Reviews:
"For the inquisitive minds about the inherent flaws in our current monetary system and how money works in general, this simplified overview of Bitcoin is truly refreshing. Many complex issues about the protocol is explained in laymen terms to enable any family member to appreciate the invention for what it accomplishes. The internet of money has been spawn and naysayers would one day regret not having explored this invention beyond first misconceptions. This documentary provides a great intro into the early adopters' lives and why the community is blossoming in a time when the rest of the world is sinking deeper into depression and debt. It invites one to look beyond mainstream misrepresentations and that it is only a black market currency. Great documentary indeed. Would recommend it to any friend." Written by dawiepoolman on IMDb.com
"I watched and totally enjoyed it. It is quite easy to watch and almost completely non technical which is good for the non-bit-coiners. It covers basically all the highs and lows of bit-coin from almost day one and right up to the fall of the biggest exchange .
There is no hiding of all the problems bit-coin had and faces in the future but at the same time it is very optimistically told (of course).
Even if you are not interested in investing in this- it is good to know what it is all about- and this movie can introduce the subject in an interesting way .
It would be interesting to hear an opinion of someone who basically doesn't know anything about bit-coin - whom I think should really be the people to watch this." Written by ari-saltiel on IMDb.com

"say im going to college because my dad mines bitcoins" this aged extremely well congrats to him for having conviction.
Sending his kid to college is a mistake lol
@@underworldgodhades yes most of the time but if Bitcoin paid for it then the debt problem is gone and maybe kid becomes a blockchain developer for some altcoin lol
I'm sure he ended up just buying his kid a college.
Best Bitcoin Documentary, hope there is part 2 on the making. Thanks
same i want it now
Early footage of vitalik before ETH is nuts.. this was so well made
I might never own ONE bitcoin now at the end of 2023 but I know I'm going to keep trying for a few more years.
Uhh you got like .25 bitcoin? Cause if price goes up you'll probably never get half a bitcoin
Count in satoshi. You don't have 0.1 BTC but you have 10 millions satoshis
You are storing what wealth you have outside the system. That is what is important.
My cousin and I predicted people would talk about Bitcoin this way when Bitcoin was still $80
@@marekvbeekdo you regret for not buying it?
who is here before it reached $1 million?
This has to be one of the best, if not the best, documentary on Bitcoin!
"Everyone gets Bitcoin at the price they deserve."
Seeing the price of 1 BTC in this documentary is heart wrenching to say the least 😩
The best part of the experiment of Bitcoin is that is more scarce then gold, and thus makes his purchasing power over any fiat much more valuable. So much, that fiat cant print enough money to buy more Bitcoin, meaning price will go up for infinity. We are still so early. Stack sats and enjoy the ride :)
People will say the same thing in 10 years , best time to buy was yesterday, second best time is now
@@BrentSchmurdathis!!!
its still crazy early
Excellent documentary. As an early adopter... I've certainly seen the ups and downs. As we shake out the tree sotospeak... I keep focus on the technology and its unlimited power.
i keep focusing on stacking sats towards becoming a whole coiner hopefully some day! :) :)
this is the best documentary of btc in history after 5yrs this video will be huge.
Whoever had the foresight to make these videos is genius.
What an amazing documentary, one of the best I have watched ever.
Need part II of this 🔥
Bruh the footage of 20$ being .9 btc is painful 😩 wish I was old enough to buy some back then.
It’s still early bro in 10 years it will be 1 million or more
Maybe this is exactly what most kids today will say in the future, talking about the price of today 😅
People back then thought they missed the buying opportunity when bitcoin was from 1 dollar to 33 dollars, and then to the 70s and crash again, and then to 266 and then back down to 70s, even if it crashes now, chances are in favor of it rising again as bitcoin becomes more adopted. From 1 dollar to 70k per coin, it’s only been 13 years, if you invest long term, a decade or more, bitcoin will surely be over 500k as there will be less and less bitcoin able to buy as miners mine less from halving
Thank god your old enough now
Let's face it, most of us wouldn't have held onto it
oh boy this has aged so so well !
Great!!. Love that you thought to document the journey. Today documentaries produced outside of the main stream are fantastic. It's great to be part of this revolution.
The fact that this was recorded back in those days make it more amazing to watch!
And not released until 10-12 years later makes it amazing. I hope there is a part 2
This video continues to age very well.
I wish i could understood crypto in 2008 when i had money in the bank not knowing how to invest it.
I also remember my email being spammed with bitcoin to buy for extremely silly money.
I thought it's some online gaming scam.
This is old and has been re-uploaded countless times but is still THE best documentary on Bitcoin ever made. Brings you back in time and makes you understand why Bitcoin is so magic, fun and revolutionary at his core.
Let's go 2024!, 🐂 🎉I'm late to the game, but buying Bitcoin and cryptos this last year.
Later Than Never! Welcome to the Club!
You are early , bro . Don't worry, just DCA and enjoy the ride ...
Same here😊
Excellent video. Bitcoin is separation of money and state. A perfect incorruptible ledger. You should be highly skeptical of anybody who says you should stay away from it.
You should be skeptical of literally everything, including Bitcoin(as a bitcoiner)
Well no 51% attack if it's expensive
"When someone offers you a seat on the rocket, you don't ask which seat...you just get on the rocket" 👌
It’s amazing. Looking back at these timelines with bitcoin. Imagine what they’ll be saying in the future about where we’re at today with bitcoin.
This is phenomenal! Part two please! Ashame about the downfalls of some of the companies. But Bitcoin superceded and still said to be rising 🤯🤯🤯
OUTSTANDING documentary!
I stumbled upon Bitcoin in 2012, read some stuff and closed the Tab. My biggest regret in life because I was like "sounds cool man, ok back to Counterstrike", I guess I was just too young
Never too late
So did you buy some today?
Incredibly well made documentary on the history of Bitcoin!
why im only see this documentary now??🙃
What difference would it make if you saw it 10 years ago?
7 years ago could have made me rich
I love this... Jah bless DeFi crypto..JAH bless Bitcoin
This is the best time to invest in cryptocurrency. Next year is Bitcoin halving when bitcoin price will skyrocket. It pains me I still can't trade profitably. Please how do I trade or invest to make good profits now and in 2024?
love love this. we are 2023. and btc is the future. love of my life
well made . not a rushed up video with europhic music about bitcoin billionaires
Why was this video re-uploaded? I remember watching this on UA-cam many years ago.
Part 2 would be amazing. Enter Saylor, the ETF’s etc etc it’s a fascinating story to be told.
Web3 Infinity Token's governance model sets it apart. Decentralization at its finest!

Bitcoin is sound money for sovereign individuals. DCA and hold in cold storage.
Excellent documentary!!! Thanks for sharing. Surfing and BTC for life!
This documentary is surreal, it actually feels like it was 40 years ago but in reality it was only 10-14 years ago (when my son was born), I was pre-occupied so did not get in until 2019. I remember the BBS before the internet this feels similar to that time when i was nerding out and discovering all sorts of media and i remember i was very early on sharing files etc but I kinda missed the ball on this. However I still go in early enough and I feel like I am still trying to explain to people why this is not stupid or used only by criminals. Which i know means i am early.
I feel like buy btc and just HODLing would have been better than minning in the early days..investing into more coins was better than wasting so much on minning equipments.
Yeah but without them there wouldn’t be any btc
Bitcoin is here to stay.
Amazing Documentary
Need a Part 2!!! Amazing Documentary!
It's been almost a decade since this documentary was made. Now would be an appropriate time to make Part 2. Bitcoin could be well over $100K in 2024.

Wow!
As a relatively new libertarian this dokumentary makes me very sad not to be into it 10 years earlyer. Sounds like great times.
But its also sad to see what some of the people in the film has developed to...
Great documentary

excellent documentary. thanks.
How do I get in touch with Dan from the video?
37:19 fast forward 10 years later, he's super on point about the infrastructure.
I remember when bitcoin hit 15 and was a big deal. Biggest flaw to me is the idea that there isn’t manipulation or price is tied to scarcity
I owe .52 Btc and im proud. Aint much but im a broke boy hoping for a change of lifestyle
what is the date of this documentary??
Did you watch it? Looks like it was taken around 2012 and beyond
PSA: Snowden has said with AI using Bitcoin is (eventually) going to be as public as using Visa or Mastercard. AI will be able to trace all public transactions (running a node is free) and analyze all transactions to be able to infer habits and identify people and what they buy.
Why do I love everything about this in my early 30s and didn’t look at it twice as a teen 😢
Man Ive heard an Episode about Bitcoin in Africa (What Bitcoin does Podcast) and 01:15:00 was spot on!
The way Mark Karpeles played Fur Elise is the way he ran MtGoX

Love the optimism.
Won't the government monsters eventually gain some evil control over this?
Vitalik before ETH, damn
What happened to Dan?
Real money, free from the hands of corrupt politicians.Giving us back the power and authority to control our hard earned cash. Thanks to all those who contributed to the establishment of cryptocurrency.🙏🇿🇦👍
Great documentary
I wish I know BTC earlier
We all do.
A coin that everyone should be able to create, trade, use and given to all by government with easy access. Earning coins by walking, talking in different languages/learning to talk in different languages, driving, sitting, gaming, studying etc…
one of the best as not the best docu!!
The idea of a decentralized form of money is brilliant, and it would create opportunities for people in developing countries without access to the regular banking system etc. However one thing I don't quite understand is that I don't really see a new way of equality or fairness in financial power. Yes, early adopters are doing very well, and hats off to them for it, but each and everyone joining the system will start at the bottom of the pile, not only that but it automatically makes current bitcoin owners exponentially wealthier in comparison. In that sense there is not much difference to the current system, only the players have changed. If somebody has ideas about this more moral side of a decentralized system, I'd be happy to hear about it!
Those invested in bitcoin early on may be reaping the financial benefits of investing early on but I don’t think they have the ability to control the flow of money in the same way a centralised government can. That’s the difference with decentralisation. If I owned a million bitcoin, I might be a big player but I can’t stop or somehow control you for using the blockchain technology and bitcoin to make your own transactions
@@andjammor Thank you for sharing! Just wondering can't larger bitcoin owners influence bitcoin pricing by means of selling or buying pressure?
I do think the decentralized aspect is great, I just don't like the wealth inequality aspect of it. Let's say everyone steps into Bitcoin over time, then the latest people joining always get the least Bitcoin-bang for their buck, the earlier you stepped in, the wealthier you automatically get. When it comes to the storage of wealth aspect of Bitcoin, it resembles a pyramid scheme, although I know it's not the same. 🤷♂
Crypto is a scam to make you think something is remotely being done to solve this issue. Remember Yeshua is King, no greater riches can be found accept for in Him
@@northernwaves It doesn't matter when you step into Bitcoin, the idea is not to get rich from it, but to preserve your wealth and move it freely. If you get into Bitcoin when it is around 100 mil $, and you only have savings to buy a few thousands sats, its ok, those sats will be more valuable when you need them, not less (as it is with fiat savings). That's the main goal of Bitcoin, store of value (digital gold) and the freedom of movement. Sure, some will get rich from it, but you can view them as founders who put the trust and work into the system, and now they can reap the rewards. Better than the bankers that get rich by printing money and getting bailed out by the government, right ? :)
@@northernwaves >Just wondering can't larger bitcoin owners influence bitcoin pricing by means of selling or buying pressure?
They will influence the bitcoin pricing in FIAT terms, but not in bitcoin terms. In a sens you are right, but when looking at bitcoin only it doesn't change how it works or its value: 1BTC=1BTC
>the latest people joining always get the least Bitcoin-bang for their buck, the earlier you stepped in, the wealthier you automatically get
Again in terms of fiat money, yes. But in terms of bitcoin only, not really. Its the same for everyone at any given time. Plus if we still speak in fiat terms, then as the fiat value often change you can have several opportunities to buy cheaper. It's the market "game". The more risks you take, you more benefits you may have.
>it comes to the storage of wealth aspect of Bitcoin, it resembles a pyramid scheme
That's because most people look at it in terms of fiat money. What bitcoin really store is electrical energy (it stores data processed by electrical energy). It's value represent the amount of energy used to secure the network. It doesn't have value because people believe it has. It has value because it is used (borderless payments, be your own bank...) and because energy is used to secure it.
Where can i trade bitcoin?
Lesson to learn here kids; the federal reserve does not like competition
lesson number 1
So mad at my self for not dumping my money into this in 2011 when i first heard about it. Right before it jumped to 300 then 3000$ i wouldve sold it at 3000 probably but if i knew then what i know now. Holy shit.

Bitcoin ETF has been approved. cheers guys!
IN 2017 I WATCHT A DOCUMENTARY THAT THE CIA CREATED BITCOIN OR WAS WORKING ON THAT KIND OF THING BUT I CAN NOT FIND IT ANYMORE
Best quote was, "It's not worth anything, but..." so Bitcoin essentially is as worthless as paper money. It's value is only present when everyone believes it has value.
Value is always subjective. Everything only has the value that people give it.
The next buyer gives it value@@janstr
It's as worthless as paper money until they start to print paper money out of nowhere when bitcoin has a schedule release and scarcity
