Although the brothers are very fast , with metal to metal tool change at about a second , they suffer from program lag . Which is when the program moves very quickly it catches itself up and stops . They also , with only bt30 , cannot take big cuts and are only really useful on softer materials . So they are stuck in a small band of parts where other machines can generally machine anything .
Hi Andy, we've done alot of research on the BT30 thing and have found some engineers using these machines now with steels, EN8's and even EN 24 T so they seem to be making progress. As for the programming element these guys were raving about the processing speed so maybe that has changed now. Thanks for the feedback.

I can normally increase customers existing programs performance by 30% just by running on a Brother control. With regards to the BT30 all out machines are Big Plus spindles which have the same rigidity as a standard BT40 spindle. Mark

Google on dynamic milling. but for that work piece, a 5 axis 2 pallet machine is more productive.
