Thanks for the great video! FWIW, the Singer 9960 manual seems to show the thread on the auxiliary spool unwinding in the opposite direction than shown here, i.e., causing the second spool to spin in a clockwise direction rather than a counterclockwise direction. Stated differently, the manual shows the second spool thread unwinding from across the front of the second spool rather than from around the back of the spool. I don't if this matters or not, or if this has to do with trying to keep the threads from fouling each other when unwinding.
I really wish you had zoomed-in close when you were threading the needle I have only watched one other video and I believe that you are only supposed to put one thread through the little hook I can't remember
The instructions on Page 86 of the Singer 9960 manual says for the second auxiliary (vertical) spool to not place the second thread through the needle bar thread guide "for best sewing results": "4. Push the Auxiliary Spool Pin with felt washer into the hole. 5. Place second spool of thread and thread second thread the same as first. 6. For better sewing results, do not place the thread into the needle bar thread guide. Thread right needle eye by hand from front to back."
@@billwatkins276 I actually just used the twin needle a few days ago even though my comment was two years ago wow. And I watched another video where the guy had a brother sewing machine and he also did not put both threads through the guide. And there’s another gal who does some videos on this machine and she started talking about adjusting the tension whereas this lady didn’t talk about it at all Sure enough I had to adjust my tension down the number four
The manual I have for this machine states I should only use a Singer Style 2025 twin needle and that other needles may break. What needle do you use? I'm having trouble finding the one they suggest... Also, thank you muchly for the video. You make it look so easy! :)
Had the same problem : ) . You might try searching for 2025s again. I don't know if it was a supply chain issue or not, but more Singer 2025 needle types started showing up on Amazon as of 2/21/2022. (Be cautious as a "2024" needle also comes up. No idea if these would work.)
The Singer 9960 manual has this note about that on the bottom of page 86: Note: Twin needle sewing may be used with decorative & letter stitch patterns by pressing twin needle button. Twin needle icon will appear on the LCD.
Thank you so much for this! I was looking all over for the place to put the thread holder.
Oh my goodness! It looks so easy and I’ve been procrastinating trying to get it for tooooo long!!
Love all your videos very clear and easy to understand. Thank you
Omg I spent hrs looking at these amazing videos this machine has to offer 👌🏽👌🏽

This is fantastic! Thank you so much! It's exactly all the details I needed

She said you can pull them both through the little hook and threads in either needle. Hope this helps.
@@cherylmckinney9066 I can't remember if the manual goes into any detail

I think you can use any twin needle but just remember she said they come with different widths between them. I want to try this for sure.
