Another great and insightful video! This really helps to explain how there are no hard and fast rules for a monster to achieve an altered state, with the conditions varying between each and every one of them - some people are under the impression that these states are essentially a glorified second enrage, so this is quite helpful. I’m quite fond of permanent altered states that serve as a “second phase” of sorts that supersedes the standard neutral and rage states, with Bloodbath being the prime example of this. I love how he gradually grows more difficult throughout the hunt, with his moveset becoming more complex, forcing you to adapt and fast. It seems like we’re getting more monsters like this in Wilds, hence Doshaguma.
It was an especially tough task to research and find out which ones were actually altered or not. And definitely, I hope there are more non-elder dragons that have a permanent altered state
0:50 Actually, Kushala Daora can also get exhausted, though it seems to only lose stamina when it has the full black wind aura up for a while, as a mechanic to give the player a break if they can't handle the wind aura. By sheer technicality, Arch-Tempered Xeno'jiiva also spawns into the fight exhausted, which you can see on the minimap if you do the hunt many times in a row, but it's not something you'll ever see directly, and instead seems to be an AI quirk the developers implemented to get it to move to the 2nd arena immediately at the start, because it spawns in the 1st arena even in the AT fight.
Since 4th gen some elder dragons have exhausted states. Not as common but in world teo swipes slower. Still stamina steeling moves don't work on them. I think they made it to give some new hunters a break especially since kushala's harder to hit with flying and wind aura.
@@MahnsterHunter I've seen Kushala do the exhausted animation in MHGU as well, and it's probably in 4U as well, but I have never fought Kushala enough there. In World, it definitely shows the exhausted icon with full scoutfly level. Some databases for Rise and World have the base stamina of monsters, and they list Kushala having a stamina value, which other Elders besides Nergigante do not have.
0:50 the reason nergigante specifically exausts but not elder dragons is because nergigante is not a real elder dragon somewhat, it preys on elder dragons through sheer brute force somewhat like rajang but more advanced since he digests their blood so he gains regenerative abilities like you see with his spikes.
@@MahnsterHunter i think so, its still immune to traps and drops elder dragon blood and gems but unlike other elders it doesn't seem like that old of a monster or to have supernatural powers, sorta like how akantor and ukanlos are immune to traps and such but don't drop ED stuff and may not be that old, otherwise they aren't that different from lao shan lung and the sort.
Nergigante is a real elder, but the process of growing multiple large monsters worth of energy-dense spikes would take its toll on any monster. Remember, nergigante shoots them out like a teostra does blast powder, but those are entire, solid, fully functioning organs it's replacing by the minute
@@themelonzone38 Nergi is also on the smaller side for an elder dragon, so its aggressive hunting style means that it spends a higher amount of energy than other bigger elders, comparatively, and as a side effect ends up actually exhausted.
@@MahnsterHunter Yep. It was THE invader monster. You even got a warning that it showed up AS YOU ENTER THE HUNT. It's got a lot of states, and has a special version of it with even more forms ^-^
1:00 I'm kinda confused here, in the text box you've written that in base state the movepool is not restricted but in the voice-over you've said it is, it is a typo or the fact that is 5 am is messing with me a bit? 😅

The Xeno one I've heard about, Kushala on the other hand is new to me. Is that from World specifically?
@@MahnsterHunter That's also a thing with Rusted Kushala in 4 Ultimate iirc
I hate fighting R. Kush in 4 so I leave that thing alone but I might run back to it in the name of science

Super cool video bro!🤙🏾
I appreciate that!

Ahhh so its like Kirin being classified as an elder dragon because the guild doesn't know what to label it as, right?

Lol oh yeah and they're counted as flying wyverns. Such confusing lore I swear.

Thank you for the video! Really great content!
Thanks, and thank you for watching!
Very well done video thanks for sharing
Thank you very much, and thank you for watching!
If you want to see a monster with many phases, I suggest looking into Unknown from MH Frontier. That thing had more forms than Goku, and looked epic.
They just straight up called a monster unknown? I'm hearing a lot of Frontier monsters are cracked beyond belief

0:01 Toukiden 2 what a nostalgic game
Needs a sequel furreal
I'm not the only toukiden 2 player, it seems?
A fellow slayer with taste, I see
Nice to see Toukiden
It deserves a sequel, I need it

Daamn that is definitely a typo. Big yikes big yikes
I thought this was a Vars video from the thunbnail
Major inspiration for the thumbnail style
what's the monster in super rage part?(4:23-4:37) Looks cool asf
that's gore magala
then it has another even higher form in frontier, its just insanity and I remember nearly carting on every.single.dam.hit😫
good thumbnail
Thank you, thank you~
Can't Kushala become exhausted in 4U? I can clearly remember Rusted pausing to breathe
It probably does, but I hate fighting it so I barely go back to it. I gotta get some field results
what was the game in the intro?
Toukiden 2, its on steam, playstation, and PS Vita
