The fact that Zazu from the Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management, one of the most widely hated animatronics of all time, just pops up in the background of an unrelated video is part of why it's so worthwhile to watch the Imagineering videos when they come out.

FINALLY no cop out, weird screen faces! Back to the real magic of creating life like faces that made me believe starting as a child that the characters were truly there "living" at Disney. What joy and memories these animatronics bring back. Outstanding job Imagineering! Please always use this when you can moving forward! Thank you!🪄

They actually made a huge mistake with one animatronic. The Yetti would be attached to a main pillar in the mountain so every movement he made, it would ruin the structure. To be fair, that was a program error.

@@lemn8They do occasionally, but primarily rely on closed-loop brushless servos. Even with the precision of steppers, running 12 hours a day can throw off the movements, and would need recalibration, so they use FOC on brushless motors.
Finally, something uplifting that provides hope for all of us Disney fans! They should have done this a while ago! So happy to see a video highlighting the importance and role of Disney Imagineers creating the Disney magic! Love the behind the scenes approach giving us a glimpse of the process on developing storytelling using animatronics for future rides! It reminded me of Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color television series! Walt would have been very proud to see this! Keep doing this! Kudos to the Imagineers!! ❤
These are next level animatronics. I am happy to see that Disney is not relying on projections for Tiana's Bayou. I will miss the river boat from Splash Mountain, but this progress is indeed encouraging, shared by those who have the coolest jobs on the planet, the Imagineers.
I am glad people are giving this a chance. I know people will miss Splash Mountain but I am glad they innovating. Tiana deserved a better movie! This feels like the opportunity to do that.

Wow John Damaro standing with the Davy Jones figure from Pirates of the Caribbean. Glad to see there’s still some care for things tied to the Pirates of the Caribbean films.
This is Disney. This feels like something Walt would be proud of. I see you back there Wax Candleman! Sometimes I get so cynical when I think about Disney and how greedy I feel the corporation can be, and while there is truth to that, I cannot help but being inspired by the Imagineers and the work and passion they put into the Parks. It makes me keep wanting to go back to see what they’ve created.
I want Disney to remake the original journey into imagination but with new technology, cause it would be so cool to see that beautiful attraction with modern technology, it would make it 10 times better
With the innovations they made for this ride I can only imagine on how energize figment could be not to mention the upgrades if we get the dream finder back too
I reckon they are thinking about it. Maybe they are waiting for the art to catch up. What we need in the meantime is for Daniel Distory to play the Dreamfinder in a musical review
This is the Disney we have been wanting to see make a return for years. It's great to see the Imagineering band back together. Disney has always been about a sense of wonder and imagination, not nickel and diming visitors, and giving them a budget park experience. It feels like lately Disney has really forgotten what the Disney difference is, but watching this video gives me hope for the future. Well done, this looks amazing!
1, I would bet $100 right now that Lewis is skinned in either nylafleece, fuzzelle, or f3 fleece. The texture and matte finish makes me think fuzzelle. All puppet fleeces developed recently within the past 8 years or so, designed to hide seams with their fuzz. 2, Tiana's mouth and cheek movements are boggling my mind, they're the smoothest and most natural I've seen in an animatronic. I know it's too much to hope for disney to show her facial rig and how they're casting her skin, but god I want to know how they did it!!
I'm so, so, so, so excited to see a return of animatronic faces rather than the projection ones. So, so, so excited to go on this ride in the near future!!
I need the next episode already! Imagineering and the behind the scenes work is truly the heart of Disney's magic. I look forward to what's coming...both in the episodes and from the Imagineers!

This is the kind of content we always used to enjoy on Disney+ All those behind the scenes "making the magic" of classic Disney storytelling! Thanks for bringing it here!! So exciting
One of my fave memories ever: years ago (probably 1989), when Head of Archives Becky Cline was the secretary to Dave Smith (gawd, the smell of cigarette smoke that came from his office! 😱) and I stumbled upon the then-small archives-I saw the famous birdcage sitting on a pedestal, and gasped, “Is that THE birdcage?” She smiled and nodded and then asked me if I wanted to see it work! You could’ve knocked me over with a feather. I still have the video I made. Iconic!!
Thank you for putting Walt at the beginning of this. It reminds me of the Wonderful World of Color programs he would do. Grateful for this tiny ray of hope that Disney is starting to turn back to the company we know and love.
Still not happy about Splash Mountain re-Theme. Just my opinion. However, these animatronics are unbelievable!!! I didn’t think they’d look this good! I was thinking they’d be going with led screens and projection. This is incredible

Thank you for all that you do, and for creating the magic I cherish so much, and the memories I have yet to make.
I was initially sad about the Splash retheme, it also had to do with the fact I didn’t trust Disney to do it right, mainly because Chapek was still in charge. Then they started releasing more and more information, and I started to really look forward to the retheme. It seems everything they reveal just makes the ride look better and better, and I’m excited to ride it, even though I still miss Splash Mountain.
I absolutely LOVED The Imagineering Story on D+. I was so Excited to hear about this series on YT that will continue on the above. Bravo' to All The Imagineers that Make This Awesome Magic. Walt would be very proud of you, All! 💖✨🏰
So...this is less pandering and more authentic than both Behind the Attraction and The Imagineering Story on Disney+, and it's free on UA-cam! 👏 I like hearing directly from the Imagineers themselves without dumbing down or blatantly making fun of Disney history like both Disney+ series did. Besides Josh's intro (likely him gunning for CEO since it's a very Walt-esque intro), it's refreshingly devoid of corporate double-speak! 🌟

It always baffles me when a Disney produced piece presents false information. Walt did not purchase the bird in the cage in New Orleans. Here is an excerpt from the book Walt Disney: An American Original by Bob Thomas about the “animatronic” inspiration: “He was fascinated with small objects, and he collected them during his travels to Europe. When Lilly, Diane and Sharon returned from a shopping tour of Paris, they found Walt on the floor of their hotel suite, surrounded by small animated animals. He was particularly impressed with a caged bird which moved its tail and beak and issued an intermittent song. He brought the bird to the studio and instructed one of his technicians, Wathel Rogers: “Take this apart and find out how it works.” Rogers performed an autopsy on the bird and discovered that it was operated by clockworks and a double bellows.”

Yep, haters gonna hate. For the rest, I'm sure they'll be pleasantly surprised once they see the cool upgrades.
Certainly an authentic destruction of classic Disney history while replacing it with a less popular ride.
@@myartistryisunbound less popular than a ride that hasn't even premiered yet? Or are you trying to argue that Song of the South is more popular than Princess and the Frog? Either way, your comment is seriously stupid, lol. You can have opinions, but this attempt to frame it as objective fact is just embarassing.
@@8LiterallyJustTheNumber8 its going to be less popular 100% guaranteed lol then we'll see who the stupid one is lololol

Tiana's Bayou animatronics are looking amazing!
Uhhh, the name is Tiana's Bayou Adventure
@@myartistryisunbound You're right, but I was mentioning the animatronics in the video!!
Wow… Like so many I’m sure probably have already stated, this video is truly amazing! I can honestly watch nothing else and be completely happy. Being able to see episodes like this really means a lot to me. Whether a career in Imagineering could ever become a reality or not for me, viewing episodes such as this at least can give me some kind of imagination being one of those incredible minds busy at work in the company creating some kind of magic that’ll amaze or possibly inspire others in some way to imagine and create something remarkable someday.
Thank you 🙏🏾
Incredible episode and thank you for such an beautiful look into immagineering
I love this so much! I’m so excited to see the behind the scenes of what everyone does in imagineering. I’m happy to see Disney return to form with Audio Animatronics and classic imagineering creativity. Makes me happy.
What a great behind the scenes look. I love the parks and seeing the completed version of things. But a look at this imagineering video gives me a whole new outlook and appreciation for the work that's put into making things to entertaine the guest.
4:54 Before we had a bear butt. Now we have a gator butt 😂
🐻
Would be really funny if that counted as one of the 17 animatronics on the new ride
Absolutely love seeing behind the scenes. I can’t wait to be back. I find Imagineering so inspiring!!!
Omg! What an amazing and high quality video! I knew Tiana’s was going to be an awesome ride packed with amazing animatronics
Bruce Vaughn came in like a white knight to save WDI!
Now we just need Joe Rohde and Tony Baxter back asap!
Louis is my favorite Disney character. He just wants to play with the big boys… 😔😔😔 I can’t wait to see him in person, I’m so exited for this ride!!! The mechanisms look brilliant.
It has been my sole focus to work in Disney Imagineering since I was 5 years old and that was 13 years ago. I am now getting ready to attend college/university to study robotics in the hope that I can build animatronics for the Disney parks one day.
The Josh Dimaro animatronic is impressive
Wow nice video... good day my friend full watching and full support.🙋💯
Awww way to go Matthew! Known him since he was a baby! Mrs. Brown! I know you're proud! ❤
I was skeptical of how good Tiana’s was going to be but after seeing this I am really really encouraged
She looks like her Mom for some reason
@@viaxxl the ride is supposed to take place after the movie, so it makes sense for everyone to be aged up a bit.
This is awesome, how exciting to work in Disney Imagineering. We spotted our daughter Sarah in the background, so proud of her!
These animatronics are incredible! This ride is going to be great! Thank you all for working so hard to make this amazing!
Thank you so much for sharing this with us all. What Disney started, and all the current cast continues to do, has inspired so many! Myself included - I aspire to do one tenth of what the Imagineers do - 1/100th even…. Ya’ll are amazing and have truly impacted more than you can realize!
The animatronic movement...just wow...never ceases to amaze me...
Just seeing Mama Odie move and talk haha what the hell O.O guaranteed I'll be on that ride multiple times just to see it haha
beautiful
It feels like we are in the right track again. Thanks for all you are doing to make the magic!
I never would've thought that a little mechanical bird would inspire Disney Imagineering.
Love the wink and nod of the animatronic that started it all coming from New Orleans and Tianas bayou adventure.
Louis looks amazing! Great first episode 😍
Hi theme park ogre remember me
@@noahbonds4803 Hey noah, good to see you here!
I love the hidden Mickey right in the middle of Louis’ chest under his skin
I just love a back story behind the scenes look at these department !!!!
Man tall those princess and the frog animatronics look amazing. Much preferable to the projected faces
WOW........this is amazing. The whole video brought tears to our eyes. Have already watched it numerous times. You can feel the Disney magic! 💞 😍
THIS is the content we have been begging for!!!!!!!
ROUGH DAY FOR THE TIANA'S BAYOU ADVENTURE HATERS. THOSE ANIMATRONUCS ARE DAMN BEAUTIFUL 😍😍
Also, those Droids coming to DL are simply fantastic. A long time coming but gonna look great. INCREDIBLE JOB, Imagineers, for everything 👏👏👏
Lets hope that the ride has more than a handfull of those animatronics.
Sick of ppl hating on her she is the best. ❤ sic of ppl hating period. ❤
Yeah, I’ve heard there are 6 animatronics. The rest is fog and projections.
I love The Princess and the Frog, but I’m not a big fan of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!
@@a5dr3where did you here that? We are suppose to get Tiana, her mother, mama Odie, 2 Louis animatronics and then some animals. That count will go higher than just 6. But I could be wrong.
It's beautiful yet terrifying at the same time some of these animatronics
I really wanna be an imagineer. I wanna be part of the Disney magic. It’s crazy what these people can create and think of.
As someone who was not excited when I heard Splash Mountain would be closing for this, I must say this peaked my interest. I’m so glad to see they are making several real animatronics.
AWESOME CONTENT ON UA-cam!!!!!! Brings me back to the days of DVD's and DVD featurettes. Or webisodes early 2000s. LOVE ITTT!!!
So amazing at everything they do, it’s a dream to be as brilliant as these people!
Thank goodness they have actual faces and aren't projected
It always baffles me when a Disney produced piece presents false information.
Walt did not purchase the bird in the cage in New Orleans.
Here is an excerpt from the book Walt Disney: An American Original by Bob Thomas about the “animatronic” inspiration:
“He was fascinated with small objects, and he collected them during his travels to Europe.
