I would really love if this was a story about the origin of the entity. I also noticed that his helmet kind of looks like the jaws or claws of the entity in some cases O_O. Also there is a website for The Casting of Frank Stone and they have released a section where you can 'investigate' his workbench and get a close look at some of his items.

That's what I'm thinking. We see flashes of the hooks and generators during the trailer, and a part of me believes this is where the entity first "touched down" in our reality and essentially saw those things as good implements for the trials and yoinked them for its own use. I also think the name "The Casting of Frank Stone" not only alludes to metal working, but also him being "casted" - somewhat like an actor- as a killer for the first time in the newly designed trials based off these new implements. I could be totally wrong when this drops, but for me, it feels like the place where the entity first came up with the idea of the trials to feed off of.
Frank conveniently having a book literally showing the entity breaking into reality makes me think he possibly summoned the entity here, just to prove how worthy he is (depending on how many people die due to your choices, of course). Perhaps those who die don't actually die in the game, and instead become the first survivors in the entities realm - and of course the trials. Those whose survive escape the entity similar to Kate Denson, who managed to survive being taken by the entity once in a cave, before a second attempt in the woods which she couldn't escape (as seen in the clown's trailer)

I feel the same, they'll be added to the game after the game drops. It'll be interesting to learn about Frank's Lore, I feel like he may be a part of the cult that Elodie and Felix's parents were a part of... I think they were the same cult that was after Charlotte and Victor and Blight worked for??? 🤔 He looks like he's got a whole book on the Entity and wants in her realm.
I just hope it's not as buggy as The Quarry and the QTEs are better... I remember at some points when you played Devil In Me the events were like 5 seconds and you were on normal but had no time to react. So it was like Oops there dead now cause I needed to react as soon as it popped on screen.

So on the official trailer this is basically a standalone game similar to like what Brandy said about their previous horror games where you had to choose what paths you took.
