How do you work the black colour into the crackles but can still leave the surface pure white?
Rachel Zhang if you add the black after it has been bisque fired as a mason stain/oxide or underglaze you can just wipe it off with a damp sponge. That'll leave the stuff inside the cracks while cleaning from the white surface.
Beautiful 😍
They look amazing and the process of making is even more amazing! Thank you for sharing.
Pro trick : you can watch movies at Flixzone. Been using it for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Jamal Conor yup, been using flixzone for since december myself :)
Eres mi maestro, saludo desde Venezuela.
Is that possible to get same result if I don't put on the sodium silicate on that part?
Thanks for sharing, you are a one in a million teacher!
Beautiful.
Whats the material at 04 min?
Dmitry Prokhorov sodium silicate also known as liquid glass. You can also use a torch to achieve similar effects. Different drying agents offer slightly different crackle results.
What ingredients of this dough please?
I'm struck by how you attach the pot to the wheel for trimming with just pressure and moisture. I've never seen that before. I always thought one needed to anchor the pot down with pieces of clay.
It creates a suction
I gotta learn this shit!
What is the sodium silicate for or do?
so beautiful, thanks a lot!
Merci pour tes idées .

do you mix anything with your sodium silicate?
Jim Tripp No, nothing, except for a bit of water since it was a little too dry.
Hsinchuen Lin thanks so much. Your vids are so informative. You have pushed me to be cleaner with my mud
My wife says why do you get so messy when you work with clay. I just put myself into it completely
Thanks again. I have some of your trimming tools and use them all the time. Chattering is great.
Beautiful, I have enjoyed watching your videos. I have tries making some pieces with sodium Silicate and so far I think they came out okay. Thank you for sharing your techniques ☺☺☺☺☺
