I loved your US Crit content and got hooked to your channel at that point. I am looking forward to more racing content and really like the analytical approach of racing. Keep it coming! 👌🏻 PS. I think only a pilot, ATCO or a meteorologist would draw the wind direction with that kind of arrow 😂. Best regards, Swedish ATCO
@@jasperverkuijl haha. It would be a challenging race if the wind strength was as depicted in the video🌪️. Perhaps a standard for wind strength when drawing arrows for cycling videos could be one line per 1 m/s and a filled triangle for every 5 m/s 🤓🤣!?
Great race! Very heads up move to react to your main opponent letting his guard down. I'm really enjoying Crit racing footage at the moment, would love to see some sort of crossover between you and NorCal Cycling!
I own that McD's in the video and we HATE you thin bike racers!!!!! Listen, I'll give you five FREE Big Macs to eat right before your next race!!!! lol. Go America capitalism.
Nice finnish 🎉 And great commenting. I would like you to include the celebration, the podium and maybe the comments of your peers, like the red guy finishing 2nd because of the bidon fail 😅
I never went out. Just didn’t have time to do it much. (I promoted to new job position 2x in last 2,5 years plus got a second kid begin 2020) Now tings are a bit more stable I can continue

The course was great. Nice and flat 😂💚 when you show up thinking I'm just looking to stretch my legs 🍗 things go much better.. Great job 👏💪⚡ Don't go to the McDonald's 🍟 👈🤢
As always, hat off! I am always amazed by how serious are you when participating in a competition. Every detail counts. To share your knowledge with us is priceless. You are the reason why I am cycling now (and deciding to start my UA-cam channel) and I am looking to improve my technique, my power and my overall shape. Thank you, Jasper!
Good video, and nice to see another crit after such a long break! One thing to debate though, your corners. I think given the banking and your power output the faster line is a hybrid between the tighter line you were taking and the wider line others were. Often coming out of the corners you're spiking to 600+ watts (often as others started getting back on it as well and they must have been even higher). I think you could've followed their lines but continued pedalling throughout with a lower power variation through the corner. You clearly have the better awareness and handling, even compared to those in the breakaway, since you're inside their line and pedalling earlier than them. I think the spikes could've been mitigated. But I'm watching in my office and not on the bike in the moment. Any thoughts on it for this specific track? Also amazing attack timing
Hey thanks for sharing your thoughts. I can’t pedal trough the turn when we go at high speeds because the pedals will strike the ground…. So have to keep legs still and start pedaling after the apex…. The high spikes of power are also because of my higher weight (80+kg). And usually acceleration is quite high after a corner anyway.
Great video, as allways. Going to race myself this year, so going to put this one on repeat I guess! Although I will be glad to finish. Thats my goal 😅
Jo Jasper , zou je keer rondje willen trainen met mij , welke omgeving kom je vandaan omdat je Veenendaal zegt , wil meer leren over het koersen en jij lijkt me wel een ervaren rijder en goeie uitleg

Excellent ! So nice moves ! 🎉
Nice attack at the end Jasper, that guy made a bad move reaching for that bottle haha.
Impressing ride!!!
Loved this; it's sooooo along the lines of the YT channel Norcal cycling. You guys should team up sometime...
Yeah he’s far away!🤪

I usually skip McDonald’s but I like their ice cream cone

This race had no celebration and podium. It was more like a training
Wonder if the guy in red watched your video when you freeze his fatal mistake :) That was a good one.
Haha yeah he did. I know him. All race buddies from the club I raced 3 years ago 🤪💪🏻
Good to see you racing again. What changed that led you back to the racing?

What's up with number 35's pedalling at 11:20? Saddle too high?
Congrats for your victory. Wasn't sure if the second was salty 38:01

That dude you beat was not happy, he went by you shaking his head, he was not happy you attacked when you did!
Who drinks in the last 500m of a race😂😂
@@SuperYobo exactly.

He was probably most disappointed on his own mistake of drinking at the end.
I think he learned from it and next time will be more vigilant
JV, have you gone full tubeless? just curious, glad to see you back and smashing the American Style O racing . Crit racing rocks
Yes
Great video Jasper. Congrats on victory. I might have missed it but which bike did you use?
I was on the Yoeleo.
A cheaper bike that will be fine for crit racing. If it breaks I have less damage

Hey Jasper great to see you racing again and such inspiring commentary. Please keep them coming 👌🚴♂
Yep more coming for sure!
Chapeau Jasper
Congrats mate.
Thanks for very informative video.
All the best
Thanks 👍
Love the videos, thanks. Somone needs to tell you that it's a straight, not a straightaway. Straightaway means immediately, without hesitation.
Thanks mate.
Mmm. Ok. I’ve done 20years of BMX racing and the commentators (also native English) always talked about a straight, or a straightaway.
The finishing straight, It's never a finishing straightaway. Just watched your video from Eddy Would Attack - great video!
nice one Jasper. Just so surprised about someone going for his waterbottle in the last 200 m.!? cheers
🤷🏼♂️ he didn’t expect it I guess
Well done, Jasper!!! It is impressive how you have been improving over the years. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
This is material for at least two videos but hey im not complaining 😊

I was thinking about less popular topics: how to blow a nose, how to fart in the pace-line (standing/sitting), spitting where and how.
Al pretty self explanatory?🤣

Hey Thomas, zit je al bij een club? Ik kom uit Almere.
Bij een club kan je snel veel leren door met andere te trainen.
At 10C, I'd be wearing arm warmers and thin knee warmers.
Sort of what I’m wearing?
It depends on intensity a lot!
I seriously expected more from red guy :(
BUT VERY NICE VIDEO
🤣🤣 he blew past me just after the finish so too little too late haha
Maybe the bottle was a strategy (not for a drink) to allow someone to make a breakthrough and then sit behind... but Jasper was too strong.
Awesome video! Great commentary and info for newbies such as myself
Glad it was helpful!
