- The town of Bad Wimpfen in the state of Baden-Württemberg has a long history going back to the days of the legendary King Barbarossa himself... and cats.

Es ist genial, wie viel schöne Orte es noch in Deutschland zu entdecken gibt. Habe noch nie vorher von Bad Wimpfen gehört.
That's one advantage of the whole semi-closed borders situation, people are willing to discover their own countries again.
My mom grew up in this beautiful town, and i've spend my fair share of summer holidays at this awesome place.
She even witnessed the Blue Tower get struck by a lightning some time in the 80's iirc, which led to the entire roof to burn down and collapse. One of her classmates was a volunteer firefighter involved in the rescue. But the Blue Tower got his signature blue roof and a bell back. :D
It was such a fun time to climb the stairs of the Blue Tower and look at the exhibition inside and as a reward you are treated with a stunning view of the valley. The Blue Tower even contains an apartment, that is still inhabited. Sadly, the Blue Tower has been under construction for a few years now to restabilize it, so no visits for now. :(
I stayed there two nights in 1978 !
Bad Wimpfen is insanely beautiful. I've been there twice when I was a child, and even back then I knew it was unbelievably pretty. I will gladly return someday once the Blue Tower is fully repaired.
Once I exhibited my paintings in this beautiful city. Feeling nostalgic...
hey Rewboss! I loved it. I am a member of the Singing Friends - Volkchor of Bad Wimpfen.
You know, Andrew, right now I wouldn't mind living there! Beautiful video!
Wonderful to see your travel videos again, they are always well done with enticing views of the locales you’re featuring.
Thanks for sharing this marvelous location with us!
Awesome video! I live only two train stops from there, totally worth a visit. And once you've seen enough of the town you can head down to the Neckar and walk along the river.
One thing not mentioned in this video is their most lovely christmas market that fills up the entire Altstadt when it takes place (or rather, used to take place 😕)
I remember Bad Wimpfen from a quite stressful search for a bed for the night when arriving late on my bicycle tour through Germany. Ended up in the "Grünen Baum" which is best described by the german adjective "urig". I distinclty remember the steep alleys. On the bicycle you notice...
You really need to do more of these "travel videos" like hearing your unInstagrammy take. Real interesting information without all the phone flash...Well done!
My school town. Thanks a lot for sharing the beautiful images!
You should go there before Xmas, to see the "Medieval Christmas Market". Charming!
I read a wikipedia article and Hessen still say Bad Wimpfen belongs to them but recognised the defacto rule of Ba-Wü. Very interesting!
Beautiful city! If I wasn't going to be dependant on Frankfurt in the future, I'd try to move there!
3:57 schön, dass die extra ein Gasthaus zum Rappen haben. Wo sonst könnte man fette rhymes droppen :P
nicely done
thanks
Ein kleines Juwel. Danke. 👍🏾😎
Another wonderful town in my homestate of Baden-Württemberg.
An video about my hometown of Marbach am Neckar would be fantastic. It's well known as the birthplace of Friedrich Schiller.
I would always recommend a visit, after the pandemic, of course!
Oh my god, thats like 5 km away from where i live
Mist, dachte ich war nächsten dran 😉
3 km. Wer kann es toppen?

I keep reading the title as, „Bad Wimpern“! 🤣
The German emperors were all travelling emperors! They actually had no permanent residence. So they were almost in every city that could afford it! Milan was less fond of Barbarossa's visits. 🤣 But nice video!
A yes. The world before it fucking ended.
Nothing about the town's lower portion, Bad WImpfen im Tal? It's not as flashy as the portion up on the hill (Wimpfen am Berg), but there's a rather big old collegiate church there that served as the new home for those monks expelled from Poland mentioned in the video.
A few years ago I stayed in the upper town, but I am a walker and made it to the church you mentioned. I was taking a few days off before I visited friends I had worked with in Karlsruhe at the research center there. Back in the day my Californian company had gone bankrupt while I was working in Germany. My German friends thought this was a disaster. When I got home, after a few weeks in Paris, I had messages offering me jobs. My timing was impeccable as the economy was roaring.
0:37 I missed an explanation, what "STAUFISCH" could also mean in German.
A car in a traffic jam with a christian sticker on it?
Before watching: "I wonder if he made this Video to put a pun with 'impfen'."
No "How to get there" segment this time?
Bad Wimpfen is near Heilbronn, east of Heidelberg, north of Stuttgart. It has regular trains from/to Mannheim, Heidelberg and Heilbronn and is near the A6 motorway (Saarbrücken - Nürnberg).
@@uncinarynin Thank you I can look that up myself.
It's just that this segment was in all of the more recent Episodes and I always liked the visualisation
not sure how the irish music relates to a place in BaWü.
Wimpfen must look exotic to others. To me though its just another City. Theres many cities that look like this here in BaWü. especially in the south.
if you come around for a longer trip, try Memmingen ... which ... technically is Bayern. But it still kinda counts!
It does look exotic or more accurate romantic, idyllic and so laid back. At least when you are living in a major city and feel surrounded by traffic, noise and people at every hour of the day and night - even now during times when people are being urged to stay home and socially distance.
Why is the wimpfen bad?
"And it's bad, bad Wimpfen town, baddest town with no renown. Badder than the old Heilbronn, meaner than a pub in Bonn" 🎵🎵🎵
Andrew, You´re a romantic.
Come into the Ruhr area and show the world another Germany! Or just go to Frankfurt!
Das Video fällt wohl unter "wenn einem nix mehr einfällt"... 🥱
I guess "Bad" might not be invitating to English speaking people.
Come to "Bad Wanne-Eickel" which ist not a present state community name.
Nobody wants to visit Bad Kissingen when they can visit Kissing, Petting and Fucking instead
I once saw a van with a big logo of "Bad Service GmbH", and it took me an embarassingly long time to remember that I was in Germany and this was a plumbing business.
@@namewarvergeben Fucking is renamed now.
Erster
Glückwunsch! 😅
