Haley is consistently great, why she has not received more widespread popularity is one of life’s great mysteries.
I think it’s a partially because she has an old school vibe, but also because she’s a singer’s singer, with real talent. She’s not about the huge productions with backup dancers, pre-recorded stage vocals & special effects. I think it’s better for the fans, too. Her venues are more intimate, and it makes for a much better show. She sounds every bit as amazing live as she does on her albums.
It depends on what you mean by "widespread" popularity? If it's why she hasn't made it to the Grammys or tops the spotify charts well that's easy enough - she won't sell her soul to big daddy Corp to pay her way into those venues. I'll tell you this though: those that have heard her sing love her voice, her ability to reach across genres with ease and perfection, and maintain her mastery of her instrument. Building her popularity one fan at a time and retain control of her life. She's fortunate and so are we who get to ride along with her.
I think she’s more known in the US. Because most people I’ve talked to in Canada haven’t heard of her before.
100,000,000 views of her "Creep" cover suggests she's doing OK on that score. Her shows sell out completely. The only thing missing is stadium performances, and that's not where her voice could really be appreciated. A Grammy Award would be well-deserved, and I'm sure she's in the running.
@@jpdemer5 Yeah, though I'm going to disagree with your Grammy observation. While I do agree with she should be considered, I think that will never happen. I'd be shocked if she were ever nominated as long as the corporate powers that be control the awards. If the measuring stick was based on a person's voice sure but that's not even remotely how you get a Grammy.

Whoa I think i have finally got this. When "Off the Ground" premiered on iTunes, my first listen, I thought meh it's nice but it's not going to be my fav. Then the video, I focused on the acting more and that was really impressive, that's our girl academy award stuff hehe. Tonight I really focused, slapped my face a couple of time to clear the ADD and took the journey, listened to the story done first in vocals, then in song. It's Haley's journey and she opened up her soul for all to see; a journey not yet ended and it's a masterpiece. For me, it is her greatest accomplishment to date and it's my FAV.........

I'm a long time Haley fan. HELP ME!! Ahhh! The song did not grab me. I had no feelings. After the "DON'T SPEAK" video with PMJ, which gives me chills and thrills, this one didn't give me that great feeling you get with most of Haley's songs. I'm a bad fan!! Please tell me how this compares to you all with her other songs and her PMJ songs. Am I alone on this? So sorry Haley. I love you. I will wait another 10 years for you to make a full jazz album that is just raw and uninhibited, where I think you shine most and cut straight to the heart and take us all to another dimension. Her voice is still like an angel even with a song that didn't do it for me. But I guess no one can please everyone all the time.
She's got a the rest of her EP to enjoy, meanwhile she's put out a lot of singles that haven't got any publicity you can enjoy until the EP comes out, It Ain't Over Til It's Over, Bullet Proof, You Send Me, her duet w/ one of the EP's producers, Tingsek called "Looking at You"

@@retrogal1520 , I will also go and listen to those suggestions by Tusk, as I love me both (or rather any, as there's more than just two..) sides of Haley... I admit I also felt slightly disappointed when just listening to the auto generated "ART video" (without actual video, just music...) yesterday for the first time, as I also expected something to kick in immediately... but listening to it a couple more times (and especially now with that video / short film that for me really has a deeper meaning) I really enjoy it more and more. To me it seems as if Haley was a bit tired of being seen, to speak with Zappa, as just some "cheap thrills at the back of your car", but here she offers us like a life long spiritual friendship, and in the end of the day that's of much higher value than just being a template for us to project our daydreams on...

Music and the music business has mostly been garbage for decades and I love music. I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out why someone with your voice and talent hasn't broken bigger.
