Mine arrived today. You were exactly right with the sizing. I'm a 42" chest and the XL is a perfect fit. Nicely made, understated. I got the silver one which is actually more grey. Thank you!
I was holding my breath when you were about to announce the final test...it sounded like you were about to say an unintentional crash test! Good review mate
No, I’m not that dedicated a reviewer!! I’ve also liked this jacket for trail or green lanes in the uk because even down to about 15 deg C I can be too hot wearing a normal jacket trail riding. It’s very light weight and comfortable.
@@irishflyer6377 I'm from Australia and we're coming up to summer and I'm thinking about a jacket to pop around town. I have an A* mesh jacket but I hate the fit and it doesn't flow air as well as I'd like but then again on those 40°C days I'm doubtful anything will
@@motoshan I doubt that any jacket feels good in 40C or above, even just a T Shirt would be hot because that air is like heater blowing on you. Some people say that mid forties upwards its better to close up a jacket and wet your T Shirt every 30 min, i not tried this but sounds good.
I even had to go two sizes up. One size up was OK, but tight around my shoulders and under my armpits. Two sizes up was more comfortable in those areas, but left the sleeves and belly with a lot of fabric. Luckily, you can tighten those in with the straps.
Just bought an Eclipse 2. Love it! Still go a size up though. Im XL in almost everything, but XXL in blue was the one for me. Interestingly, i could feel the cooling airflow through it just walking around at work. On the road, a big temp difference after following a ute for a while, and then riding alone - was much cooler after the ute turned into a side street. I'm very happy with it. The only disappointment is there is no way to upgrade the CE 1 armour to CE 2 level for better protection.
I have it since the last year. Great for hot days. Rain… no way. It caught me once on a highway. Drops were like a needles with 90km/h. But I had to get some cover somehow. Great jacket for the money, easy on, easy off… - BUT - inside pocket is on a wrong side :-). Especially if you are used to carry your mobile phone on the right side outside pocket. But more annoying is that the Velcro on sleeves is bad. It opens all the time. Would you all who use it have the same issue? And have you handled it?

Just ordered one. Wasn't sure about the size. I'm 5'9" about 180 right now, but that's heavy for me and I've cut out on the pop and candy recently, so I'm hoping to get back to my usual 165-170 before too long. I was right on the high side of medium according to their Sizing Guide so I ordered a Large. Hopefully it will fit correctly. I'd rather it be snug around the belly (which I can fix by losing weight) than for the arms to be too long and then the elbow pads don't lay where they should. Had a nice Alpinestars jacket I bought when I started riding 15 years ago, and it was too big and the elbow pads would end up more at my forearms.
Hi, I’m 5’11” and about 165 lbs. The Medium was too tight across the shoulders and chest so I’m in a Large and it’s not big on me, only room for a T shirt under it. I think Large is probably the best for you, if not it will be XL because there sizes are all tight and I doubt you’d get into a medium. Enjoy.
5'11 170 with an athletic build, size large fits. But it's not exactly a comfortable jacket due to the hard armour and sleeves that are a little tight. Feels like the armour is being pressed into my skin around the elbows. The sleeves on the medium were too tight and very fitted everywhere else. Sound alike you need a large.
I also have the Mesh Pants, lots of air flow, at first feels a little like wearing shorts. Again like the jacked that are a small fit so try on if you can or order a size bigger than normal, might even need two sizes.
Thanks for the review - always good to see non sponsored reviews on things. you seem to have shown us testing on the really high temp side of things, what about the average UK/Ireland summer? (16-25C, dry) would you recommend it for that ?
I’d say it’s way to ventilated for 16C, from a temperature point of view think of it as if you’re wearing no jacket and at 16C it would be too cold to ride in just a t-shirt ( forget about protection for a moment) by 25C I’d say it’s a very good option, perhaps slightly cold if you were doing long motorway riding. You could use a waterproof under or over it to provide wind protection and this might good thing on typical UK/Irish summer days where it’s mid twenties during the day but might be only high teens in the evening on your way home. For this part of the world it’s good for the very best days we get but not an all round jacket. I hope this helps.
At least you are honest and mention they do nothing for you when going slower or at a stop. At temps at 35 degree it is going gong do nothing to help keep one cooler as all it is would be is an air fryer. Better off with a heavy leather to keep some heat off you.
Correct, after a certain point (I’d say 40 deg ish but perhaps 35) then just wet your t shirt and cover it with a sealed jacket. This is great in the 20 to 34/40 ish area
Hello Irish Flyer! Thanks for the nice review. Please tell me your jacket is olive? And also the size of the jacket as well as your height, weight and chest girth. thanks
Hi, Revit call this colour Dark Green however I would agree with you that its Olive. I'm 5'11" (180cm) and 165Lbs (75KG). I would normally ware a Medium BUT for this Jacket I needed a LARGE. it comes with Shoulder and Elbow protection but you need to purchase back protector separately, I was able to use a back protector from a Oxford Mondial jacket. I've used it in temperatures from 20c to 30c and its great.
Hi, I’m about 5’11” or 180cms and around 80kg. I’d normally go for a Medium but in this I needed a Large and this is still a snug fit with just a T-shirt uNader it. Because the mesh is not as stiff as other road jackets it’s important that the Jacket isn’t too big so that the armour stays in place. I hope this helps

I think it would be very much like most textile jackets its got the same protection in the shoulders, elbows and optional in the back as the rest of my jackets. Clearly the mesh areas have less protection but these are probably not the impact areas. My view is that this jacket zipped up is better than any jacket left at home or worn open because its to hot to ware it properly.
