I was healthy 32 female and 2 weeks after second Pfizer I got Raynauds, then Erythromelalgia and POTS and contstant swaying dizziness for more than 1 year. I still cant walk a lot due to erythromelalgia and its been two years. I have private medical insurance so went to about 30 specialists in the UK all but one were totally useless and always completely against an idea that it was the vaccine that caused it. I was treated by all doctors like I am some kind if idiot for even saying this. I hate that they were so patronising when they are the ones that are suppose to help. I never want to see a doctor again in my life unless its emergency treatment or a broken bone.

The Long Covid Specialist GP in Cambridge just asked me loads of questions about my relationship status and then when i quizzed him he said that 'sometimes...when something is missing from people's lives the mind affects the body'...(i've been happily single 6 years). What a huge presumption to make-that maybe i'm ill because what?...I need a good seeing to?! So patronising. I have made a formal complaint and asked for a referral. :)

When onset is so acute and clearly following an event such as vaccination I dont know how any logical person can dismiss that but as women we are made out to be depressed hypochondriacs. I was given antidepressants by 4 or 5 (male) doctors but I didnt take them. It was beyond frustrating. I was lucky I did meet one doctor who helped, he gave me LDN low dose naltrexone and I have improved a lot. But this whole experience sucked.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Try a holistic approach bc that’s what worked for me. Cleansing the gut (don’t forget to add pre & probiotics along with a GERDs diet (I drink aloe vera juice without added sugar) & enzymes like Nattokinase. This improved my health significantly as I recovered from LC. And yes, no one believed me either. 😢

Long Covid has been trending on X. If posters aren't dismissing LC as mental illness they are blaming it on the V. More than once I've baffled someone with such views by saying I haven't had a V since the 90s but still have LC. I worked in a hospital in the 90s and had a barrage of V's. A year later I got EBV and chronic post viral fatigue (ME). There was a perfect storm of contributing factors at the time that created my ME, but I've often wondered if those early V's contributed to kneecapping my immune system.

    • @adamwhitfield5571
      @adamwhitfield5571 7 місяців тому

Yeah I see the first one you mention. "Dismissing LC as mental illness".
But don't let your personal experience shit your mind to other real issues. Like, yes, covid caused this, and yes the Poison they sold as a V is causing this in my fiance right now for 2 years. Now, she got the poison. But never got the wuhon thing. And has debilitating symptoms. We thought was thyroid. Her then claiming "the wuhon thing isn't causing LC" wouldn't be accurate, just like saying "the Poison sold as V isnt causing it.
It's the same thing. It's both causing this in people. And in my case. I had a severe infection years ago and needed strong antibiotics for over a year. and now here I am, no poison, and very weak wuhon thing last year, and I have LC symptoms. Severe brain fog, confusion, always tired, but can't sleep at night, body fighting itself. So on. So there seems to be several reasons for this. Don't listen to people stirring things. And ask people you trust going through it. That will tell you what's going on.
And, we don't know if they've already put this stuff in our food yet, or if that was just a proposal to do so. So everyone could be getting the jab right now and not know it.

I am not a sufferer but I can't ignore the enormous scope of Long Covid. Gez is still making these videos, not because he wants to keep a franchise going, but because the problem is only growing in scope. As you have experienced, this is a sudden blossoming of post-viral syndromes like EBV, and post-bacterial syndromes like borreliosis (Lyme disease, and Arizona's local variant Arizona Relapsing Fever), fibromyalgia and general ME/CFS. It is hard to ignore the tremendous similarities and there must be great clues in there somewhere, but we are still looking.

      @@flagmichael yes. Very much so!
My fiance started having extreme anxiety. Couldn't handle anything. Including me going to work sometimes. Much less her being able to work. A noise was too much. Crying, sexual sensitivity and function slowly at first, then all together stopped, at 25yo. Hair falling out. Depression, chronic fatigue, swings in retaining water, then losing water month to month, nodule appeared on her thyroid, had to get in hormones to stop the spikes in estro, drop in testosterone, and got on T4 & T3 to lessen some of her symptoms. But only slightly. Poor thing. I watched her go from the most vibrant, loving, outgoing, nurturing woman I've ever met, to crying daily, stressed so much she couldn't stand herself. Thinking she was just crazy. But I saw the difference. We've only just found this long covid thing, and how similar in symptoms she is. After 2 years and 7drs. This has stolen thousands from us. We only hope we can afford now whatever it takes to make her better. We just don't know what to do to make her better. Or even what type of long covid she has.

@@flagmichael bless you for the encouragement. Getting sick for the second time has been a bit like revisiting a home I used to live in. I had forgotten all the nooks and crannies. I've come to the conclusion that life is not a linear path but a spiral of old themes at fresh stages. The internet didn't exist when I was sick before. My isolation and the lack of information was painfully pronounced back then. More than once in recent times I've marvelled how things were and been full of gratitude for how things have changed. Find her Baseline, that means Things she can do from day to day that make her not worse than she is. Repeat this procedure for weaks and weaks, Start implement little steps each week. Improve some steps etc. Everything she does should be in slow motion to calm the nervous system.
The second thing is to respond well to Symptoms, they wont kill her, when they get worse keep calm. The Symptoms are the way Out of this illness. It should be treated for what it is: a Chronic pain illness. Its a very long way, months to years depends to different factors. Best UA-cam Channels are CFS health, CFS Recovery and realan agle. I would recommend to start a Programm Like CFS health If you think she needs the Help from someone experienced. I Made IT With their Videos but without their program Just their information. This is me. I have long covid as a result of my second moderna vaccine. Thanks so much for covering this. Doctors are unwilling to report, aside from a very few. Since we know the spike protein is cytotoxic, I’d like to know if using the spike protein in the vaccines has anything to do with it. If so, I’d feel more comfortable getting non-spike vaccines in the future.
To be clear, I’ve never had issues with previous vaccines in my past.
Luckily, I’ve been getting better slowly over time. But my life isn’t the same and it sucks because people claim anyone who has this happen to them is an anti-vaxxer. For me, I received the vaccine early so this isn’t my position. I just want to know why this happened so that I can be safe moving forward.

Family members some times carry similar immune types and thus responses. My father ended up with Fibromyalgia and I long Covid. It appears to take a strong hit to the immune system to trigger such a drastic response. My dad has cancer and I, in combination with the vaccine, got the flue before onset. In my family it feels like our bodies responded to a threat similarly, provided that the protagonist was sever. Perhaps ME/CFS is a beneficial way for a body to respond to cancer. Shut the energy production down on a cellular level and slow the spread of a thing that eats energy for breakfast. This might give some with this response a chance for their immune systems the time to defeat a threat. If we ever figure out how to turn off ME/CFS some day we might want to trigger it to help those fighting cancer. Perhaps this is not the worst thing on the planet?

I had an abnormal skin biopsy that was consistent with an autoimmune disease but with further testing my rheumatologist was not able to determine what was causing it. All the specific testing came back negative. I believe there is some type of an immune response causing these issues. When I was put on steroids it knocks the symptoms down considerably, but they come back once off of the meds. My doctors all believe the vaccine triggered an immune response that will not shut off.

It was like these symptoms came on suddenly after covid number 1. In July 2022 after a generic cervical screen was told i was HPV+. Given i'm single there was no way to have become positive the normal way given how long ago my last relationship was (we're talking years!) and the previous screen was all clear. It could only have been a dormant virus activation. I raised all these concerns with my GP, the neurologist (who spent only 10 mins with me as she was 20mins late for my appointment) i was referred to at Addenbrookes (a top hospital in the UK!) and a specialist GP at the long covid clinic. All of them dumbed down my concerns re viral persistence and dormant virus activation. They have refused to do any tests at all with regard to t-cell exhaustion, EBV activation, microglial cell activation or cytokine investigation-tests i have specifically asked for saying that, even if they could find anything on a cellular level-there's nothing they could do. I have asked to trial Paxlovid/anti-virals and been turned down. I have had to pay for numerous prescriptions which haven't worked but are what the specialists have told me to try...Propanolol/Candestartan etc..I have been told by the gp that he believes i have a functional condition....my brain is sending wrong signals to my body and was told to use the Curable App to effectively 'think' myself better. He didn't even know who Derek Garraway was...for those of us in the UK even Joe Bloggs down the road knows about Derek's story (he's married to one of our most well known BBC broadcasters). I have shown the UK specialists so many peer reviewed journals showing recent investigation into the tests i was asking for over a year ago. I have had Covid two more times since being vaccinated and in April 2023 (3rd infection) I had chronic migraine and excessive nausea and high fever. I did get rid of the virus though within 5 days (clear LFT test). 3 weeks later i had tonsillitis for the first time ever (i'm 39) and have spent the last two months trying to fight a skin Pseudomonas infection...my legs are riddled with boils that Flucloxacillin will not shift). Prior to Covid i hardly ever went to the GP and was active (very outdoorsy). My GP even used to say to me they hardly ever saw me). I do not know what to do or where to turn now. Professor Iwasaki...if you know of any UK clinical trials into viral persistence and immune activation etc please let me know. I will happily undertake any trial going as i cannot live on part-time hours (i cannot work full-time now) and there is no financial help for a single childfree woman in my circumstances! :-( I will get by financially but my frustration is with UK GP's/specialists either not being up to date with current research, a lack of open mindedness or maybe they just don't want to acknowledge that the patient may be right?... Who knows but still....Where on Earth do I turn now?

I feel much the same as you re: GPs being judgemental and sceptical- I had anxiety put on my record when I first went with (physical!) symptoms... Constantly being fobbed off, put on propranolol and offered nothing else. They haven't even tested me for dysautonomia even though my HR hits 130 from standing up. I'm surprised how similar our experiences are, down to the chronic migraines and nausea as well as HPV- I've been HPV+ since 2020 (first covid infection in march 20, was only disabled by long covid on my 4th/5th in January/march 2023). I do wonder if I am also experiencing a reactivation or whether my immune system is failing to clear it. I'm so sorry you've been going through it and I hope you feel better soon and/or we can get more scientific answers and less bloody psychologising of our very real physical illness by the NHS. 🫂

Thank you - Gez you're doing a great job at keeping us up to date, and Prof Iwasaki's open-minded research at Yale is a real light in the dark (I have signed up, but being UK-based it hasn't really got as far as me yet). Yes, I have had "long covid" symptoms since my first vaccination (AZ, Apr'21), which worsened significantly after the second vaccination (AZ, Jun'21). Blood tests confirmed I had not had the virus at that point, and no other explanation makes any scientific sense of the facts. There's a lot more to this story but suffice it to say that I'm still living with the symptoms (brain fog, unpredictable fatigue). The link to auto-immune conditions seems strong: despite having damaged my immune system in vatious ways, a peculiar and welcome effect for me is that this "long covid" seems to have significantly ameliorated allergies that I've had for 40 years. There is so much still not understood about what's going on here, and I'm just glad that somebody is actually approaching that scientifically.

Hi Gez, hope you see my comment. Thank you for speaking on this topic. I had been vaccinated at work due to compliance August 2021 and became very ill May 2022. I never had Covid at the time nor prior to the event. I had symptoms of severe fibromyalgia with muscle weakness so bad that I could not sit up for more than one to two hours followed by PEM and POTS. I lost my job as a result though to be fair they gave me about a year to recover. However, I could not get back to baseline. If you are wondering, I worked as a busy physician for the past 20 years. Now I live by pacing myself learning to not overdo it so I can be somewhat functional. It has been very hard ,not only physically but also mentally as I have not experienced being bed bound or couch bound. Hi Gez. As always, so grateful for the content that you provide. I am wondering what Prof. Iwasaki's thoughts are about covid vaccines for those who have long-covid. I am a first waver, having been infected with Covid in March of 2020 and then developing severe LC which has continued. I have also had autoimmune issues throughout my life including alopecia areata and Reynauld's syndrome. Even so, I have opted to get all of the vaccine boosters (gotteen Pfizer each time). I had a terrible relapse after the second one and have experienced varying effects ranging from "normal vaccine reactions" to severe exacerbation of LC symptoms from the other shots. The most recent Covid vaccine which I got just over a week ago doesn't seem to have had much effect on my LC symptoms thus far. I have been of the mindset that getting an actual reinfection with the virus would likely be worse than the vaccine which seems like a "controlled dose" so to speak. I'm really curious about your thoughts on this and on what Prof. Iwasaki would say...

      @RUNDMC1  7 місяців тому +3

This is the logic which I used to get vaccinated in the past - however for me the situation atm doesn’t quite add up from the risk / reward side of things. Current vaccines don’t offer much protection from infection, so why pull the trigger on the gun when you might never have to play Russian roulette if you manage your risk? But a very personal decision for everyone and we have to do what feels right!

To my knowledge, the responsible EBV pathology is early latent if anything. But most antivirals and vaccines target the virus itself or its synthesis. You can reduce the latent EBV reservoir with years of virustatic treatment, accepting the accumulating risks for the kidneys. That's not a very effective method though. What we really need is a treatment that targets the early latent pathology of herpes viruses that happens intracellularly. Most herpes proteins that suppress inmate immunity are too similar to our own immune proteins though.
It's also possible that there's an extracellular reactivation signal, an upstream pathology that keeps signaling latent herpes viruses to reactivate. Other viruses can do this, even if they don't cause any direct symptoms themselves. The autonomous nervous system might do this. Is it possible that poor perfusion has the same effect?

My primary suggested my primary OTC l-lysine 500mg and prescription Valtrex 500 mg both three times a day for up to three months or longer. This would be to try to get rid of Epstein Barre. Have you heard od this approach? I have not tried it yet-going natural with intermittent fasting, Wahl’s diet, sun exposure, coke exposure, Stassis breathing, supplements and energy work. I’m still exhibiting cognitive symptoms and PEM.

Rather disappointed with the answer to the first question - ref ‘Cutter incident’ and Salk polio vaccine as well as many instances of vaccine induced polio infections as a matter of history and real life that at least points to vaccines having negative immunological role. The decades of studies by Dr. Christine Stabell Benn of Denmark seems to also point to negative (or at least not generally positive) immunological impacts.

ME sufferers have had it worse in that if you were diagnosed with Post Viral Fatigue then ME nobody cared, no hope nor help (I've had it 28 years) and along comes Covid and suddenly billions poured into research and people are believed: from our perspective thank god for Covid because theres funding, insight and hopefully a cure whereas if ME had had funding then LC probably wouldn't exist for the most part

And i was told that it was your autoimmune issue but all my tests were negative. No autoimmune.
Then vaccine helped with reinfections which i was able to recover.
But somhow i had issues with autoimmune like symtoms which i tackle with going on antihistamine diet and vagus nerve exercise.
Everyone is different so this might not even work coz everything about covid is unpredictable.

Long COVID causes many types of pathogens, including parasites, to come out of remission. There are also many people who have undiagnosed parasites. I consider parasites just another comorbidity that assaults the Immune System.
I can see how an anti-parasite drug could be of great benefit to some Long COVID patients, as well as some of those suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME, Chronic Lyme Disease, Fibromyalgia, MCAS, and POTS.

Sorry, but I just feel anger about this, it was known that this vaccines were rushed, almost every quality standard overlooked and all people with common sense was warning about it outloud: Play stupid games, get stupid prices.
The "solutions" were worse than the course of the virus through the population.
We had to talk more about real science, metabolic health and that low quality food that we have in the market.

Well the vaccines save people from actually dying, so there is that! Millions globally have taken the vaccine and are absolutely fine. But unfortunately like with any medical intervention there are risks and some people will have adverse effects. Does that mean they should be ignored because it is only a minority that experiences this? No of course not they need treatment like everyone else who is sick.
