Had a bad mix session and I realized for the first time that I can write and produce, but I will never be a good mix engineer. I was seriously thinking of selling off my gear. Even though this video is unrelated, I felt the sincere warmth of the discussion. Encouraged to keep trying.

Dude, I'm twenty years older than you and sometimes "doing it right" is not about a high productive output. It can also be about sleeping when you really need it. And that's OK!

Thank you Andrew! I've seen myself kind of in a slump after being 4 years of working full-time in audio for myself and finding that it's so easy to let chaos creep in and kind of take your foot off the gas. Do I pursue this opportunity or that one? Do I make this investment or that one? Am I doing right by my family and honoring the commitment my family has made to the work I'm doing by getting after it? There is a lot of stuff here for me. My biggest take away on this: Don't wait for everything to be perfect. What are your goals? Be kind to yourself. Cheer yourself on by showing up and doing the little things.

That reminds me. Time for my beet drink.
I am 20 years older too. Take care of yourself. The older you will be very glad you did.

Quality content. No sponsors and focusing on things that actually matter.

Great video, I know I’ve got a ton of stuff to do and sometimes it’s just daunting. Right now I know I have 2 songs of drum comping to do but I keep putting it off. I think writing down tasks to do and creating a tick sheet is gonna help. 🤞

One that made a big difference for me, was realising I don't have to reply to messages and emails after I finish for the day. They can wait until I am back on "work hours"

Really great advice. Especially about making goals achievable. If someone says that they’re gonna get a rubbish task done and they fail, it starts another downward spiral of feeling like you’ve failed. If you say only 5 minutes (like you said), then that’s super achievable and give you that sense of “I can do this”. Great video man.

Thanks Drew! Having a format for a productive day is totally helpful. I tend to react on the emotions of the session. I've never been full time music, so in those hours I have ... more organization is a true need. Oh ... "Magic Mind" ... just ordered some from Amazon!! Thanks man ...

In terms of handling high levels of complexity, this makes me think of the book called "The Checkist Manifesto". Essentially, the power of checklists can ensure high levels of efficiency, consistency, and multitasking. Great topic, man.

I know that read like a joke , but I’m serious. Vyvanse has been helpful, keeping me focused, and not like adderal. It’s more subtle , and is long release. It just helps me be efficient.
