Thank you so so much for this video. I have broken my back multiple times and find driving my car unbearable. I have been on the edge about buying 5th gen seats. However you really summed up all the problems i have been seeking a remedy to!!
Chris Brooker cool man, that’s exactly why I put these in! You can hit up Tim Waters on Facebook here’s the link for the brackets facebook.com/waterstrw
How did you end up running power to them? Are you able to run them off an inline fuse to the fuse box or should you run a junction box from the battery
Great video! I’m definitely doing this. How do I get I contact with Tim Waters for a set of brackets? And also did your car have a power drivers seat from factory? If so, did you just use the power from the original harness which is fused already?
Tim Wagner he is on FB facebook.com/waterstrw ... I didn’t Have power seats previous to these so I ran a circuit off the fuse box with a relay and a pretty heavy duty wire may have been a 12 gauge
Thank you for the video. I also don’t like my 89 irocz convert seats. It’s not very comfortable. It’s hard making a decision which route to go . Your video help me make a decision, I want those seats you have on your irocz. Beautiful car by the way. Thank you!
I just got the brackets from Tim today for my 89 vert.. The brackets look very well made. Nice welds. Will try to get the seats installed this weekend and update.
@@jamesleventakis8695 I just matched the size gauge wires negative and positive coming from the seats. I cut the large connector off and wired negative to seat bolt, and positive with an inline fuse to the fuse holder under the dash.
I’m down to wiring up my seats. I’ve already tested the power on the seats using 16ga wire from the leads on the seat direct to positive and negative battery terminals. Seat works fine. After running a ground to the frame of the seat and a switched wire to a relay (using 16ga wire) I get no power to the seat when putting the key in acc power. You mentioned in the video to use 10 or 12 ga wire. Do you think that is my issue? The wire isn’t heavy enough to run the motors on the seat?
You should still see the seat work, the heavier gauge wire will only come into affect when the seat stops moving it could heat up. I will check that she really is good and then she got a good ground. Are used an eyelet ground on the Original stud for the ground
@@FireballMullet yeah I had it grounded to the side of the frame of the seat. Im going to use some 14ga (that I have in hand, instead of the 16 I was using) and ground it to the bolt that bolts directly into the floor pan later today. Hopefully that will remedy my issue. Thx

You don’t need a relay, just match the positive and ground gauge wires to the seat wires. Yes I cut the connector off and just used the two wires. Just do an in-line fuse to your fuse box.
