Obscuridad equipped with a pistol and now with access to fan fire can take 1. Fan fire (3shots) 2. 2 free shots from frantic fire 3. 1 free shot from lightning hands 4. Score a kill with a cannon 5. Action from thousands to go for either another action or suppression since she gets the automatic overwatch 6. Two sentinel shots and if any of those score a kill another thousands to go action on the enemy turn. That feels much more busted than a psi amp.
Caerbannog might actually have more benefit from the psi training just to have access to phase walk so flanks can just be set up more. And her tree doesn’t actually have much in terms of pistol benefits. Caerbannog also getting gene modding for memetic skin and other concealment mods would be another way to help set up with her.
@@audioevil112 I keep saying that the person who will benefit most from psi grading is Kainoa, as she has no secondary at all, so there is no tradeoff whatsoever.
Please reconsider using Oscuridad as a Psionic. She has really good skills that utilise the pistol as a secondary which also complement the rest of her build.
Odd: moving forward toward the endgame missions. His Rocket Launchers he's still using: We're doing 4-7 damage and we don't feel like being upgraded to Blaster Launchers.
Christopher, we've talked about it, this is not the blacksite, the blacksite is the one where you get the vial at the somewhat start of the game, this is the forge.
59:51 Have to really argue for "On the Move". With 18 mobility, you are not losing any movement (2x18=3x12), works amazing with Run and Gun (which she can get) and often with your Stealth unit you want to make small movement to peak around corner or open the door. Also evne if you can only shoot once, with 3 Actions and 18 Mobility you can cross 24 tiles and do action, compare to 18 tiles with 2 Actions.
That was a heck of an impressive mission overall. Those were some of your top people, and they definitely showed why. It's pretty clear what they can do when the super-crazy enemies aren't there. One thing about Caerbannog, though, is that she *really* needs whatever aim boost you can get her. We saw here how insanely powerful she is when her shots are landing, but...there's also a reason she's held the Stormtrooper award for about the last 50 episodes. Even some of those flanking shots from high ground weren't 100%, and you really need to be able to rely on her hitting if you're going to bring her to things like Chosen Strongholds or Leviathan.
I hope that Duchess doesn't get retraining. I think her build with the shield and shotgun is extremely potent and her build is one of my favourites amongst the crew. It would be a shame for her to spend yet more time on the sidelines retraining just for the sake of the psionic stuff which likely isn't as good as what her shield build provides.
You mentioned that Caerbannog would be even better if she could reconceal whenever. There is a genetic upgrade that let's you reconceal on full cover! As far as I remember!
Really what Caerbannog needs is an aim boost. We saw in this episode how amazingly powerful she is when she hits her shots, but she's been the lowest Accuracy on the roster for ages for a reason. Even some of those flanking shots from high ground still weren't 100%.
More applicable to last video, but... field tested approach to Legate/Mechapede without sniping last night. Have major shredding on at least one soldier - shredder cannon is the bomb to seriously wound the entire pod when opening on it. Have cannon fodder in no cover for its reaction shot (dominated enemy, psi zombie, etc.). Last soldier that turn frost bombs it. Have another cannon fodder if possible for the following turn for its reaction turn and take it down that turn. Mission type can certainly affect this, but on most missions feel this will work to kill it in 2 turns with minimal collateral damage.
@@shayliakara How is that even a thing? That's just way too many bonuses for a troop. Those units are more powerful than both the Avatars and the Chosen combined..It's ridiculous.
@@pbsixgun6 I mean, that is the point. Some of us play the hardest modes for this game and even Legendary is too easy. So, Reshi made some mods to challenge us, and Odd is having fun with it. Honestly, I find the dodges are frustrating to see (I’m sure they’re even more frustrating to play against!!). You’re right they happen way too often. you already roll a % chance to hit enemies, they shouldn’t then also have a chance to ignore part of that damage
Man, you just will not give Duchess a break! All that time sitting around, and *now* you decide to sideline her another 3 weeks for retraining? Please, whatever you do, DO NOT get rid of her Shield Stability - that's what makes her entire build! Don't take away the thing that actually makes her good just because you decided to psi-grade her without really considering the trade-off. I get that Close and Personal is broken, but she's still really powerful if you'd just *use* her (both in terms of putting her on missions and utilizing her properly once she's out there). You seriously owe her about 6-8 missions compared to virtually all soldiers comparable to her power-wise. Give her Talon Rounds and the RAGE Suit, get her out there, and let her one-shot-crit some stuff. On a more general note, you've got at least one, and possibly even two, Avenger Defenses coming in the very near future. You really need to be careful about how many people and how much gear you're sending off the ship, given what's coming.
So hyped to see this missions, the progress looks really interseting and more is starting to get worked on, just great!!!! Love Old Man's voice lines, but... To me, Cybernetic's are as good if not better. Of course, they're in Spanish and who has time to understand that unless you are a native speaker, lol! Lots of thanks for this amazing series!!!!! 😁
I think having the extra soul merge gem allows you to soul merge, unmerge, and soul merge again in the same turn granting 2 actions to someone else. If I recall from the last mission future gift farms was on with the runaway legate, it looks like when you deactivated one soul merge, it went on cooldown for I believe 3 turns, but the other one was still able to be used. Just thought I'd bring that up since you said you weren't sure why you didn't remove the soul merge gem from the psi amp
True, this allows to use soul merge more often. Basically our Psi-supersoldier can just distribute actions (and I belive also buffs) 66% of the time (if you do 1/turn, then you do 2 merges every 3 turns). Its funny how Cybernetic is essentially fighting with someone else's hands most of the time, cause he has Domination, Compulsion, Mind Controls from other Psionic abilities and soul merges. He could basically leave the rifle at home with all those abilities. Even if he wants to do things himself, he still has Null Lance and other offensive psi abilities.
I think one way the hunter could be made a more intimidating Chosen is if his tracking shot prevented a unit not just from moving, but from taking any action at all lest they take damage
Suggestion for covert missions that are likely to get ambushed: take repeaters on your soldier, wipes the first reiforcements easily and also if you are playing it safe and waiting for patrols you get a lot of utility from them.
I think it’s worth considering dropping the Avatar project progress heavily if you get the chance. Only because earlier in the campaign you said the number of Dark Events are linked to the progress? I’d normally say keep the difficulty but I do think the Legate and the Mechapede are just unreasonable enemies at this point so if they’re and their delete a unit skills are here to stay and put you in analysis paralysis then less of the dark events are reasonable responses 😁
Legates seem like they could be somewhat countered, but I do not see any good option against the Mechapedes. For Legates it seems to be important to set them on fire, as their mechanic makes the burning apply damage every time they get hit - which is very helpful. Combine that with some units that can shoot many times a turn (maybe even as a free action) and you could bring legate down in one turn. And their damage reduction kicks in only after they loose some health, while Mechapedes seem to have it always on. I did not play this though, so that are only my ideas from watching and reading descriptions.
@ I get what you’re saying and definitely there’s a method to face them but for me those are the types of units I’d look at in game, play against once or twice and just loose all enjoyment and motivation for the campaign because it’s not a strategy unit it’s a you have to employ this one strategy to take this unit out immediately or there’s a good chance you’re losing someone type of unit. I know a few of the other requiem units have specific safe strats like the shnanim and the malakims with poison but if you’re lacking then you can still try hiding or overwhelming it with firepower. Legate and Mechapede are just 2/3 turn damage sponges with an evens chance of killing a unit or two is how I see them but I do like your strats to try fight the legate.
wdym "unreasonable", legate battle was the only part that I didn't fast forward last mission, they give at least some challenge. Watching missions like today's, where chosen does nothing and is removed in 1 turn and other enemies can't even break shield is very boring: with sentinels + multiple shot abilities all weaker advent are just wiped in one turn
@@ForjGaming the main missions have somewhat of a soft cap to them unless it was removed by the mods so it was never going to be super hard but for me it’s the difference between the Legate/mechapede and the Altar and that heavy mech blaster thing, I can’t remember the name. The latter two can devastate the field if you let them but you can think of where to position your soldiers, break line of site, take out other targets and try to give them minimal chance to fire at you while you move units strategically to handle it. The legate and the mechapede if they can see you and want to fight them regardless of positioning or equipment there’s a good chance they can delete a unit each turn so you have to focus them down which you nearly almost can’t in a turn or cross your fingers and to me that’s not a fun challenge that’s just a punishment.
Psionics ex Machina is just not a very good fit with Amalgamation at all. Frequently, the secondary and tertiary classes have conflicting sidearm access already. Needing to equip a psi-amp just gives you a third option and usually it's not all that good. You wind up watering down your soldiers. The loads of abilities are cool, but it just doesn't seem worth it for a variety of reasons. Mainly, it's a huge, huge trap to invest in early and seems very underwhelming in payoff late. Between the randomness of gems and then having to grind hard to even get reliable access to them, and THEN you have to give up on basically two thirds of a soldier's training and THEN you have to hope they get a good psi grade.... I think it'd work better with the base game or a different class system.
Ok for those who say he isn’t using rocket launchers…he is using rockets as heavy weapons. If you upgrade rockets or get blaster bombs, they go in the same place!
Chosen Hunter is the weakest chosen by far, maybe make his lockdown ability trigger if they take action not just moving, or buff sniper damage or HP /(he is squishier than the others). Not sure tbh, he seems to waste alot of actions as well. please end him first if he is gonna stay like this
