. If he gave trav half & getting 40% , he sold out & basically seen money but it’s not even half which is horrible although it’s money.

Sofaygo just dropped his debut of if it and didn’t do well. Faygo should take the criticism from the fans and big plats and improve from it in his next future music. I can’t say it’s too late for sofaygo. He got some time. He still doing well and was able to get a million or close to a million streams on PH. I don’t he should go back to his old sound even if the fans say he should it wouldn’t be good. He just needs to move on and make big moves like drop more or collab with other artists. Pink Heartz first half was good songs like Me too, Going Back, Hell yeah and transparency are really good. I guess people weren’t messing with the slow vibes. I mess with songs like price, fasho, and price. I think they were expecting something like Babyjack which imo is better than pink heartz. Just like I said it’s never too late for him if he’s willing to improve off instead of going back to his old sound.

Songs like Gear 2 and Chrome are fast-paced and Faygo raps/sings with so many vocal inflections that it's hard to not be entertained. Personally, my favorite Faygo songs have always been his slower ones but the production on pink heartz is so Travis inspired that it makes the songs a little boring sometimes. I still love the album though
