- Remember CJ? He once was on top of the entire world with a #1 SMASH hit called "Whoopty". However, these days, his career is completely dead. He has literally switched genres, and his google trends/social blade graphs are on a never ending downward spiral. How does this happen? How can someone be so lit one year and completely gone the next? Well, sit back, grab a nice can of coca cola or whatever beverage you prefer, and watch as I demonstrate what being a fake gangster can do to your rap career.

Watch any nuardwuar interview, everyone is related to someone in music already who helps them initially get their foot in the door.

People don't realize how fast you can fall off. Especially now in the streaming era. I remember when that song was everywhere a few years ago. You go from buying iced out watches and exotic cars to living off your 3-4k a month streaming revenue and the few shows you get a year in 2 years time.
Rap isn't that good for huge stadiums, it's best in smaller clubs. You need a rock band if you want to carry stadium tours for years and years.

That's not that many, you basically named every rapper that can do it for anything near 10 years. Rock bands from the 1960s are still making money touring stadiums. Metallica has been selling out stadiums nonstop since the 80s. A mediocre not even that good rock band like Coldplay sells all over the world.

I’m curious to see with Lil Mabu gets to that position. I know right now nobody cares that he’s a fake gangster, but one of his last songs where he tried being all serious and everything was extremely confusing for me.
