The “Pec deck” machine is so popular and can easily be done wrong. Thank you for breaking down the upper back muscles and demonstrating proper form to engage the rear deltoids.
He’s definitely on juice, you’d be ignorant to say other wise, BUT , his advice on the rear delt actually is rock solid. Tried it and , juice or not, it works.
I was curious if i don’t have an incline bench like this, is there any way to get proper form with dumbbells or bands without the bench? I’d really love to apply at least the principles to that.
@@Amantino hi..I tried this several times but still felt my upper lats were more involved than my rear delts....so now I lay across a flat bench, keeping a round back and it now feels its just the rear delts doing the work...balance is awkward a few times but you soon learn the technique.
Okay and then imagine if you take that position and rotate everything and using the same movements… you have the reverse pec deck that they told you not to use?
I really like this doctor, my question is that massive hump in his back. No way thats good for us. Whats wrong with standing without the bench? As long as youre in a good stance to support the flex in the back... I don't understand this form at all.
Old question but anyways, they mention in the video you don't want the bigger back muscles taking over hence the relaxed hunched posture. Doing it standing is better than nothing but doing it on a bench will allow you to fully relax those back muscles and also not have to worry about keeping your core as tight so you can concentrate on the rear delts.
Loved the tutorial, could've done without the "girly weight" comment. I feel like there are enough strong women to warrant a discontinued use of these terms. Thanks.
@@Pagalchhagal this isn't about biology. This is about derogatory terms used to simply describe lighter weights. Terms like "girl pushups," "girly weight," and "you throw like a girl." Are derogatory and meant as such. Not everyone uses them intentionally that way, because they've become so commonplace... but just because something has been done, doesn't mean it should continue that way.
@@kevinchang2 While that's true, Train and Flourish didn't mention those at all. She's talking about the fact that people use terms like that as an insult. Whether it's intentional or not its derogatory.
@@MindPumpTV Not sure. I can only speak for myself. Is this an honest question or a chirp towards me? If it's an honest question, I'm willing to take the time to explain since I felt this was a very good demo. If it's a chirp I'll just move right along....
@@MindPumpTV hey! So using terms like ‘girly weights’ when really we just mean ‘lighter weights’ can be problematic for a few reasons. Men and boys who are just starting off or aren’t very strong will also be using lighter weights, and using ‘girly weights’ as a term for this implies that they are less masculine simply because they can’t lift as much. This can be a really big reason why guys don’t start lifting , cause they don’t want to be seen as ‘girly’. But also it’s not just about the actual word ‘girly’ itself, cause there isn’t anything wrong with being a girl. It’s about the way these lighter ‘girly’ weights are looked down on. If a girl is using a lighter weight but still pushing herself as much as a man using a heavier weight, then it shouldn’t matter and shouldn’t be made fun of. Weight is about ability and strength, and there is a lot of overlap in male and female capabilities. There will always be a bigger and stronger person, someone who can bench 100lbs will be less strong than someone who can bench 160lbs, which doesn’t at all mean than the 100lb bencher is weak. So gendering these terms just isn’t very accurate or helpful for anyone. I love your videos, and hope this is helpful for you in the future!
the only complaint I have is that due to the presence of secular humoral rhythm, eliminating the scaular movement is not only not practical, it isn't really possible or realistic.
Video was great until u inserted that girly weight comment….I’ve seen bulked up dudes using “LIGHTER WEIGHTS” for certain exercises at the gym. There is no such thing as “girly” weights nor “girl” push ups, they’re called modifications. UGH 🤬

WOW!! This Guy is awesome - You should do more videos with him.. I just learnt so much in 5 minutes its crazy. Thank You
I have never seen it done or explained that way before. This is great. Thanks for sharing guys.

I can feel the beautiful Bromance between these two dudes..
Great instructions 👍🏼👍🏼
I am very critical of technical videos, been lifting 22 years, and am a literal professional athlete.... This is a really good breakdown. Respect.
THANK YOU so much. I was really looking for a proper explanation on how to do rear delt flies and now I get the concept.
I am thankful for these videos. Now I know why I haven't been getting the results I want. & that 90% of the exercises I've been doing are worthless.
Best content out there. Thank you very much. I'm a little late to the party. But, i also listen to your podcast
do arm videos with him, his arms are huge
Do steroids
@Mark Richardson sadly most of those people we see with all that size are on the gear
He’s definitely on juice, you’d be ignorant to say other wise, BUT , his advice on the rear delt actually is rock solid. Tried it and , juice or not, it works.
In body building, WWE and NFL, steroids are perfectly acceptable.
Awesome tips and explanations. I'm subscribing and following the Muscle Doc for sure.
Check out their Podcast. 500+ videos of fantastic information and check out mindpumpmedia.com for programming.
Thanks for this video, I've been doing this wrong for years.
Great read delt isolation advice! And shows how to do it correctly!
props to the "Off-Road" coin-op in the background LOL!!!!!
Ironman Stewart knew how to isolate his rear delt. 👌👍
Holy cow my form has been off on many exercises for a while now .....THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THESE VIDEOS

good question, I´d like to know aswell.
this was phenomenally described
Excellent advise guys, love watching your videos.!!
thanks for the new rear felt techniques. very informative.
awesome - wish I'd seen this about 20 years ago. thanks!
I'm grateful for this explanation of rear delt. fly
Nice work boyyyyyz
These are all great cues! Small muscles, so use smaller weights! Working the rear delts makes the best aesthetics for the shoulder.
Going to try this out on my next workout.
i love mind pump
wooow ,, very useful informative and scientific video ,, keep up the great work bro ,, thump up and love , thanks alot
Great video guys. Always leaning!!
Thanks for the post, cause I been doing them wrong.
Thank you
So needed that video, thanks guys 👍
Great guy snd very knowledgeable why you do not intégrate to the team. ?
For the rear delts, what's a better exercise: this fly or the chest supported dumbbell row (from roughly the same position)?
Nice one guys
Thank you that was very helpful
Thanks
underrated channel
Does it matter if the palms face in like in the video of if the dbs are going in same angle as length of arm? (palms facing away, toward back of me)
I do this exercise but the whole time I thought it was a back workout. 😂
This is good tier advice!
Love this! Learned something new! I would have focused on keeping shoulders back. Thank you!
You mean out not back
Excellent tip!
“To lift this lil girly weight you got goin on here” like damn he’s just demonstrating lol
Such old school language calling a certain weight "girly"🤔Great info though!:)
3:20 The workout starts (superset with machine military press 3x12/15)
how many reps and sets should be done?
is there anything better than a obscenely well-read beefcake?
May I ask what bench that is?
Loving this video with the exception of the 'girly weights' comment from Adam 🙄
Why, are u sexist
Yeah cringed at that part! Was great besides that!
@@poxyrocky1cry more.
Nice
So is rounding the back crucial and dropping the shoulders forward rather than keeping the back straight??
Yes they mention in the video that doing it as shown keeps the bigger back muscles from taking over and lifting the weight.

You should show the cable variation of this.
Okay… ALL OF THIS IS GREAT, BUT!!!… the way he kinda flops himself on the bench is really really f*cking funny
Wait. “Out not back”. 1 minute later, “but also back”.
"Keep the shoulder blades dormant".
Give the video a thorough review please.
That’s humerus
He says “you’re going to want to fly back…. I tell people to fly out and not back.” Take a second look.
Sounds contradictory
So.... back or not?
I've watched it several times.
Great shit
2:20 you're welcome
“Girly weight” lol nice put down. I’m sure that made you feel better. We all have a starting point, my guy. At least we’re working on ourselves.
LMAO this guy said girly weight. good vid
I'm still waiting for you to do it properly like the video title says.
Thank you !
too much fluff at the beginning,
I just train the Naruto Run for rear delts.

I find if I lead with my pinkies It isolates them too
I tried doing this on my bench but my legs are too short :(
I like this but my legs are too short to straddle the bench 🤣
EXCELLENT I LOVE IT TY💚
Anyone watching 2022.
Better explained, than some of the current ones
Wait do i go back or out 😅
WHAT ABOUT BENTOVER CABLES
I like this form but tbh I’m a little embarrassed to be on the incline bench like that Infront of others.
I'm already embarrassed to go to the gym in general, so I don't really care if it looks like I'm presenting for other gym goers 😂
My bench keeps creeping forward doing it tho 😆
Fly out👌🏻
