A BBC 1 tv news report by the lovely Jan Leeming about the derailment at Morpeth Northumberland on the ECML on 24th June 1984.Recorded from tv as it was broadcast.
The train involved was 1E48 1950 Aberdeen to Kings Cross hauled by 47452.
The cause was the train entering the 50 mph restricted curve at 85 to 90 mph.
