I always find wild type bettas so interesting in comparison to the normal bettas we see on the regular. The vibrant NATURAL colors, the fins, their shape. So beautiful and under appreciated in my opinion
yeah. When I first got into bettas, I only liked the domesticated long-finned varieties. Over time I've actually fallen in love with wild species. I keep a mahachaiensis, which I think is one of the most beautiful species, and just can't go back to the domesticated ones. Wild type bettas are insanely hardy, just as personable, and much more peaceful
Collecting betta fish on their natural habitat is indeed a stress-relieving habit. By collecting these betta fish, we can preserve them and make them more. Thank you for this video❤️🥺
One of the reasons I respect you so much man. There are not a lot of people out there trying to save species from extinction. I am also glad you get to spend time with the family.
It’s always so great to learn about the whole story each fish has, seeing the natural habitats to help provide the best homes. Beautiful fish, thank you for sharing!
I think it's so important that aquarists strive to emulate the natural enivronments of the specimens they keep. These videos really help amateurs and professionals alike get an accurate picture of these habitats. Thank you for sharing!
Great video as usual! Every video feels like going on an adventure with you (without having to leave the comfort of my armchair, so thank you!) I really enjoy the surprise of seeing what kind of wild betta you get every time! Keep up the great work!
I really like seeing the natural habitats, it helps me better design my own aquariums. Its amazing to see how brightly colored the bettas are once they are conditioned.
It's so pleasant to watch you catch these bettas and breed them to release in wild. I am literally impressed and inspired by your work, and I will also try to preserve these species like you, thank you for such amazing information.
It’s so amazing to me to get to see where these fish come from and how they are collected. Absolutely love these collecting videos! Thank you for sharing and congrats to you and your wife on the birth of your child!
I just came upon rescuing betta and looking to find someone educated! Glade I found your channel! I subscribed and rang the bell lol. Going to definitely stick around I’m mostly on Instagram so I followed you then.
I love seeing them in their habitats; it's so important to think about the whole ecosystem. And it's always encouraging to see people working on trying to preserve these fish :)
That was the best video I have ever seen! I always wanted to see, what the natural habitat of bettas looks like. The underwater scenes are the best!!! I love it. Now I want a betta again and make him the best home. ❤
This is super rad. I've fallen in love with Bettas and I've been eyeballing you're website for a while now man I think you're pretty good at what you do. Would love to order from you soon
I think having footage like this available is imperative to our hobby. The fish we buy some from places many of us will never get chance to experience first hand, this is a great way to show what fish are used to in the wild!
I really enjoy the quality of your photos and videos but more importantly the ability to learn about the native and proper care of bettas from a truly educated and unbiased source, thank you for your efforts!
You do an amazing job of maintaining the breed. It is an honor to know your work and to contribute a little to my orders. I hope I can choose from some wonderful fish for a very long time to come. Good luck in the future .
I love watching your conservation videos. I learn so much about bettas in their natural habitat and what they do for the surrounding environment! Thanks for your hard work!
Congratulations on the new baby!! I went swimming in a pond onetime and had a bunch of leaches on me. It was so freaky ! Thanks for all you do ..amazing video
Always love your videos, Frank, and these natural habitat videos are easily my favorite! They give us brilliant ideas for setting up accurate natural biotope tanks for our favorite fish! Thank you so much for all the work you do, for trying to reestablish natural habitats for these fish, and for providing us with so much education and information about them!
I think it’s super important to see videos like these, so people can see their natural habitat. I always say to people that the best thing that they can possibly do for their fish is to provide a natural habitat for them! I have some extra 10 gallons that I would love to turn into wild betta tanks, and hopefully breed them in the future as well.
Always enjoyed your videos and learned a lot from them. Most of my life I've only ever kept domestic bettas but after watching your videos I've grown to like wild bettas and I was actually able to own one. Love your videos!
It’s so wonderful of you to do these kind of things! As a person who keeps and breeds some pairs of endangered wild bettas from different complexes, it is so sad to see that people would just destroy these habitats without knowing what they are actually doing. We really need more people who care like you in this world. Wonderful video! I really enjoyed it! :)
Love what you do! As well as your conservation work, teaching us betta enthusiasts about their natural habitat helps us to replicate their needs and enable them to thrive in captivity. My Frank's copper alien loves the biotope I created for him using your videos/information - I'm eager to set up another tank with hopes of adding one of your gorgeous smaragdinas!
Thank you sincerely for you work Frank. It's so inspiring to see you and your family drive this conservation project. Wild Bettas have been my favorite fish for quite some time now, and I have been a huge admirer of your work ethic since I discovered your instagram. Your videos are educational and I've learned so much that I can apply to my aquariums. Thank you!
I've never seen this type of Betta before I found you recently! Your dedication to Betta conservation is inspiring! I love seeing their natural habitat, I had no idea! And they look so different after you acclimate them! Just stunning! I have two tanks cycled for Bettas, and now aliens are on my list!
It's incredible to see the natural habitat where these amazing bettas originated. It's sad to see how limited areas still being converted loosing natural habitats. Hopefully from your intervention someone can assist in preservation. Congratulations on your first child. Thank you Frank for sharing...keep up the excellent work. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I love being able to see where these super popular fish come from. You do an amazing do an amazing job documenting and showing every part of their ecosystem.
It's so great to see these natural habitats. Thank you for your work in keeping there natural environment alive and educating people about the needs of theses beautyfull species. I'm builing up a new tank for a wild betta right now and your videos and especialy your interview with AquaOwner in Germany, are a big help to make things right. 😊
Hey Frank, love your work. It’s great to know where their habitat is and what kinds of plants they live around. Lots of great information here. Thanks, keep up the good work.
This is so awesome to see the bettas natural habitat and where they come from. I enjoyed watching this video so much and now I’m going to go back and watch your others. Thank you for sharing this.
Almost every video I watch about a species the animal is threatened or endangered due to human activity. Thank you for helping to preserve these beautiful fish. Wonderful guide for setting up a tank and excellent information. Beautiful place!
As always an awesome video bro !! You not only produce the best bettas but also educate the hobbyists all around the world with your amazing videos. Thank you for sharing your experience with us all. Love from India ❤️
Stunningly gorgeous emerald green beauties..😍😍😍😍 Frank Sir can you explain method on conditioning them as well as the ph/temperatures of the natural environment? What's leaves that fall & release tannins in this region? Thank you for sharing. 👏👏👏👏
Congratulations on the birth of your first child. Health and Happiness to you and your family. Thanks for sharing your Betta collection videos. All the Best to You.
That plant at 10:20 looks like some species of tradescanta, based on the leaf and stem structure. Not sure on which species, but it's certainly interesting that they grow in the betta's natural habitat!
new to the channel and let me just say, it is amazing to see someone truly care about these fish. you’re incredible and the world needs more people like you!!! it seems like far too many people abuse these beautiful fish. i wish they realized what a gorgeous place bettas normally live in. so many get crammed into tiny little glasses with no heat or clean water. your passion makes my heart so happy. i absolutely adore your work.
Oh, wow, Frank! I love the work you (and all of those who help you) do! It's such an amazing legacy you're leaving out there... (I'd love to win that wild betta, too. I've got a 20-gallon long cycled and ready!) :D
Amazing work like always, Frank. Always looking forward to your videos. Being a hobbyist it's fascinating to know how the fishes live in the wild...gives an idea about how to set up the tank to properly take care of them.
So fascinating - absolutely gorgeous fish !!! I have a captive bred imbellis ( she is so sweet and cool - she behaves completely differently from my male splendens - much more wary and very fast ! ) . It's really interesting to see detailed footage of the natural environment , including plant species - and wild betta's in it . Thanks Frank and congrats for your little one too :)
Love watching your videos! Thank you for all your work in protecting wild bloodlines! I love your copper aliens, planning on ordering one in the next few weeks!
It's nice to see somebody doing the same thing like I do. We breeds B. splendens, B. picta, B. smaragdina, etc. for decades initially as hobby and eventually become conservation.
This is a great way of showing how the bettas live in the nature! Many people believe they live in a small puddle and uses that as an excuse for keeping betta in very small cup’s and bowl’s, because the fish are already used too a small amount of water! Here they actually can see how the Betta’s have plenty of water to swim in!! Great video!!
Don't know a lot about bettas but it's good to see an actually good fish owner, caring about the condition of the bettas and their habitats. Shows that you actually care about the species and their survival and that's pretty cool. Love to see more vids from you 👀
❤️I love wild betta because i love nature. When you gaze long into the nature the nature will so gaze into you. Thanks you Franks Betta for sharing this info on youtube❤️
I always find wild type bettas so interesting in comparison to the normal bettas we see on the regular. The vibrant NATURAL colors, the fins, their shape. So beautiful and under appreciated in my opinion
Well, the wild type bettas are the “normal” bettas.
1mb

Yeah, they're shy and predatory
Plus they can actually swim normally, while the pet trade have reduced Betta splendens to swimming while dragging a shower curtain.
