For the spinner to work in Ikari Warriors, just map the spinner to Positional Analog. Remember to enable mouse input for the game so MAME recognizes it.
X-Gaming used to make a trackball only unit with 3 buttons on each side. The buttons did the same thing on both sides and I never used the ones on the right side. I just replaced one of the those buttons.
No, I'm right handed. When I play something like Golden Tee or Missile Command, I have my right hand on the trackball and hit the left side buttons with my left hand. I literally never used the buttons on the right side so that's why I put the spinner there.
This is a great list - all the chapters. Would be great if you included the rom names next to the games as seeking them out is one more step that could be saved
one other suggestion - when I'm jumping through the video to pick games I'd like to include in my library, I have to find the beginning of the game you're showing because the title remains for a short period of time. This means it's easy to miss similar looking games like arkaniod 1, 2, 3. I'd leave the titles up for the duration of the featuring.
Most of my favorite arcade games have utilized spinner controllers. I think it's the ability to simultaneously make make very precise, and very large movements that makes them feel so natural. I'm curious how you constructed this setup. As far as I can tell, it looks like you replaced the right joystick in the X-Arcade Tankstick + Trackball with the TurboTwist II. Am I correct?
The joystick is completely separate from the X-arcade trackball controller. It's the same one used in my Analog Flight Stick videos as well as the Star Wars racing video. You can separate the throttle and stick as I did in these videos.
Hi there! Thanks for post these videos. Lots of spinner games I didn't know about! I was wondering, did you set these up based on the "turn count" information page that tells the sensitivity for all these games or did you just adjust it until it felt right? I think it would take FOREVER to go through each one of these and set them all arcade accurate.
I usually just go by what feels right to me. What's in these videos was certainly done this way so they might not be accurate. Sometimes I will try out the turn count settings that have been posted.
Hi, looks like x-arcade tankstick with spinner/wheel, could you pls tell how did you make it? where can I get this spinner/wheel? thx!
It's actually not a tankstick. It's a standalone Trackball controller that they used to make. I just removed a button and the spinner is a Turbo Twist 2 which is designed to fit into a standard button hole.
driving with the wheel doesn't look any different from using the spinner. i like holding wheel with 2 hands but the wheel mounted like that would be my only option. this video is helpful
They offer 3 different sizes of wheels. The one I have is the smallest at 5". The largest is 7".
DarthMarino
thanks for the reply. i just emailed Randy about the ease taking the wheel off. I have what you have ..but i'd put the spinner on the left..i'm a lefty...but..if it's out of the way playing regular 1 player i could learn to play with my right hand or assign the fire buttons to both sides?
AL BUNDY The wheel just slides right off. It takes a few seconds to switch between the spinner knob and the wheel. I’ve never used the buttons on the right side of that controller so I put the spinner there.
@@DarthMarino where can I find those wheels?
@@mariopatino823 The one in the video is a TurboTwist 2 which you can get from Groovy Game Gear. There is also the GRS button hole spinner which is a cheaper option. There's a few other options. Just search for "USB arcade spinner" if you want to use it on your PC.
how are you accelerating while driving ? pedal or holding a button
I have a set of pedals that you can't see in the video.
DarthMarino
i guess you need pedals to keep from going top speed?
AL BUNDY Is your game defaulting at top speed? Maybe reverse the pedal analog in the analog controls.
Championship Sprint looks amazing... What kind of pedals are you using?
I use the pedals from my standard racing wheel. Back when I made this it was my Xbox 360 wheel. Nowadays I use my Logitech G27 pedals.
Hi, great videos. I have a Logitech G25 with pedals. Is it possible to use this on MAME? My setup is an old arcade cabinet with an x-arcade dual tankstick with retropie on a raspberry pi. Is that possible? Thanks in advance.
Are you left handed? asking cause I think I maybe want to do the same thing with my x-arcade trackball but since I am right handed...
where did you get that Digital Pachiko machine? and are there more?
What joystick did you got with? and does it come with its own UBS cord - or do you tap into the X-Arcade controller?
+tmnichols3 Its just a standard USB flight stick in the video. Probably not the ideal stick for these games since it's analog.
0:50 what's the name of this game ? Looks so cool.
The game names are in the descriptions. I had youtube tags for each game but they no longer work. It's Moon War.
@@DarthMarino i once searched moon war got completely different looking game. Apparently the one you played was the prototype version, it's so unusual that the game's prototype and commercial version are completely different.
@@phj9894 It is odd. I have the other game in part 4 of this video listed as MoonWar without a space.
cool but the joystick how does that work?
how did you get the spinner to work with ikari warriors?
Se devo giocare la super sprint in quella maniera piuttosto mi faccio inculare 😂😂😂😂
How do I get Puzzle Loop 1 and 2 to work with analog., there are no settings in the Mame options ?
Did you switch to "knob controller" in the service menu?
