Welp, humanity had a nice run. I, for one, welcome our new robotic roller-skating bunny overlords.
😂😂😂😂😂
Erwon allovens
Have you seen Boston Dynamics
They'd have to catch you first.
Haha
Ok that bot looks like it's sentient the way it struggle abit to get up and the way it move both leg to sit on the guy shoulder is like a real person would. Wild
I’m a bit surprised that that the robot came out of the wooden box or by itself without anybody on stage touching it🤯
its preprogrammed bloke
@@_thehunter_ dude even programmed, that’s incredibly impressive.
@@_thehunter_ they never said it wasn’t
As someone who struggled getting a wheeled Vex bot just to properly turn onto the right path from starting position a long time ago in middle school, I will say a self-unpacking program is really impressive. I can easily imagine when future Transformers toys open up their boxes themselves and self pack into them at the push of a button.
It's impossible to be completely preprogrammed and do that. I think there is a lot of ai and automation in this robot.
My 15-year-old son is currently taking Disney’s Storytelling course on Khan Academy. This kind of stuff lights his fire. Thank you for continuing to innovate and spark the imagineering spirit in my son’s generation.
i think u r talking about the Pixar one, there isnt a "Disney" course on Khan academy...
"Khan Academy" What are we doing Folks, The subliminal at that one.
As cool as Tinkerbell is, I prefer getting to physically interact with the characters. Hand holding as they skip along with kids, hugs, all that. It's not at all an issue for me to shrink down to the size of a fairy. I find that more fun, really, than having Tink come to me.
As for Judy, she's really cool and I'm excited to see more stuntmatronics. Or maybe more fire breathing dragons like they had before New Fantasyland opened. That was so cool.
Right, but think about Peter Pan or Captain Hook walking around with that lantern with Tinkerbell inside, game changing character interaction while you can still meet a full sized Tinkerbell elsewhere.
I agree with the physical interaction. That's one reason I wanna go to Disneyland someday, because I always feel like talking to my favorite characters every now and then
Maybe to add more motion to the land have Hook capture the Tink lantern in view of park guests. You then have Peter and some other characters try to find Tink with some "help" for the park guests. Or make it more of an interactive stage show. Capacity doesn't have to be limited to rides.
@@GLJosh Ohmigosh I love it! An around-the-park game like that sounds perfect for Disney!
Yes, when I go to meet Tinkerbell at Pixie Hollow sometime she says to me "oh you strunk yourself down to fairy size to come and see me."
She’s so cute I love Robots I hope the cast members get payed and I hope these robots come through Disney has always taught us to believe in the best in humanity. Let’s strive for both 💙💙💙
This is the sort of presentation that belongs in EPCOT.
I would love to visit their new 'tech pavilion' and see them demo their innoventions with un-themed robots or other special effects. Future world type stuff. Inspire children to make cool stuff when they grow up.
There used to be a thing in DHS where you were in a small room with a hologram of Jack Sparrow, a simple tech demo that they made an attraction out of. it was awesome, more of that please.
The Play pavilion is still in planning, right? please consider adding a space (like Turtle Talk in the Seas) where you can feature some cool working prototypes or other WOW ideas that dont yet have a home in other attractions.
Omg yes this would be awesome!
I guess even Judy Hopps couldn't escape Robotnik's multiverse's roboticization plans after all...
RIP officer Hopps
This robot is incredible. I think it's great that future parks start using robotic characters doing amazing moves.
I would love more stuff like this at EPCoT! Would be really cool (and maybe a bit terrifying) if they had a pagelion set up showing audio animatronics and robots from across company history and show how they work and such.
with the tinkerbell tech you could have the real life size actor in a big human sized lantern in an oversized room somewhere behind the scenes and have a shrinking tunnel that the kids can walk through to go into the small world and emerge to suddenly see they are tinkerbell's size now and the whole world has grown around them
Judy-bot being put on his shoulders was such an adorable scene!❤
The Tinkerbell is cool (I remember hearing about it’s first test run) but I imagine it’ll work better when set up in a place where the Cast Member can be physically nearby where they can hear the kid, or with a microphone setup somehow, to get rid of whatever Zoom call-type lag they were having. It’s a deceptively simple thing that’s very cute and fun.
The Judy robot is so cool. I’m sure it’ll be neat to see what will come of it, although I’m sure it’ll be like the Spider-Man robot for a while where she does a show behind a barrier for a while. One day though, I’m betting we’ll have automated walk around characters based off this.
They should have tink talk like she does in the movies and then have you shrink down to her size for a physical meet and greet where you can understand her.
disneyland is like that, when you meet her, as you walk up to her spot, the grass turns into giant blades and theres giant flower
This is cool and all but... PAY YOUR CASTMEMBERS BETTER. That's the dream you SHOULD pursue
That's true in a way
Yah that too!
Will the robots replace them? Don't have to pay robots...
@@Lycancass89 They will replace us all
The best part of this was Tink mentioning Silvermist! Disney Fairies revival, WHEN?
We need more Disney fairies in the parks and at Disney In general. I miss them.
@@HeartandSeoul23 Agreed. LOVED Sil and Rosetta
@@AlolaMasked_BettyRubbleFan Fawn was always my fave!
@@googamp32 Shes a good one too.
I'm pretty sure people are going to abuse those robots if they roam free in the parks and they let guests interact with them. Knowing they aren't human people might try to test them and push them around and stuff. They better make them very durable or keep them protected somehow.
Or just make them personable enough that all but the lowest common denominator will feel bad about it
@@quantumblauthor7300 I shudder to think about what furries might do to that Judy Hopps robot, lol.
Disneys about to turn into a Freddy fazbears in like 10 years….
This robot is fantastic! I for one am looking forward to more robots with fun clumsy behavior. Especially in Galaxy’s Edge.
If only you payed your cast members a living wage with some of that money and took the same approach to caring for your employees being able to live
6:05 I imagine this technology would definitely be used for an Iron Man animatronic.
Im still blown away by the Tinkerbelle science. Its like a live green screen or something!!
I think people are underestimating this robot. It doesn't get half the press as Boston Dynamics.
3:40
Silvermist has always been my favorite Disney fairy and she always will be. Rosetta comes in at close 2nd though
Try everything…with a bunny…thinly veiled zootopia reference? Will this technology be in zootopia land in Shanghai?
Yes they are! What do you think the bunny was for? It’s Judy! Honest when they said that with a wink and a nod I knew where it was going. And of course the character model for the robot gave it away.
Omg i'm FLABBERGASTED! That was amazing!
The Tink segment was cute!😊
The robo Judy was scary!😮
But it IS nice to see that Spiderman tech being used.
As veteran robot designer.... WOW... this is amazing... I design robots for kids...so my price points are a magnitude lower than what Disney can spend... Well done Disney!!!!!! keep up the amazing work !!!!
Even though I have disney biased and I love both Disney and universal. I think this presentation honestly changes everything! No joke I’m stunned and speechless! This is why disney imagineering is on top of there game and they are the goat of the amusement industry.
can't wait to see this in the parks!
Can't wait to see that robot more......fleshed out. She's awesome and I love Judy.....but she's still a tad creepy right now
Robo-Cop Judy Hopps!
This is all super exciting!
idk but the prototype robot needs its own lil life, it's incredibly wholesome somehow
I would much rather welcome in a cute and cuddly disney robot empire over a cold tesla or robot empire. Give me death by cuteness.
I had a robot meet and greet once with BB-8 in Hollywood Studios' Launch Bay. Even though it was a droid, it still felt sentient and realistic, as though someone was controlling the responses as we talked to it. It was worth the wait for me.
Even though robotic stunts and meet&greets may replace some of the interactions, there will still need to be developers and engineers, as well as controllers and handlers for these characters as well, so I think the net net of this will not eliminate jobs on the whole.
Now, if they take customer service aspects like tickets, guest relations, etc. and replace them with kiosks and robots, that would be very bad, because people want to talk to people face to face when they are conducting business or when they have important issues to discuss.
Eventually AI will be the engineer
Can’t wait to see the tinkerbell, and the finished roller skating Judy Animatronic in the parks, the tinker bell looks finished mostly
The MATRIX TRILOGY WAS A DOCUMENTARY FROM THE FUTURE ALL ALONG
1:40
Hiiiii, Missus Neeeuuutrooon....
Proof that Lithium, iron, carbon, and petroleum can be beneficial when you throw an adorable rabbit face on it.
Think would be fun as a more intimate “Turtle Talk with Crush” type show. Maybe lol 5-10 at a time and then as other have said have a moment where you walk to another room to meet her full size.
Josh..... lets talk season passes shall we?? Please bring them back. 🙏
I just want to be in the future right now to observe a world of sentient Disney robots!
Tinkerbell - you can see the green screen by her feet. Prob done like Rey in Rise of the Resistance,
Really cool, great job!
Is the new robot foreshadowing what is to come in the Zootopia land at Shanghai?
My dream bring back 2d animated movie
Me too
@@TylerAStinson thank you
Wish is going be like traditional animation, and with cgi as well.
Yes i agree full stop. However I head a rumor that they are and it’s starting with the tiana series on Disney plus.
How can I do this storytelling with Tinker Bell in my classroom! I’d love to do it the Monday after Spring break?????? ❤❤
You can sorta already do this with something called the "Looking Glass". The issue with that, though, is that it might not run flawlessly with school-issue hardware, so you'll probably need a powerful laptop, or bring your own rig from home, though that's assuming you want to run AI software and 3d rendering to attempt to mimick this interaction.
You could try creating something similar using the “Pepper’s Ghost” effect that they use in Haunted Mansion by making a lantern with a glass pane inside that is at a 45 degree angle to the floor/roof of the lantern and insert a phone in the top of the lantern with the screen facing down and brightness turned up so that the screen reflects off of the glass, then have your Tinkerbell actor do a FaceTime/Zoom call on a black background. It will be see-through and only work in low-light conditions, but that’s one way to do it.
It's so adorable it's ripping my heart to shreds.
Love these!!
I prefer physical characters, aka people in costumes.
These shouldn’t replace traditional meet and greets and should only be used sparingly
(1:46) I know that effect. It's the Pepper's Ghost effect inside the lantern! The same technique used in Universal Studios' Disaster & Fast & Furious - Superchaged,
Looks more like an OLED backlit projection like Rey’s hologram in Rise of the Resistance, or the Raptors chasing the ride vehicle in the queue for Velocicoaster.
Nice to see Tinkerbell being herself
Well, not really a classic Pepper’s Ghost effect like in the Haunted Mansion, nor is Fast & Furious. That uses an “Eyeliner” transparent projection screen. Kaleb is much more on target.
@technofilms7822more famously known for that
My guess is that the person dressed like Tink was backstage, and being broadcast real- time to a tiny transparent OLED screen inside the lantern.
The effect likely only works viewing the lantern directly from the front, like the Rey hologram in Rise of the Resistance.
Waaaaaauuu Disney no deja de sorprenderme pero siiii si súper si sería increíble interactuar en un futuro no solo con los personajes en disfraz y botargas, si no que robots volando, saltando wooooou que padre
Bring all this to Walt Disney World please
Cool 😎 love tinker bell
Nah but imagine droids roaming around everywhere in galaxies edge
I wanna see a Gonk droid walking around.
Judy? 🤩 YES! I knew it, that what I was thought of as the robo-rabbit. In real-life as the prototypes cyber rabbit Judy Hopps!
Congrats Technology! and Thank you very much for your introduction to the new Robot.
Super cool. It will be interesting to see how the technology is applied to other IP/non humanoid character interactions as well
Robo-rabbit, a rabbot.
That is amazing
Disney's capacity to convey emotion through robotics Is amazing.
Judy is the kind of robot I'd love to bring home to my parents. She's cute, she's talented, and she's not going to steal my job. Sorry, Alexa.
Holy flippin' mackerel! That's very, very cool. I know, I know it's dumb, but I even clapped my hands! Wow. If that robot gives me a ticket at Disneyland, I'll even pay it! I sure hope they end up paying their cast members correctly, so that they can participate in this as well!
... I clapped too.
"The... animatronics do tend to get a bit quirky around this time of night."
I, for one, would like to welcome our new robot overlords!
That fnaf movie is very realistic.
WHAT?!
Wow
You guys are AWESOME 😁 how you guys made 🤖🤖
Damn! That is impressive!
That's so cool and inspiring!
So cool
And when we get Disney Fairies back in the parks and in the Disney universe in general( I will take anything), then what?
6:28 robots are so cool
Is that Judy Hopps?
@@krisrhood2127 no, it's Mickey mouse
Is that Freddy Fazbear?
''Hasta la vista, Disney'' 😂😂
I wonder if we will see that robot at the Zootopia Land at Shanghai Disneyland.
You cannot "invent the future".. josh! You are barely able to chase the shadow of a great man
Honestly he can. Yes he will never be Walt but so far what he has been able to do since taking over Especially since bob paycheck left is astonishing. He’s really putting his money where his mouth is. And since he let off the leash. Now we can see what he can really do.
I'd buy Thinkerbell as an AI assistant just for the novelty factor. Who needs a plain old speaker when you can have a fairy telling you dad jokes?
Very impressive
Give us a meet-and-greet Man-Thing on Avengers Campus. Then we'll talk.
Wow nice job
Epic!!
Amazing
I played Peter Pan in a college play that was like the Disney orignal was very close
im getiing vibe fnaf the robot disney character
Robot officer hop
This is great
I love robots so much
ROBOTS? Welcome to Westworld.
I love this thing. As just a test robot, it already has the Tesla Bot beat. It might not have the AI the Tesla Bot has, but can the Tesla Bot get up on it's own wile wearing roller-blades? Also this Jude bot is way more cute, and is light enough to sit on your shoulders.
The Tesla Bot may have more brains, but the Jude Bot has my heart. And I want one of my very own. ^.^
Tesla bot doesn't exist yet wdym
This part with judy hops reminded me of five nights at fredy's series.
*five nights at freddy's 2 halway noises*
Create happiness? Maybe pay your workers better who give happiness 🙃
Besides that, these new technologies are mindblowingly amazing! Especially the bunny robot! Holy shit!
Neat mirror trick in the beginning half
"I knew that was gonna work" now that's a huge lie if i ever seen one XD
Cool
Awesome!.
Bring this new Tinkerbell now, That's cool amazing tech that's been field tested enough with Stat wars.
So the bite of 87 will be in 2087 I see. Interesting
How to control... remote that?
Well we had a nice run
So the falling down is not a bug, it's a feature? Did Todd Howard design this one?
Thin legs on that bot. Wow
I love Peter Pan
Now they have the three Star wars droids.
It's a dark day for humanity
