6:48 I don't think "RAD" is a typo I believe it stands for "Raids and Dungeons". They're saying they'll be making a "Pantheon-like" event but not just for raids
I am high key super okay with going down to 1 raid and 1 dungeon every year if it means that there’s no more dungeon keys and we get a pantheon event every year. That trade off is super worth it imo.
Seeing as they are going back to early D2 release schedules, I wonder if the original D1 light system would work with fresh minds. I liked that being stuck at 29 but still being able to play everything.
I'd like to see pantheon written into the story assume sort of collaborative training scenario that is generate by the big paracasual casters, a team of riven, mara, savathun, ikora, and Osiris use crazy space magic and vex tech to recreate raid encounters. Mostly because it not being written into the story bugs me. It's so cool and we have like, burgeoning time travel understanding, mastery of primal light and dark, awoken, and hive magic not to mention a level of understanding of vex technology that offers us access to vex simulations at a minimum and sometimes pseudo time travel, plus psionic and eliksni tech. Tell me why you can't make this a canonical event?

@@pfannkuchengott8654THEY actually represent the majority of players which is backed by data from warmindDOTio that literally shows no more than 5% of players engage with endgame regularly
I feel like this game needs to be studied in the future when Game Studies becomes a recognised subject of study just to show how ludicrously bad a game could be managed ( concord probably the main focus tbf but destiny is a close top 3)
Bungie: "How do we get more people to play Destiny, and entice former players into returning? How about we cater to our longtime elite players, and make endgame activities even harder, while retaining our criminally-bad RNG and loot drops?". Yeah, Bungie; that should work. 🤣
Ok, I genuinely don’t understand where this idea is coming from outside of maybe focusing the efforts on the DLCs, or Bungie moving away from Destiny. I don’t care if this makes it cheaper, but raids and dungeons are genuinely the best pieces of content the game can have. It’s not even close. The difference between a raid or dungeon and a season activity is insane. To not only only have 1 raid a year as well as 1 dungeon a year, but also probably not bringing back old raids reworked in their entirety is insane. I don’t know what the Behemoth legacy thing is, but I doesn’t sound like it will bring back raids in their entirety. I give Bungie a win in the Banes, but this is genuinely depressing.
A while back Bungie claimed that only about 10% of players have finished a raid. That figure could indicate different things depending on the details: •The majority of players stop playing before they reach the requisite power level for endgame activities •The majority of players only engage in cooperative activities if matchmaking is enabled •The majority of players follow casual playstyles and would rather do more laid-back activities Again, one or more of these could be true, but the end result is the same: Raids (and, to an extent, Dungeons as well) appeal to a relatively small subset of Destiny's community, yet require a great deal of resources and dev time to put together. With discussions shifting so heavily toward onboarding new players, it doesn't suprise me that attention is drifting away from that 10% of hardcore players, and toward that other 90%.
@@TKAandMore Ok, here is my issue with saying that raids only target a small subset of players. Bungie stated that we had 5m+ individual accounts back in Lightfall or WQ, atleast 80% of those players barely touch the game or installed to try it out. Right now Destiny has the issue of its community being almost entirely old players. Raids are by far the most popular activity to players who have been playing the game for long periods of time, and day 1 raid races have some of the highest participation amongst the entire community both in and out of game. Anyways, I now actually think it’s for the better lol. Just the approach to 1 raid every 12 months with new systems and possibly expanded upon throughout the year, as well as the dungeon having a complete item set and armor set all seem better. I also neglected to include the pantheon esc activity in my bias.
What an embarrassing time for Bungie. Never seen a AAA live service game flip flop on their future plans so much in response to their plans failing in real time. Oh, and the reason Frontiers wasn’t better advertised is because they don’t even know what it is.
FACTS. They're coming up with it in real time. And considering all that's happened, if I'm being honest here, it feels like "over delivery" to even lay out plans like what they're pitching... I don't see it happening that way. Wouldn't it be wild if they just stopped and canceled the Frontiers year content/Destiny as a whole? Feel like that could actually happen after Episode 3...Like an announcement about a longer than intended hiatus on development followed by "we thank you for your business and commitment to Destiny. You are forever legend. We'll see you star side...And hopefully within a few years... For a third definitive installment!"
@@FlashesSoccer011 Bungie said siva isn't coming back in the story. They never said wrath wasn't coming back specifically. Dread have simply mechanics to Siva fallen, it can be done
I was expecting these previews to give anything to be excited about and they really are dropping the ball on that front. Very little story teasers, no radical shakeups, nothing other than different modifiers and loot with different numbers and less endgame content than usual. I’m finding fewer and fewer reasons to stay tuned for whatever destiny has to offer
I just won't be the same with the team that were used to for creating content it's gone it's nothing like what it was which is part of the reason why I'm not going to play Frontier
This to me just looks like the current model of "content" repackaged to look different. Essentially "expansion" 1 is just the first two seasons bundled into one "expansion" with the raid and the second expansion is the last two seasons bundled with the dungeon key.
Seems like a big miss to not put together way to get returning players back and make an easy entry for new players. They are catering to the Raiders it would be nice if they added game wide content that was exciting and could be repeatable. This doesn’t seem like a good way to bring the population up.
Raids, the content most people never play. I had hoped to hear something concrete re: Marathon during the State of Play. The silence makes me think they're still deciding if they should just cancel it.
It’s just going back to its og model instead of the seasonal one. If anything, two expansions a year is better because it gives the devs a longer time to make content and they aren’t constantly stressed with crunch.
@Sol_Invictus1997 Og season had months of dried content and saw a massive player drop. Dungeons and raids are a massive part of this game regardless of whether you are a pvper or pver. On top of that, this isn't the og model , we had a raid with each dlc .They also could barely do the 2 dlcs a year the first time they did it. This is just an attempt to save face.

Once I’m finished the episodes I’m completely quitting this game. Frontiers sounds worse with every update. So little content and losing a dungeon or reprised raid is going to sting. They NEED to bring back the vaulted destiny 2 raids at least, that would bring me back for a few weeks at a time
Logged in yesterday to grab the free bright dust, idk why, it’s free I guess. Went to the tower randomly cause I haven’t played in a couple months, 0 players in the tower. I haven’t seen that in god knows how long.
Interesting that they will be adding post-launch Raid content, including new encounters and Raid catalysts. It has been very disappointing to see Exotics launch without catalysts and never have them for so long. And free Dungeon Keys is a boon IMO - these need to be fully retired retroactively. I have friends who I want to take through fun endgame content but a $20 price tag for 1-2 repeatable dungeons (depending on how difficult of a dungeon you want to take on) is brutal on top of buying individual expansions. Getting a full Raid or Dungeon every season or expansion since the 30th Anniversary (December 2021) was very fun but clearly could not be sustained. Who knows how long this series of codenamed expansions will last, but I am hoping they are moving to lighter content now so they can deliver Forsaken-level expansions in the future. I hope they announce the pricing soon. I do not mind paying for the full deluxe expansion as it stands, but two leaner expansions a year combined with 1 Raid and Dungeon might be pushing the $100 price tag.
Honestly I don't mind any of this. One raid, meaning it will likely be a bigger sized raid once all the encounters are added in over time, one dungeon with raid style armor and weapons, raid exotic catalysts are earnable, no more dungeon pass. What exactly is not to like?
Because the rest of the game that the majority of players play could use refreshing as well! The problem is bringing back returning players and making an entry point for new player so the population can grow. What percent of the population in Destiny raids regularly?
What does that even mean? Raid armour and weapons? How is raid armour different from dungeon armour because it has dungeon specific mods? Err… what’s not to like? The fact it’s half as much content as before on top of the fact there are no more seasons or episodes. And they said POSSIBLY new encounters not definitely and not multiple new encounters.
I literally called this shit last year. Another paying more for less situation. I have no sympathy for those who pre-ordered. Reality came to bite you in the ass

I am high key super okay with going down to 1 raid and 1 dungeon every year if it means that there’s no more dungeon keys and we get a pantheon event every year. That trade off is super worth it imo.

RAD = Raids and Dungeons, an acronym for the team responsible for those.
"Oh fuck they did two of these." - Paul Tassi, immediately agter recording this video.
That's a TALLLLLLLLLLLL request at this juncture. Don't you think? Lol!
Don't think they're interested in adding something that meaningful and deep to the narrative. But I like your idea nonetheless.
@@agent00chimp thanks.
I think the real question is are they going to charge for Frontiers? At this point they really should make the entire game F2P. I'm personally extremely exhausted of the game and have no intention of giving them anymore money. I haven't even played in weeks and don't really miss it.
I haven’t given up on D2 but I haven’t played since I couldn’t get the class items solo. Wanted the solstice armor skins but couldn’t bother to grind em out.

@@pfannkuchengott8654THEY actually represent the majority of players which is backed by data from warmindDOTio that literally shows no more than 5% of players engage with endgame regularly
@@pfannkuchengott8654 thank for letting me know. I thought i just didn’t have fun in those raids and dungeons that i did and avoided that.
maybe i’m out of touch, but i don’t think this is bad? it’s okay (and sometimes good) to slow down if we’re getting quality over quantity in the end
That figure could indicate different things depending on the details:
•The majority of players stop playing before they reach the requisite power level for endgame activities
•The majority of players only engage in cooperative activities if matchmaking is enabled
•The majority of players follow casual playstyles and would rather do more laid-back activities
Again, one or more of these could be true, but the end result is the same: Raids (and, to an extent, Dungeons as well) appeal to a relatively small subset of Destiny's community, yet require a great deal of resources and dev time to put together.
So if wrath doesn't come out before frontiers then it probably never will...

Didn’t you miss an article?
The only thing that could bring me back at this point is for them to give us back Wrath of The Machine
This doesn’t seem like a good way to bring the population up.

game is definitely dead.
@@Sol_Invictus1997 The content drought is also returning. 10 years ago its ok, nowadays may be the death of the game.

Given that we’re getting half the content will they halve the annual price? I doubt it.
Meanwhile in forsaken year: 3 raid and 1 dungeon
ITS BEEN FUN FELLAS
Once I’m finished the episodes I’m completely quitting this game. Frontiers sounds worse with every update. So little content and losing a dungeon or reprised raid is going to sting. They NEED to bring back the vaulted destiny 2 raids at least, that would bring me back for a few weeks at a time
Sounds kinda like leviathan. Expanding it throughout the year a la raid lairs
Reprised raids?
What does that even mean? Raid armour and weapons? How is raid armour different from dungeon armour because it has dungeon specific mods? Err… what’s not to like? The fact it’s half as much content as before on top of the fact there are no more seasons or episodes. And they said POSSIBLY new encounters not definitely and not multiple new encounters.
And the idea that it’s going to be bigger is just pure cope
Yep not playing next year💀

At first I hated the dungeon key, now I'm praying they release a standalone dungeon/raid key. Unless something drastic happens somehow, I don't want any of the general content they're offering.
Getting less overall content does sting, no doubt. But if that's the cost of them being able to experiment more and do new shit then I can accept it. Destiny is in dire need of shakeups and experimentation across the board, and if Bungie's answer is "hey we can do that but it means you'll get less of it", then I can tough it out.
I really hope the "raid challenge updates" aren't dev speak for timegated raids. When they say they're going to add "new" loot and "new" ecounters it kinda sounds like they're actually cutting that stuff from the initial raid launch in order to use it as content later. And two raid races per raid? That's going to get tiring.
