This isnt the only island suffering from climate change. It makes me wonder, if a nuclear missile can cause a nuclear winter, why not do something useful with them other than blowing other people up. If the poler ice caps that are melting, started freezing up again, a lot of these problems would be gone. Contamination would be an issue, but far cry then losing 1/3 of ones country, beneath the waves.
Livelihoods for many groups of people change over time. For many West Virginians, the coal mines closed years ago and they migrated to where they could make a living. Farming across the country has changed and caused migration to other areas. Mills have closed in the rust belt, and people moved. This is no different. The mayor is a big Trump supporter. I wonder what he thinks of a socialist type program where money comes from other areas to support his small community?
