As a child of the 90s who was obsessed with the X-men show and the comics of the time, I am deeply offended. That being said, I'm the target market and I'm firmly a half price Hank on this X-jet. Hopefully the rumored X-mansion delivers because this ain't it bub.
It's good to hear from someone that knows this inside out! Because I certainly do not. Is it a mix of the minifigs and the build? Just the build? Or if it was $49.99, would that make it a much better set. Probably all the above!
@@cpafol the Rogue fig is a heater but that’s about it. I imagine most X-men fans have the superior Wolverine. Sure he brings the boys to the yard but weird choices to put the lesser version in this set. They could have done any number of variants for the CMF fig. $49.99 seems unrealistic but $54.99 or $59.99 then wait for a discount later feels about right to me.
I'm glad someone called out the figs from the X-men set. Its important to note that the series that this is based on is from an unreleased series (although it was supposed to come out in early jan, but i haven't checked tbh) called X-Men'97. Which is a sequel series from the original animated series that came out in 1992 and ended in 97. The idea being that this new series carries on where this left off. Which, I guess anyone could google and find out, but I watched this when it was originally airing, every week until I was an adult and it finished. Bearing in mind there was no other animated comic shows at that time and the only marvel content I had seen on TV was the hulk tv show, the captain america and flash movies, all of which were pretty terrible, even then and I had very little knowledge of the comics at that time. But the show was fantastic! It really was the spark the got a whole generation of fans into Marvel and comic characters. The build is really accurate and I love that its blue, rather than the black they changed it to in the movies, but even fans of the movies can relate to the ship, so thats cool. (Although there is a debate to be had about blue/black in comics, so who knows what colour it should actually be) the Rogue fig is 100% accurate and flames, Cyclops is not far off the same, but accurate. I agree with Fabu on the Wolvie, seems a wrird choice, but ok. But where I am so confused is by Magneto?! Why does he look like that? So much different to in the show? He looks more like Micheal Rookers characeter in Suicide squad?! 😂 Maybe he makes some huge change at the start of the new show, granted and I know he was going through some things when the show ended, but its such a far cry from the armoured, short hair, helmet and menacing look from the original show. I would rather them have put in gambit or beast or Jean grey, since she typically piloted the thing, and left Magneto out, atleast until we get used to his new look in the show. That poor minifig choice along with the price makes this a disaster for me!
That one is pretty solid! Imo it should have been a flat $34.99, but LEGO is certainly trying to squeeze what they can out of us! Even if it's just an extra $3 per set. Regardless, it's certainly a great set, and I look forward to picking it up when it's on sale for $29.99!

We should have gotten someone else besides Logan, a 5th fig, and a $60 tag. We've waited this long, what's another year and a half.
