When people look up at the night sky, they look up to see the dim stars shining down on them. What they never pay attention to is the darkness between those stars. Day 23: We started this station to search for any signals from surviving settlements. All we receive is the endless taunting of the darkness. Shrieking, whining, howling... it never stops. The higher sky, as we crossed the range, was surely vaporous and disturbed enough; and although I did not see the zenith I can well imagine that its swirls of ice-dust may have taken strange forms. Imagination, knowing how vividly distant scenes can sometimes be reflected, refracted, and magnified by such layers of restless cloud, might easily have supplied the rest-and of course Danforth did not hint any of those specific horrors till after his memory had had a chance to draw on his bygone reading. He could never have seen so much in one instantaneous glance. At the time his shrieks were confined to the repetition of a single mad word of all too obvious source: *_“TEKELI-LI! TEKELI-LI!”_*
12 days after the storm. Making good progress on my yoga. I finally received a transmission on the radio. I had been talking to the snowman and my fur coat for two days when a local fisherman named Ornas heard my signal; seemed friendly enough and oddly curious for a reserved Svalbardian. For when we talked I imagined him to be an old bearded nut, fiddling with a radio in a hut somewhere far off. We had deep, meaningful conversation, but his slow, sober speech was always accompanied by the sound of ice cracking and weird, bubbly-splashy sounds. 20 days after the storm. A well-fed polar bear mother prowles the icy plains with her cub. The cub looks like a hamburger on drumsticks in the distance. Ornas says he builds totems now, earlier he said "yes" to being a fisherman. I invited him to a Wim Hof seminar, but he wasn't impressed. 29 days after the storm. The polar bear and her cub seem to have moved on, and just as I was about to face them. The mother was too strong, but I could have scored a mean supply of bear cub steaks with my rifle. I suppose another month of military rations, lard, plumpynut and intermittent fasting won't kill me. After watching all the series in the station, I started disassembling and reassembling the entire station as a hobby. Ornas doesn't like chess, aurora borealis, or whales. Go figure. 34 days after the storm. Something's off about Ornas... The way he talks to me is just too... Close. I've never spent so much time talking to just one person. Wait... I talked to him in a lucid dream. Was I hypnotized? I imagine his facial features, when he speaks I imagine his mouth curve. I've even drawn images of him. So familiar... He reminds me of a home since before my birth. 36 days after the storm. I feel his words in my body, as if imprinted in ancient runes on my internal organs. It's as if his spirit had entered the station through the radio and now his inhuman emotions roil in the ice underneath. Nothing matters now. The station pivots precariously on the edge of my decision. I will see his face. Fear no longer exists in my body. Instead I am filled with a curiosity, a sense of dark adventure spanning lifetimes... An ancient longing to meet my fate.
"Yesterday I saw it again. It comes closer and closer each night. At the first night when I saw it, it's only a size of a human from miles away. But every night they come closer each yard, five days ago it's just a mile away from our base but yesterday, it arrived at the perimeter fences. Everybody in our team starts to go insane of the sight of it. Tom was pretty mad of its existence, he went out with a torch to shoo it away. But as he go deeper and deeper into snow storm, leaving only a the glims of his illumining torch, suddenly the glims of the torch went out and all went silent, no sights of him returning. The next morning, we investigate from where Tom was last seen. We found no trace of him nor his belonging, only a lighted torch laying on the ground. Tom was gone, did that thing took him? We don't know anything about what it actually is, and we wouldn't want to know. It's shadowy figure looming in the distance gives us nightmare. If Tom was being taken by it, then we will be their next victim. Tomorrow morning a helicopter will be picking us up and we will be leaving this nightmare. All it takes now is surviving one night." John B.Harold's diary, found at the deserted Alphabase station with no trace of any of her staff.
Following the Altis incident, CSAT began pouring its resources and manpower into their Antarctic research projects. I guess the idea was to secure additional resource lines to bolster their economies. What we didn't realize was CSAT had a second East Wind device in their possession. So they decided to conduct tests with their device to find out just how powerful it was, and how to make it even stronger. Three weeks pass after CSAT sets up shop on the Antarctic continent and one of their weather stations goes dark, nothing out of the ordinary there given the blizzards can knock out even the most reliable comms equipment, that and polar bears are a thing too. Anyway, the CSAT main base sends out an engineering team to diagnose the problem and get the comms arrays back up and running in case NATO sniffed out the second device and decided to make a play for it. The cause of the loss of comms was chalked up to a polar bear declaring a SATCOM dish its mortal enemy and had a duel to defend its honor, spoilers the bear won. So situation returns to normal and CSAT conducts a large scale device of East Wind 2, it performs beyond their expectations and caused large scale tremors as well as several small scale magnetic disturbances that disappeared a few seconds after they manifested. Two days later, Research Station Prophet 1-5 reports their surveillance systems picked up an unknown contact before losing connection to the sensor array. Two hours later Prophet 1-5 reports a group of multiple unknowns entered their perimeter defense zone and is closing on the base, nothing is heard from the base since then. CSAT main base takes this as an enemy attack and dispatches QRF to go bail out Prophet 1-5 from whatever found them and hopefully get some answers. So QRF shows up to find the place wiped out, buildings in flames, bodies everywhere, some in various states of dismemberment, and the automated defenses torn to shreds. Anyway, QRF decided to try and see if they could salvage anything from the destroyed station to help provide clues as told what the hell just happened, nothing really could be found since anything not destroyed by the flames or the buildings collapsing, the extreme cold finished it off. With the destruction of all equipment, the ability to try and piece together what happened was impossible, with that in mind QRF mounted up to return to base and bury the dead, those that could be found anyway. A day passed with nothing else of note occurring until 01:22 local time when Comms Station Raven 6-3 reported major interference on all comm channels and that an attack might be imminent. So QRF once again is dispatched to try and save their asses before they share the same fate of Prophet 1-5. Ten minutes later while the QRF convoy is en route, all communication with Raven 6-3 is suddenly cut off with no response to hails on all frequencies. Five minutes pass before patchy connection is reestablished to Raven 6-3 auxiliary comm channels. The connection is just stable enough for QRF to interface with one of the base perimeter surveillance cameras and move it to capture what is happening. What you all see now is the last image transmitted before all contact was lost with Raven 6-3. (Came up with this while reading some of the other comments, inspired me to make something myself.) EDIT: Forgot to mention that I had just got done with a marathon of ArmA 3 when I stumbled across this video.
I was outside doing checks on our scientific equipment, everything seemed ok, no apparent damage. It was then that I heard the unearthly noise, a deep howling vibrating noise. I looked around but it was night save the aurora australis above painting reflective colours on the snowy landscape. Then I caught a glimpse of a group of figures human-like and shuffling towards me. I let off a red flare, the sight I saw chilled me completely. For there in front of me were about eight tall black-clad figures starkly presented against the Antarctic landscape, they were an eerie sight with the aurora shining above them. Fear soon filled me and I wondered if I was about to die.

John had spent most of his adult life working alone in places like station 23. Distant, quiet, remote. This was his way. The things in the snow did not scare him, only providing him with relief. His desire to escape people and the noises of life had created a mind constructed in solitude capable of envisioning anything. At last, one of those visions was here to close the final chapter on a life waiting for something, anything to come out of that all encompassing dark we call life.

They approach from across the endless cold ice, a vast horde stretching back an equal distance. Even this close up now, I can not make out the details of their towering forms. They made him a illegitimate unpaid celebrity, which was a name less horror in and of itself..........So In essence because socializing became so laborious , from the growing narcisstic pandemic, where anyone, male or female was more concerned about that, and everyone seemed to loose themselves in transition, so he basically more or less walked in , and closed his own door to his cell. With the help of horrible lies and twisted facts on social media of course. The hackers acting like symbiotes didnt help the situation, either, as soon as he left his technological devices around, they jumped on them and took them over. He knew the effects of the isolation and the ordeal were setting in, but he kept it to himself. Who would believe it ? he thought? And even if they did , with the growing disease disease of lack of empathy, and needing attention, would it matter? The pychological torture was another thing. Everyday the other species or the "infected" made money off of , everything they could conjure up and chop up and distribute on the airwaves of mass media. The lies the insults never stopped, hell .... even the vague compliments still didn't help, they actually dug him deeper.Alot of The common folk around at the time, and even competitors in the gyms/dojos would go on the attack, verbally and beyhind the keyboards of course, the people he was supposed to have bonds with, especially every time a compliment from a famous rich legend would occur. So the insults from microphone peoples' was almost better for his survival anyways, and "fitting in." The constant trespassers, and the devilish do gooders added up to just a big withch hunt, and it only grew when they thought he had magical powers of course. So all in all neither good or bad attention on the airwaves helped him, anyway. He said it from day one, it is not okay to be a celebrity with no money! Rumor has it , his imigrant neighbors can still here his ghost shouting that to this day............... even though he disappeared! .......... In his defense the whole situation did go against the natrual law of the modern universe, he was right! Last I heard he was making attempts at trying to mend himself by talking to ex cons who did x, in solitary confinement, idk ? If it helped? being that he probably still doesn't feel comfortable with trying to relate to others , who have endured horrors that actually could be named..........This guy I heard about at the coffee shop, up the road, must have been from hell, cause he wallered everyday for almost a decade in horrors that literally COULDN'T BE NAMED.

Neither staunch atheism nor devout faith can stand up to those things, the ancient beings, neither alive nor dead for they exist far beyond our comprehension. The Old Ones we’d call them, but in truth they have no name, they are forces, not of nature or anything coherent, but depictions of true, unrestricted, chaos. Nothing will survive their onslaught for they are the black abyss of space made manifest, summoned here by the darkest of rituals, conjured by those compelled by its wordless will, ensorcelled by its corrupting touch, and when it is made tangible on this plane it will consume everything in its all incompassing darkness.

If your ass believe in superstition nonsense
The higher sky, as we crossed the range, was surely vaporous and disturbed enough; and although I did not see the zenith I can well imagine that its swirls of ice-dust may have taken strange forms. Imagination, knowing how vividly distant scenes can sometimes be reflected, refracted, and magnified by such layers of restless cloud, might easily have supplied the rest-and of course Danforth did not hint any of those specific horrors till after his memory had had a chance to draw on his bygone reading. He could never have seen so much in one instantaneous glance.
At the time his shrieks were confined to the repetition of a single mad word of all too obvious source:
*_“TEKELI-LI! TEKELI-LI!”_*
That image is so awesome looking. It can tell many stories and have different meanings.
Nice and big thumb up for Wim Hof ;-)
This is so goddamn good I can't even stand it. I demand you write more!
I'm usually quite reserved when giving complements, but you deserve it man, this was great.
Unity No Fear. Is this dude gonna eat Ornas or what?
Go on....
All it takes now is surviving one night."
John B.Harold's diary, found at the deserted Alphabase station with no trace of any of her staff.

Fantastic illustration. Beautiful!
(Came up with this while reading some of the other comments, inspired me to make something myself.)
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I had just got done with a marathon of ArmA 3 when I stumbled across this video.
I love it.
Totally invoked that image.
I love these short stories in the comment section.
the image makes me think of Artyom from Metro 2033 hailing the Dark Ones, but outside

This has a strong Carpenter's The Thing's vibe. I love it but I need to bring my headphones to fully enjoy it. It's so dark and calm, no invasive, sudden sounds, I really needed to find it.
Thank you. Yeah, most of my stuff is best with at least semi-decent speakers or headphones.
Oddly relaxing and focusing. Whenever i'm anxious or need to study I just throw this puppy on. The good thing about immersing yourself in the immense and unfathomable unknown is that all your problems feel all the more smaller.
From the day I started listening to this cursed soundtrack my life changed. My nightmares are materializing and becoming real. I lost all my family and friends. My enemies are everywhere, in fact, I didn't knew I have this many. I am depressed and lonley. But this soundtrack is fantastic I can´t complai.

“I can’t complain” 😂
John had spent most of his adult life working alone in places like station 23. Distant, quiet, remote. This was his way. The things in the snow did not scare him, only providing him with relief. His desire to escape people and the noises of life had created a mind constructed in solitude capable of envisioning anything. At last, one of those visions was here to close the final chapter on a life waiting for something, anything to come out of that all encompassing dark we call life.
Man it's like once a week you churn out something I absolutely adore. That's it, next paycheck I'm buying your discography.
Thanks!
"I can't take it anymore. I'm the only one left. Theres no where to run. Miles and miles and miles of ice-white nothing. I'm going to let them take me."

Good hunting, STALKER.
Music, picture and cold atmosphere remind me "30 Days of night", the film about brutal vampires that arranged the massacre in a little isolated Alaska town during the polar night...
Just beautiful I love the cold, starkness, and the beautiful borealis lights in the night sky.
Thanks!
Ok... We know you have it ....

As big as those things are, they're gonna need as much as they can get😂
Thanks for uploading this content, I have your music playing on my surround system every time I sleep
This isnt even something like background noise. it has become the soundtrack of my existence
Accidentally clicked on this for two seconds when I was getting ready for work. Stepped outside to see my entire neighborhood covered in fog. So 10/10 for effectiveness
Look like MacReady standing there with the flare..
The Thing 3 - The Things..
I like the stave in your profile picture.
The Shadows approached and asked: "Sir, excuse us sir! Do you have a moment to talk about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ?"
Even in Antarctica, they still cpme for you
No. That's a different place
I am here for y'all now
Neat. Can you stay on that side of the door though?
Definitely my fav artist in the Dark Ambient scene

Oh, God, what do they want?

Currently being listened to at CERN. All the while the LHC accelerates particles trying to open the pathway/ a wormhole to another dimension. Yog-Sothoth awaits.
They approach from across the endless cold ice, a vast horde stretching back an equal distance. Even this close up now, I can not make out the details of their towering forms. The sickly red light from my last remaining flare refuses to brighten them...
They begin to move within touching distance now, silent and implacable. The sky above will be witness to my final stand. I do not recognize the stars anymore. I don't think I'm home.
Transformative. I can visualize the eons of darkness before matter and the crawling slithering things long lost to time.

"Do you hear them? The voices of the nephilim?

nah they just set up domino games with the human every tuesday, he just sets up the flair so they can find him if its blizzarding.
great study music, just enough change to keep you awake, just simple enough to prevent distraction
So glad i stumbled across this! this is the perfect mood setter for a game of Eldritch Horror!
It reminds me "The Thing", with Kurt Russell.
yes, in the 80's movie.
@hatmaskguy yeah the original, not the shitty remake
"I'm gonna hide this tape when I'm finished. If none of us make it, at least there'll be some kind of record. The storm's been hitting us hard now for 48 hours. We still have nothing to go on.
One other thing, I think it rips through your clothes when it takes you over. Windows found some shredded long johns, but the nametag was missing. They could be anybody's. Nobody... nobody trusts anybody now, and we're all very tired.
Nothing else I can do, just wait... R.J. MacReady, helicopter pilot, US outpost number 31."
This soundtrack makes you feel as if somethings behind you, waiting for you to notice it.
This brings me such inner peace for studying. Thank you. :)
That image is pretty fucking frightening. I love it. Feel the primal defense mechanism in your brain trigger.
"Mayday, Mayday! Can anyone hear me, over? This is US Station 31, Do you read me? We found something in the ice. We need some help down here! Can anybody hear me? We found something! We found something... We found something......
Love the artwork, it's mezmerizing.
It was you who came to us, it was you who built the tower and call.

We shouldn't have brought that artifact up from the depths. It was down there for a reason. Now we're on our last flare and even the stars are afraid....
To be fair, If you're the first neighbors to ever come here of course they'd visit
i like to think they are going to party with the humans at the little base,

@@chaosdweller This describes my life over the last 4 years, almost down to each sentence. Some are out of place, but i thought this comment was about me. Cars are scary, at least for a long time. Heaven and hell both exist on Earth as states of mind or being. Not to mention the Astral Plane, and that the human brain can connect to eleven dimensions at once. There is a part of us in every Universe on this plane. Which one we connect to, is up to us.
