9/21/22 INSTALLATION NOTE: When installing your power cable into the connector housing, make sure you are in PIN 1. It is marked on the side. If you are in the wrong side, you will not have any switched output.
8/17/23 Update: This kit will fit 2019-2024 with the OLD Interior. 2020-2024 HD trucks with the OLD Interior as well. We will have a "Refreshed" interior option available on out site soon!

I purchased the upfitter kit for a 2023 Silverado with the refreshed interior. This video got me through the important steps. Everything works as it should! You guys rock!!!
YOU CAN INSTALL WITHOUT TAKING APART DASH -- If your slightly handy you can save a ton of time by cutting dash panel to fit switches. Since I had the new dash panel (with entire kit) with the hole already cut (and preferred not to take so much of the dash apart AND save time) I put blue tape on dash and measured and marked exactly where to cut. I took out my multi-function oscillating tool and cut slightly smaller and used a file to get it just right. I also bolted up the fuse assembly (it was tricky) by patiently pulling the dash out a bit and tightened the bolts to hold the assembly. Ran the wire harness to my new hole, plugged in switch unit and heard the nice click! Done with interior dash part in less than 40 minutes.

It would almost be easier to just cut a hole in the existing knee bolster with a dremel to install the switches than tear all that apart to install the new one. Thoughts?
The hole for the connector to the switch is not large and you would have to be precise. So precise that you would need an existing panel to measure off of. If you had a panel to measure off of, why not take 15 minutes and install the pre cut one instead of messing with the rotary tool. (That was my though process - I let it roll onto the keyboard naturally 🙂) The installation is extremely easy. The interior for these trucks are not that intricate.
Say I want to retrofit these switches into an older gm product. Would not plugging the grey connector in have any effect of the switches not working? I figure it is for back lighting and dimming?
5 buttons, 4 wires? I heard the wire is in the headliner but also seen you can tap into a certain wire. Is this true?
That is correct. You can see all of that from the supplied schematics
Very good video. BUT my ? is how do you get the light/horn/compressor wires thru the firewall to hookup to the leads?? That could be your next Video.
Use the passthrough on the other side of the vehicle. Same concept as when you ran through the driver side one with the power cable in the kit. our specialty is OEM parts. Aftermarket are universal usually so you need to figure out your part you purchase vs. application.
Remember when you didn't have to tear the dash completely out to lay an aux wire thru firewall ?
Not that bad at all and WELL worth the final product.
Excellent video. I just installed this kit but have a quick (probably dumb) question….how do I wire lights into this to operate them and choose which button controls them?
Reference the schematics to see the output wire colors for each corresponding switch. They are 12v switched +
Quick question, why do we plug the gray connector into the factory harness? Is this not a standalone system?

Thanks for the video. I have a question I hope you can help with. I know the switches are powered for the lights on the switches, but do they actually provide the power for the light/ item you're hooking up?
The "Blunt Cut" wires that come out of the fuse block are your switched outputs. When you purchase the kit you get the schematics of which wires are which switch.

I’m currently installing the kit and it seems like something is preventing the lead from going through; do you have to poke through a back membrane?
No, just the outer. You need to straighten it out to get through the passthrough free and clear.
Got it. Figured out you have fold over the foam on the inside to expose the hole. I also to use a piece of rigid wire to fish it through. Knowing how much of a PITA it was gonna be, i left the fishing string in there for future wires.. Great tutorial, thanks for sharing!

When will the same setup be available (including lower kick panel with cutout) for the 2024 GMC Denali ultimate 2500 HD
We have a kit available at the link below. Unfortunately there is no panel available for the AT4 / Denali in 2024 as for the dash is different. We do offer a 20" extension harness to into the console and a spot to maybe think about would be between the power outlets there!

Quick question why take out all the trim out
Hey David! If it wasn't necessary, of course we would avoid it. If you watch the video you can see that it is all overlapping. You must start at the right, and move to the left in order to gain access to the knee bolster screws.

The connection to battery couldn't have been made 4in longer to go around the module sitting on top of the battery bracket instead of between the 2 harness wires.... really? Wtf. Not to mention the wiring was 1 in to short to reach the terminal on battery with where the plastic clips were installed.
6 Cylinder Diesel is the only one with that module there - You can loosen and move the clips from where they are preinstalled (by GM, not us) to bring the slack the one way or the other. The vehicle in the video is actually the same setup and we got it to sit just fine with no issue after just a little extra effort. Thanks for the input!

With some ingenuity anything can be done. The fuse block mounting is specific as well as the battery mounting. That is just thinking off the top of my head. Feel free to email us.
