This bring back so much old memories I remember Roxy theater laying sure have change, I remember my teenage times, I left SG 46 now and I cannot remember any of these places.

Bei-ing wanton mee has another branch just down the road at Bullion Hawker Bar.. Same coffee shop as the famous Geylang 29 Hokkien noodles.. It's much nicer there than the original stall at Roxy.

My Dad used to take me to the cinema in Katong for the afternoon matinee, we used to have a cake from the Red house bakery. We lived on the Opera estate in Siglap from 1961-63
Yea!!! East the best ! I stayed in Siglap Kampong, fishing village and moved to Marine Terrance for 20 years
Wow.. you moved from the west to the east in Opera Estate? 😂 find memories.. red house bakery was still around in the late 90s and early 2000 if I recall

@@Piggypuggy I was there b4 Mandarin Garden was built. It was then only reclaimed land. My grand dad n sons were fishermen and night time was sotong time with net and light. We lived I think atap houses b4 moving to Marine Terrace

My favourite laksa place, not sure the otah goes well with the wanton mee but I always eat the otah with the laksa, match in heaven 😋

I don't like yellowish laksa, look so diluted. I prefer 328 laksa opposite. I had tried the two stalls that you ordered. Both are not nice.

@@Piggypuggy yet to see ur visit to Marine Terrance market. At the back row of muslim food, try the "black plates" store lontong and Nasi. The other store a bit ex even though more selection. Small community hawker however stores changes much over the years
I've always want to record a walk inside Roxy Square. Dunno why like no feeling now for anything else but rain walks. Even recording Changi Airport like no mood.
Rain walks are universal therapy for everyone.. but places like Roxy square might only be for locals. But orchard towers might be interesting

@@Piggypuggy Yeah, actually, you're right... I recorded many old malls like Upper Serangoon Shopping Center and Katong Shopping Center... very limited viewership. I think for Singapore channel... can only do food.
But it’s a kind of service too.. coz many of these malls will disappear and be lost forever if it wasn’t captured on film. Many would only be able to see it thru your dedicated work

Laksa looks so yummy! The $4.50 Nasi Lemak set is over price! Chicken Wing, peanut with ikan billi, an fried egg and Nasi. Just cannot take the price.
I bet it's cheaper at the original stall at whampoa..
But fact is.. newer hawkers sometimes pay heftier rents.. so they have to cover their fixed overheads. But I see many forking out $5-8 willingly for hawker fares these days. There was such a line at the nasi lemak.
seriously u got to look at the rental price and the cost of the ingredients. if I were you, I rather spend 4.50 on the nasi lemak.

With due respect, that is not the original nonya laksa. Nonya laksa doesn't come with cockles. The original nonya laksa has strips od cucumber as garnishing too. This nonya laksa is not the authentic one.
