@@BrewerOffroad lol mine will to real bad if I run 87. I always run 93 and it prevents it for mine in all situations other than low RPM load when she is smoking hot like yours was in this vid. I had a 1991 XR250R way back and that thing spark knocked no matter what.
Yeah if I remember right I had a 90 rec fuel in it because I ran out of 93 lol I'm abusive to my machine 😅

I’ve been looking on marketplace for a while now trying to get a quad something like a blaster or 250ex but all the best deals are in different states
You'll find that alot most of my quads have been from out of state
Gonna be doing a rebuild on my 400 here shortly and im planning on doing a stock bore with a hot cam and high comp piston, how do you think that set up would do?
It would wake up the quad pretty good. Make it really responsive and have a nice power curve. If you do a high comp piston be prepared to run 93 octane
what anyone know about tusk axles? looking 4 a new axle for my YFZ and bot they are pricy

Hey I got a quick question, just got an 2002 400ex and the guy said it was sitting in his garage for a while. It’s smoking a little bit from the exhaust. Is that normal?
Not uncommon. Odds are the rings are alittle worn. You could either monitor the oil level and keep riding or buy new rings and replace them.
Hey i have a question my 400ex is burning oil and I'm pretty sure it needs rings what would rebuild kit would you recommend me to get. And if i get a 416 big bore which one should I get?
I would get a namura or weisco 402cc and have the cylinder bored. If not same brands 407 or 416. 402 is what mine is
Brewer Offroad I would do the 402 but I don’t have a machine shop around me is there any away I can buy the new cylinder (402) with the piston and rings?

I've never owned one either i rode an article cat one time, not sure of the cc, but it was kind of torquey but not a "sport" quad.
Brewer Offroad ok, what is a good first four wheeler to get in price speed Maintenance and quality? I want something that is fast easy to pop wheelies, in a good price range, easy to take care of and one that will last a few years
Itll sound biased but a 400ex haha honestly why I chose it for my main quad because its reliable and easy to ride and plenty fast enough to handle anything you want to do 🤙

Hey, I put a battery in backwards (terminals were switched and I wasn’t paying attention) and the fuse box started smoking and the wires were burnt all the way down to the starting solenoid. I have no idea where to even start, please help!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Id go to rockymountain atv mc or partzilla and order a factory wiring harness

I found a 400ex with a jetted carb, 426 big bore kit, nerf bars, new exhaust, and handguards. It looks like it's in decent condition. They want about 2,700 for it, is it worth it?

I believe mine is a tusk gas cap. I think alba and a few others make them as well
Im in New York and I know a guy selling a 2009 400ex and he said his bottom dollar is 3000. It looks like a really clean machine, do you think its worth it? You have to also figure everything in ny is more expensive lol the market here sucks
Just debating grabbing that 400 or waiting until I can find a good deal on a 450. I'd mostly be trail riding

Use the oem clutch cable. Others are too short. So if you replace it purchase an oem cable.
