Vinland Saga is a Masterpiece. Don't let childish people tell you "Oh season 1 is better" or "Season 2 is better". It's one continuous story that currently spans 48 episodes. In fact the author outlined season 2 way before he came up with season 1; he thought that season 2 will sound preachy and not very impactful on Its own so he wrote the first arc in the manga that got adapted into season 1 of the anime. Season 1 serve as a 10/10 prologue for a 10/10 Season 2. Season 1 was made by WIT Studio (AOT S01=>S03P2) in 2019, and Season 2 is currently being animated by MAPPA (AOT: The Final Season, CSM and JJK) in 2023.
@@gthewolf7948 Yeaaaaa 99% the same. But without the action animation director like Ebisu or Imai. It's better to say completely the same core staff, which are the most important thing to keep a visual identity in a transition from a studo to another.
This is a story about vikings and it's VERY historically accurate, down to the names of real people who lived. Vinland was a real place, too. It's in Canada. Everyone thinks Christopher Columbus discovered north america first. Nope~ Season 2 takes a major shift in tone, because the first one was just the prologue. It's soul searching and finding point to one's existence. Studio WIT's Vinland Saga Project team had to transfer to Studio MAPPA due to lack of funding for the second season. Yes, the one with the blonde beard is Thorfinn. Four years have passed since the events in the first season. If you like Studio WIT's style, I definitely recommend Ranking Of Kings. "He's still on bad times." You could say that. He's been full of hatred and anger since he was 6 years old. Once his goal was ripped from him, he became an empty shell and was tossed into slavery.
lol it's less that Thorfinn went from child to adult, and more that Vinland Saga is one of those few anime/manga where time is shown to be passing in more ways than simple outfit changes
One of the best anime ever and the manga is considered legendary and shares the same seat with Berserk and Vagabond. This is based on the viking era and has many historical characters including the main protagonist and others that I don't wanna spoil in case you guys give this a chance. One other popular character was said to be the first European to explore what is now eastern Canada, around 1000 CE. That is five hundred years before Columbus.
@@lutherholayeahme7449 you said "historical accuracy" first..... why are you bringing geographically issue? if you really wanted historical accuracy English isn’t right too at least they have to use Icelandic language
@@hsp2619 at least they encounter English speaking people in the show. And vikings did interact with English speakers and other people from Europe. They had no connections with Japan
Man these were fire! Would you guys be interested in us reacting to the series?

"it's about a little kid who became a MAN" is such a beautiful way to put it even though you haven't watched it yet

Vinland Saga is one of the "Seinen Big 3" along with Berserk and Vagabond. its really THAT good
This show is a masterpiece!!!
Season one is wit studio, but season two by mappa
Both seasons, same staff
Fun fact a lot of characters from this anime were base on real people from back then.
1st season by Wit(did Aot 1-3) and 2nd season by Mappa(Aot 4 as you said)
The show is done by wit but switched to Mappa in season 2 but it’s still wit people working on it under a Mappa director.
Waiting for the 4th ED. Good job!
Goatland saga 🐐
don't compare Vinland saga with That (AOT), by the way, Vinland (manga) came way before Aot.
I can compare animation styles. Especially since the later seasons were done by the same animation studio.
Shut up man 😂 so cringe I swear.
Season 1 consistently looks better than season 2 but season 2 best moments looks better than season 1
Vinland Saga is a masterpiece
the only thing cg in this show is i think first episodes first part, and a cart chain used in second season. even waves are hand drawn
Wit animated season 1, mappa did season 2
But same staff
It's the same staff.
Edens Zero opening and ending 1-3

Viking anime.
I prefer to watch it in English dub for historical accuracy
japanese version sounds better
viking didn't used English though
if you want "historical accuracy" they have to say with old Norse
@@hsp2619 but they sure as hell didn't speak Japanese either
At least English makes more sense geographically
