I'm not a fan of chronographs, 24 hour subdials or lack of running seconds, however, you are right that watch looks great on wrist. I would never have thought it was 41mm by looking at you wearing it. The colour (or lack of) works well too. Great review as always 👍
I like it! Very cool way to integrate a date window. Maybe the strap helps to keep the watch in place, perhaps it feels more top heavy on a bracelet. Agree about the Miyota 6S21 being a better alternative for the VK64 movement.

Cheers my friend. From 1971 and fully serviced. Wharfdale Sub plus Dali Spector II speakers. I have it set up with Zen Bluetooth DAC for Tidal too. Main system in bedroom more modern with Sony Cd player Cambridge Audio class D amp and Mission Speakers plus Dragonfly Cobalt DAC pls blue tooth. My Vintage Sony system from 1976 is stored but it's a beauty too. Can't beat the older systems for the warm / full sound :)
Is the tan strap shown in your video the wayforth factory option? Its clearly a different look than the black and now i am torn on which looks better. Also as a lifelong Canadian traveller i am happy to see a well made ans well named watch. So many brands fail just on the name. Cheers for this video. Interesting watch and great video mate. A strong leather smell on a good strap is always a guilty pleasure! I feel slightly weird that I have never even heard of the brand being based also in Canada. The genuinely original design is a pleasure to see at the more affordable end of the market. Nice to see a proper hi-fi system in your video, totally unrelated to watches but such a rare sight these days!
Cheers buddy. It's a brilliant watch. On the stereo front I have 3 systems...2 of which are from the 70's. As a musician I need that old analogue warm sound. New systems don't give you that 😉

Great review. I think this thing looks pretty cool for the price. I like they got rid of the anxiety inducing single tick seconds hand. My niggle would be the inner rotating bezel looks a little out of proportion, however it’s great that they included one. Very rare in this price range.

Gorgeous watch! They made a very competitive chrono! I share your opinion, 6s21 would have been a better choice. Regarding the fiddly inner bezel, it doesn't really mater as it is an extra widget to play with aside from the chrono pushers, the more widgets on it the less boring will the corporate meetings be 😆
First watch I've seen in a long time that grabs me enough to browse their store. Just a shame they didn't send you a bracelet so we could see the quality of that too.
It's a lovely watch, seen it a few times now and it would replace my Christopher Ward C7 mk2 (slightly too big for my tastes these days)... but the movement. I'm less bothered by the 24 hour subdial than most but I do feel there are plenty of alternatives that wouldn't have changed the price too much. The Ronda in the aforementioned is a solid chrono movement. And the Miyota mentioned elsewhere in these comments. I hope Wayforth take on the feedback for future models. No watch is perfect and I might yet make peace with the movement and get one, as... well really, who actually uses chrono's in anger? Really... very few of us and probably the majority of us not keen on the VK movement! Funny old thing us humans. Beautiful retro hifi gear John.
Heers buddy. I'm sure Stephen at Wayforth is paying attention. My HIFi gear is my pride and joy. That is my living room set up. Nicely serviced Hitachi system from 1971. It has a wharfdale Sub and a pair Dali Spector II s attached lovely for CDs and I have a Zen Dac for Tidal streaming attached. My bedroom set up is more modern but I also have a vintage Sony system from 1975 tucked away that I'll need to resurrect somewhere! Once a musician...always a musician haha!

Just love that old silver & champagne finish the 70s & 80s gear used. And to Wayforth, please be assured I think we all love the design. That inner bezel is a thing of beauty! That's very appealing. Had my eye on a Geckota Forzo until the prices went up and they seemed to have sell out. This fits the same niche. PS Your leather secret's safe with us.
I like the look of this one but struggled with a number of the aspects…. The inner rotating bezel seems pointless unless numbered to 23, is it really a limited edition? But mostly I struggle with the value for a VK64 powered watch, mostly because I’m an old skinflint…. Great review sir
Hey! The inner rotating bezel tracks a second timezone, which is why it's numbered to 12 markers. Limited edition, in our case, means there was only one production run of 500 units total (across all colours). The Voyager V1 will not be made again once sold out. All the best! - Stephen
Hi John, I'm not wanting another watch right now, but my only criticism why this wouldn't even be a contender would be that pointless internal rotating bezel, It would drive me nuts with it drifting off the 12 mark at will, unforgivable, which is a shame as it sure is a pretty watch and the only thing spoiling it.
Hello! The inner rotating bezel's function is to track a second time zone. It will also not drift off unless the crown is turned which to this date has not happened accidentally. All the best! - Stephen
There's plenty of these good looking chronos about atm and I like them. I would prefer the sub dials to be larger however, as they're so small they're difficult to read as you get older - and they look like an afterthought at this size. Just my opinion
@@johnswatchjoint I'm 64 and hopeless without reading glasses! I just think the subdials look lost on the dial from a design point of view. The Erroyl chrono's have the right balance of size against the face, and I'd like to see that sort of scale on these quartz pieces
@@johnswatchjoint sry but after switching to mechanical watches.....quartz has lost a lot their sole it feels a bit like when you buy a quartz watch you buy flash but no substance
great video and a nice watch! I like the inner rotating bezel as I prefer dive watches for that function. But for chronos I don't think I could spend the money as I have all 3 Pagani PD1766 watches as my daily quartz beaters which I think the price to quality ratio is unbeatable, so i'd be disappointed I think. They have a similar vintage style crystal, seiko VK and sandwich dials. I have been spoilt by these $50 bargains!
@@shj2000 Because the 6S21 has a running seconds subdial and a 60-minute subdial instead of the useless 24-hour subdial and no running seconds on the VK64. Also, the 6S21 allows you to manually adjust the chrono seconds hand to get the perfect alignment.
it do look nice mate but its well over priced, just look what we can get for that type of money, if they knocked £100 off it would be worth the money i mean it only has a VH in it and there cheap as chips.
Unfortunately that's because you're used to seeing homage watches that are not original. This is a microbrand that builds these from scratch and they pay more for R&D. If we only have Chinese homages and no microbrands, then our hobby will die. With discount this watch is around £230. Try getting a Seiko for that complete with a crappy bracelet and hardlex!
@@johnswatchjoint buddy Im 60 years old and have been collecting watches since about 10 when I look at a watch I add up the sum of the parts there's about 120 in parts add 50 for building and other bits and where looking at 170 and that's being kind to the watch because we would prob half that when buying in bulk.
Sorry but I am also 57 and was not being disingenuous. I have also been into watches for many years. Microbrands have to get their models made and approved instead of cutting and pasting current models with cases already off the shelf. That is all I was getting at. There is a lot going on with this watch. I am no brand whore but if I see a good watch I let you know. That's all I am here to do. If you have a difference of opinion then that is allowed but let's not start an argument out of nothing. We are two old grumpy men who both like watches. Let's leave it at that 😊

It has its limitations but as a watch it is a thing of beauty. It's going to replace my beloved Pulsar vintage chrono I rate it so much.

I am 57 and my eyesight has fallen over a cliff over the last few years....and they are very clear and easy to read in reality. 🤗

Unfortunately the ST1901, as nice as it looks, is only for occasional wear. If worn daily it would not stand up to daily wear.
