    Flying from Ontario to Grande Prairie next week to help my uncle on his trap lines for my first time next week. Your videos are great and I'm definitely learning a lot already but I think I'll definitely enjoy them more once I return haha . Cheers

    Great video. Great show. Recent subscriber and fan here.
    Wish we had lynx here in in northern Wisconsin. There are some bobcat here to trap, but get in the lottery for a permit. How great it would be to have a trapline and freedom like that. Beautiful country to have to yourself. Truly blessed to be able to trap in such a vast territory, with what is indeed a very healthy population of critters.

    I have to agree with swampwhitoak1 on this one. This was one of your best videos and especially the family you were visiting. They've certainly got it figured out. Great job ALL of you. We don't have lynx down here in Missouri, but we do have bobcats. It's always exciting to catch a cat. We can't use 330's on the ground though. Great video.

      Sam Thompson Sam - we are just now getting a sizable population expansion of bobcats very close to my area in Ohio. Any caught must be released. There was supposed to be a short experimental season in a few counties with a quota cap. The division of wildlife wanted dna and other scientific info from the bobcats to learn about the expansion. At the last minute it was cancelled for political reasons.
      I would really like to tag along on a wilderness trapline.
      These hosts work really hard to produce their video. The behind the scenes work managing the camera gear and the editing must be tedious and time consuming.

      It is a huge amount of work and in some difficult conditions but our focus is to share the truth about trapping and the people who work so hard in the disipline. Everyone can help by sharing our channel and videos!

    This is a particularly good episode. The filming is very good and the information is very interesting. Your guest was better than most. He responded well to you, and he had his own interesting comments. Where I live and trap, there are no lynx but I can dream.
    The picture quality is very crisp. It is very noticeable that there was no moisture in the air because of the very low temperature and high pressure. (I don’t intend to detract from your good camera handling skills.)
    That weather combination is unusual because you can get frostbite and a sunburn on the same day.
    The hammock looks very inviting. Maybe on a warmer day. Ha.
    Your transition into the coffee break was very clever and effective. You made me want to have a cup of coffee. Very impressive about that big 4 stroke starting. Does it have an engine heater? I prefer to have an engine heater on anything possible. It makes a huge difference on startup and helps the engine wear longer because it warms the oil so the oil can lube the engine right away rather than being too stiff to lube at first. Where a specific engine heater is not available, you can use a electrically heated dip stick. Always remember to replace with the real dipstick before leaving.
    Best wishes!

      Thanks for the kind words! The Yamaha doesn't have a heater, the only power is a generator so the choice is run the genrator all night. I use pure synthetic oil and it certainly helps the starts. Kevin was a great guest and it was a very enjoyable trip with them!

    Just got the November issue of Fur*Fish*Game, and they're saying lynx could go for more the $1000 US. That is awesome. Wish we had those around here in the Adirondacks.

      they were probably talking about lynx cat which is bobcat from Wy and Utah. Very select critters! I'll take a $150 average on my lynx and smile all the way to the bank.

    The singular and plural form of lynx is the same, lynx. Link is not a proper pronunciation for either singular or plural.

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  5 років тому +1

      Is it creek or crick? It is a vernacualr of the north and to them we have it wrong! LOL

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  5 років тому +1

      The further north you go, the more it becomes link. North of the 60th parrallel it far more common than lynx. I guess similar to the further south you go the more crick is used.

      Hey man,this is the way it is out here. No one here wants an English lesson when it comes to frickin trapping. No one cares if it sounds good or bad to you. And that’s all you got out of this video.? Sad sad sad.
      What’s wrong with you. Or do you just troll UA-cam to criticize layman explaining their trade.
      Get your pretentious ass out of here.
      ‘Link’ it is ,now beat it !!!!
