The Apron/Tray is for fly fishing it's a stripping basket so you don't get a wad of tangled fly line in your lap. Nice review. I had a Creek Company ODC420 but it was the biggest piece of junk I've ever bought, the bladders tore at the seam constantly and their customer support stinks, they refused to replace the bladder the second time it happened and Dave in customer support told me I should go with outcast if I'm not happy with their products LOL so I took his advice and my new fish cat 4 should be arriving this week. Thanks again for the review.

I love mine had it for two years. I put my boat away on the hot summer days, and pull out my fish cat 4. They are way better than a kayak for fresh water fishing, because your hands are always free to fish. Even on windy white chop water day I got to shore with no problem.
Agreed. Ive seen some float tubes with electric trolling motors too!

OK. It came in the mail today. Getting the foam seat cushions installed was a bit tedious but not nightmarish and I'm 65.
Nice catfish I just recently caught a massive 5 lb catfish because im up at my cottage in nipissing so the amount of catfish is incredible, I like to fish on rooth lake in powasan its great fishing up here in canada u should head up to north bay in ontario its about 30 min away frome the lake.

Pontoon style float tubes are the only way to go. They're so much faster in the water then other styles and much easier to kick.

When I buy it. I ask the Retail to help me put the floaters in. ;) See how hard it was.
I carry a whistle in case of boats or if I need a person to get their attention.
I was giving some serious thought to upgrading to a Fat Cat, but after seeing what a P.I.T.A it was to insert the foam blocks I decided to go with another brand. I know it's only a one time set-up, I just thing there are better tubes out there.
+John Archer better tubes like? Creek Company ODC420? LOL Creek Company stinks I hope they aren't on your list of better tubes. Outcast is good stuff.

"if you`re older and don`t know much about float tubes"?--It`s the older guys and gals that do know about float tubes before you were born! . . .Jeesh.
I might be considered one of those "older folks" that don't know much about float tubing, even though I'm only 78 yrs. old. I use the Fish Cat tube and have another for my just turned 7 great grandson. The fins John has aren't very good. I use Mares Avanti swim fins .They are really long, but that actually makes them MUCH less tiring. My grandson uses similar type with sneakers on to get them to fit. WE get that expensive stuff off season from ebay type sites. In fact I got his fins at a yard sale for $10 .
Installing that seat foam is easy if you are one of us older folks. I took a long piece of baler type twine and made a loop in one end . I looped it on itself and pulled the cushion tight to compress it. Slipped it in, then let the string loose and pulled it out. Same for other section. Simple procedure for old simple folks like me. lol. John also mentioned this being of middle of the line quality.
What then is top of the line??:??? I fished heavily with 2 grandsons in a pair of the Fish Cat# 4s for 7- As in SEVEN years of long days on the strip pits. I then gave the old faded tubes to a couple younger lads. I know one is 10 and still used but seldom.
I also have a Fat Cat tube but I must be one of the few that consider the #4 a better (for me ) tube.
I am in no way a part of the Fish Cat company team but hold them in highest regard .
Soon time to pull My Fish Cat #4 tubes down from the garage attic for another year of making memories .
