Hi! I saw you during Nick’s live feed this weekend and wanted to stop by and show my support as a fellow UA-camr who loves the advice and tips Nick provides us. You are the first person I have seen doing this lost art of hand design on UA-cam! I hope to see more of you online soon!

Nice of you to stop by. Hand drafting still exists in interior design curriculums although it is now minimal. And yes, I enjoy listening to Nick’s tips when I have time on Saturday mornings. He is a wise man.

I like the solution with the closet on the walls just at end of the hall

Wow thanks! It seems like common sense😂 but it really isn’t to the average lay person… and it’s things like this that can make or break lighting in the house! Wow! Thanks!

Assuming the bedrooms are 8 foot from the front wall to the back wall, I don't see how there is that much walking space between the beds and the closets. Our bedrooms are bigger and you can barely get through.

Well the first thing we never do in design is "assume". The room is very small but it is actually 10'-0" in the direction you are referring to. This is a very small house given to students as a practice for architectural drawings, and it needs to fit on an 11 x 17 paper size. The discussion around the bed placement is directed at the use of bi-fold doors as space savers. In addition, when you have mass at levels below your hips (the bed and night tables) a smaller space will function as there is nothing to impede your upper body movements. This is actually an experiential process. I set up a mock-up in the classroom for students to begin to experience the distances we work within. Also, the scale of the furniture is another piece that we work with in small spaces. Thanks for commenting. I had responded earlier, but just saw that it wasn't posted. Let me know if you would like to discuss further. Thank you!

What are the dimensions for the drawing in mm

The paper size is 11" x 17" or 27.94 cm x 43.18 cm. The drawing is drawn at 1/4" = 1'-0" or .635 cm. I hope this helps. 1 inch equals
2.54 cm. The house is very small so that we can fit it onto the paper size. This is an introductory class to learn the graphics of an architectural drawing. Overall the house is 1219.20 cm wide X 731.52 cm. Super small. 😉😉
