Here's a brief tutorial showing you a basic step in how to bring your comics to life in video, using these simple camera panning techniques in Adobe After Effects. There's all sorts of uses for this, so I won't list them all. But here are few big ones: Teasers for the comic you published, trailers for your graphic novel in the works, and Kickstarter videos that will grab your backers attention. In this tutorial I go over how to use simple position and scale keyframes in Adobe After Effects to create the illusion that a camera is zooming in-and-out, around, and all-over your comic book page. As an added bonus I show you the simples way to utilize the built in motion-blur button. It's really just a button, but there are so many buttons and you gotta know which ones to push. I do my best to keep this straight-forward, simple, and right to the point. Please let me know in the comments if you have any questions, I'm happy to help!

Super duper heckin' helpful! Thank you!
Still a pretty practical tutorial though. I could see this being used to deliver in a different medium and increase the reach an illustrated comic could have.
Yes! That's exactly the idea!
Neat! Nice tutorial - I didn't absorb AE very well back in college but this is just the right thing for when I'm ready to sit down and do short trailers / promotional stuffs :) I'll definitely be sharing this around!

Thank you for the video, I just have one question with the blur on the zoom and out, it didn't work when I actived it. Do I have to make something else for this to work?
You need to make sure that you have the layer effects toggle turned on for the layer that you're using motion blur one. Each layer has it's own toggle
Dope sauce!
Sweet! We're so glad you think so! Thanks Walter!
You're dope sauce! Thank you!

Great vid! but how do you play it in video mode without sliding the timeline in motion?
oh do you mean previewing the video? if you press space bar it'll play through the time-line. the first time it plays through might be a little slow and choppy and it renders the preview but then it should loop and play fine after that
Ahhhh that's a clever way to do it! Thanks for the video! Might try it with mine!
We'd love to see the result!
Has visto el flip animado tipo comic de master of universe , un tuto cm ese seria genial
Of all the tutorials on UA-cam this one I think I can do!
Fantastic! Glad we could help!
is it possible to add interactivity to a motion comic like this? By interactivity I mean clickable characters that trigger an animation, or clickable decision boxes in a "choose your own journey" kind of way in order to take you to a different page accordingly? or hover activated elements? If this is possible, then on what software and how? Thank you for any help.
I de believe that there are interactive, choose-your-own-adventure style illustrated motion novels/comics.... but I'm not sure that they ever really took off or how to make them. If I ever do, I will certainly make a video about it, though.
You might want to look into ren’py then if you wanna try a visual novel with interactivity .
I was expecting a rigging tutorial and how to cut out characters from pages in photoshop
This one was just about basic camera moves. jayel may decide to make a tutorial about rigging character in the future though,

Thank you! We're glad you think so!!!
At first I was like where is this going… but it’s actually sick when you see it in motion
we're so glad you think so, thanks you! Sorry we missed this comment somehow
Nice video, but the music going to ruin your videos
The music was gifted to us by the incredibly talented musician who created it and were quite proud of it actually.
@@Oneshipress The music is louder than your voice, I never said it was bad music...clam down
@@flowGravity ah, fair enough. We'll keep that in mind next time
