One of the things about nature is you can't reproduce it. Sometimes that ends up to be a double edge sword. Looks like you have a piece that can be passed down for generations. Good work.
Not all to long ago I was sure what kind of wood I would choose for my dream guitar. But with every one of your creations I start to overthink what I really want. Thanks for that, for keeping me open minded towards “strange” choices. This guitar is magnificent.
Thanks you Mike, that’s really kind and I’m the same! There are so many beautiful woods to choose from, so many unique pieces and I love using something that is unique if possible. It’s really nice to create something that can’t be replicated. 👍
In honour of Bob Dylan's recent 82nd birthday, I am so happy to see a beautiful Blonde on Blonde guitar like this one. It literally calls from the screen for you to play it. Well done!
Oh my goodness man. What a guitar. I absolutely love that top and the entire guitar is just beautiful as all of yours are. Seeing this makes me really happy to know you brother. I'm so glad we've become friends and building companions. Looking at your stuff really inspires me to do my best work both in design and during the build. You are a credit to our community my friend! ✌️🤍🖖
I’m so glad you like it, especially as you inspired me to do a bi colour fretboard. You were right, it does look clean. I’m really looking forward to having a blast making the GGBO vids with you my friend! 👍
My God Gio, that wood is absolutely top shelf. What a beautiful instrument. How on earth are you going to top that? Stunning work, my friend. Todd is going to sooo jealous. Ha-ha . 👍🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Thanks once again Mike for another very kind comment. 😂 yes I think Todd really likes this one! It’s interesting we swap so many pics each week on wood we’ve bought but it is really noticeable that we have a big divide in the species that we each have lots of access to. He gets some wonderful South American stuff, better than I could ever get and then I have access to more of the African woods. It makes for interesting conversations. We are doing an annual wood exchange now though which is great!
Truly impressed with your work and I'm learning a lot. I did my first build 4 years ago using a felled Apricot tree in my yard, and was talked out of doing something similar with an Apple tree. You've convinced me that Apple wood CAN be a wonderful choice and will be working towards that in the future. I love your reimagined Tele design and the quality of your work. What a beautiful guitar! Thank you for the inspiration!
Thanks for the very kind comment, I really appreciate it. I love the apple wood and it’s also really great to work so go for it, you’ll be glad you did!😀👍
Once again another lovely guitar made from beautiful woods. The presentation, your relaxed manner and attention to detail make it a joy to watch. Thank you.
That’s really kind, thank you. And thanks for the feedback on the presentation, I’m finally getting comfortable talking to the camera, it’s been a long road because it doesn’t come naturally to me!😂
Absolutely beautiful colours and grain in that wood right from head to tail. Design reminds me of a tulip a little bit, really ties in all of that nice organic flow to the build, well done!
Just home from band practice to this treat of a video. I still can't believe how glossy that finish is, it looks like a pool of water you could dip your hand into. Remarkable work as always Gio! I didn't realise which guitar show you were at either last weekend, I'd a few friends on other stands you could have met - some on Ibanez, some on Markbass, etc. Next time!
Thanks once again for another comment Owen. That would have been great to meet some of your buddies and make some more contacts. Perhaps we’ll run into each other one day too as you seem to be over here quite often. It would be great to have a beer! 👍
@@TornelliGuitars I have only worked with Apple wood once before, as a frame for a round stained glass window that I made.(There's a picture of it in a video on my channel) Even though I oiled it, it looked nothing like your work! Also, back up your videos immediately! TeraByte hard drives are cheap now!! Keep up the great work! I'm glad that Todd turned me on to your channel, I love watching you guys!
Gorgeous. I really like the way the 2 tone fretboard forms a bridge from the body to the headstock. You’ve developed a really nice range that’s both familiar yet totally unique, but what I really like is there’s this understated class to everything you do. What shielding paint do you use? I have the Rustins and it’s horrible and messy. I look like a 2 year old who’s found a lump of coal.
😂 I’ll remember not to buy that then! It’s the only shielding paint available at TLC Guitar goods, it’s great stuff and lasts forever. Thanks once again for another kind comment Jamie, I always look forward to your comments.👍
@@TornelliGuitars you need to get out more 😂 Seriously though, it's appreciated that it's appreciated. Thanks for the TLC heads up. Ive been impressed with everything I've had from them.
Wow.. you just HAD to do it.. Now I am torn between the Olive and the Apple. Just glad you said that particular piece was rare so I don't have to abandon my opinion of Olive. You have seriously mastered the art of shine. It really looks like that top was covered with glass. Sorry for the lost footage. I think everyone has done that or lost some for various reasons. I lost a good chunk of my LZZY build because I let the camera roll longer than it could write.
Thanks Bill, yes I knew I’d lose some footage at some point! Thanks once again for the compliment, I’m pretty comfortable with this finishing technique now which is nice because I do think a gloss finish is a really useful thing to be able to do. And yes, I love the olive too, I will have to try to find another top this year, I’m always looking out, they’re just very rare!
@@TornelliGuitars I stick to gloss finishes simply because they are so much easier to keep clean and nice. Some peoples guitars are just flat out disgusting. Some maple necks I have seen seem like they would actually carry the bubonic plague or some other world ending disease they get so nasty.
Nice comments 🤔 must be that high quality hand made works of art from gorgeous wood attract a higher quality of viewer 😁 That Apple would is just stunning 👍
What a beautiful lustre you have on that finish. What is the finish, how many coats and how long after applying it can it be polished? Superb looking guitar. Can't wait to hear it.
Thanks you for such a kind comment. I did a video on how I do this finish. It was a while ago so the video quality is not great but my method is there and the product. If you’re interested here is the link ua-cam.com/video/miKKKdaa_oc/v-deo.html
Great workmanship and design. Well presented video also. I'm systematically watching all your videos, to enhance my newly acquired desire to also build guitars. A question... is the black paint in the cavities to reduce hum or cosmetic only? Regards... Les, from the Sunshine Coast of Queensland Australia.
Thanks Les, I appreciate the support and kind comment! And yes, you’re correct, the black paint is shielding paint, to reduce unwanted noise from the electronics. 👍
I’m sorry my neck finishing footage is missing, I deleted it somehow!
And the sound demo? Lol
@@nsjguitarsakascotsman6989 my buddy is doing it for me at the moment 😀

Just wow. The applewood needs nothing! The neck just looks stellar. Irreproducable? Id say! Great job. How thick is the body?
Thanks for another very kind comment. The body is just under 43mm. 👍
Where do you get your pot knobs from?
The knobs for this guitar and the Journeyman guitar are both from Schaller. These are schaller strat knobs.
@@TornelliGuitars many thanks 🙏
