You can tell he feels every word he sings, and that's why he always gives such emotional and energetic performances
He has great insight into the human condition. He can invent characters and stories from whole cloth; he can write vulnerable lyrics that are very close to what he is going through personally and how he feels at a certain point in his life; he can write silly wordplay off-cuff-lyrics that are very funny; he can sound aggressive, selfish, very sexual, pompous or kind, sensitive, naive and childlike. His depth of knowledge about the history of popular music in America and of all aspects of making music is deep and just continues to grow. And yes, he takes his live performances seriously but clearly experiences joy performing and feeding off the energy of the crowd. Did I mention that he is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, technician, entrepreneur and has a great sense of visual art and design?
I've seriously fallin back in love with his music again, I haven't heard it in so long but I am going back and listen to his White Strip music again, He is such a thoughtful man. "I know we are gonna be friends" is a classic

Jack doesn't just sing, he wails and makes what he's feeling in the moment of performance so palpable. When he and the band plays, it only amplifies that even more. His voice could end wars, incredible 💙
people need to stop describing things as having the power to "end wars" because OBJECTIVELY there has never been anything with that kind of power... because in case you were living under a rock, war is still happening LOL... nobody has ended it yet....

Mixing was still a bit ???, especially when the guitar came in. Sooo fucking loud. SNL Has the worst sound in the industry, and I think it has to do with something about not being able to do proper rehearsals, or that the stage changes format from sound-check to performance.

You know he was probably thinking of Meg and his children during the writing and recording of this song. I’ve never seen such connection by live between two people than I have with Meg and him. You know he’s probably got the same thing going on with his kids too.
