No matter how fit you are, getting on a bike can be a challenge. Uphill, cyclists can set the pace by mastering a few mental tricks and strategic riding techniques that allow them to break away from the pack. it is really tactical and not a big thing to do, it takes a lot of effort, and as history has shown, hard-working tasks are done only by great people, hence there are only a few cyclists who are considered to be the best climbers.
The selection has drawn controversy. but Alberto Contador is the only rider in the past twenty years who have been able to pedal like he is dancing. Even on the most treacherous inclines, the Spaniard displays an incredible acceleration and turn of speed. He is truly unique among climbers of the post-Armstrong era in that he is the only great climber. His victory at the Tour de France in 2007 was a turning point in his career, and he went on to become the best rider in the world in the years that followed.
Many people consider Van Impe to be the best climber who ever lived. You can expect Van Impe to compete for the number one spot on every list, even though the debate over who is the "greatest climber" will go on forever. The Belgian had an outstanding career; he competed in the Tour de France fifteen times, with an astounding eight times spent placing in the top five of the overall standings. Although he did win the Tour on one occasion, this is not the accomplishment for which he is best known.

Wtf. Where is the goat of climber "IL PIRATA" Marco Pantani???? Between 94 and 99 he make another sport on climb. In 2000 he won 2 stages on tour but he was at 70/80% of his best. C'mon guys
🏴☠️
Complete nonsense !! He mentioned il Pirata with a weird accent. 😕 Failed to feature the iconic climber.
Guy drugged!!
Are you joking?
All cyclists recognize that Pantani is the best climber ever and you didn't mention him?
Change your profession!
Where’s Sepp Kuss? He’s young but has already had an outstanding career
To be fair he’s not really had the chance besides the Vuelta to showcase his talent. He could just as easily be up there if he were to get out from under the shadow of Jonas. He is definitely an outstanding climber.

see you later 🤗🤗🤗 have a good life
No Pantani? Then this list is wrong.
Yup
Absulotely
Agree
Armstrong era is**when they were all on EPO** but it didn't take owt away from the Tour
My opinion:
5. Gino Bartalli
4. Lucien Van Impe
3. Marco Pantani
2. Charly Gaul
1. Federico Martin Bahamontes
80s 90s & 00s the decades of dope.
I am not surprised only a few from those decades making it to the list...
As if no doping today lmao!
Alberto Cortado...😂😂😂.
Man,have some respect for the Great Alberto Contador.
Ps: where is Marco Pantani...??!! The Greatest climber in professional cycling.
wait, where is Richard Virenque winning the polka dot jersey 7 times in the Tour de France.....................
Winning the Trikot does not mean you are the best climber. The best climber from the 90s - Marco Pantani for example never wear the trikot. Compareable with the Green jersey. Zabel nearly lost every Sprint against cipo.. Virenque was in my Opinion top 3-5 at climbing in the middle to late 90s. His best time. But there were at least always bigger dogs. Indurain, Pantani, Riis, Ullrich... After 98 He was not able to win or compete 1vs1 at the GC anymore. Then he went full focus on the Jersey and stagehunting. But he is still a legendary rider and a Hero from the past!
bahamontes, yes. The best.
Iban Mayo brooooo
Pantani,Armstrong,Heras,Contador,Rimenez.
Lance Armstrong should be there ;) 7 time winner of TDF and don't come with he was on the hot sauce ;)
he never won tho.
Wow no mercy or Pantano. List for top 5 is not correct
Merckx
G Ro G Ro G Ro. It is how you say it, please say it many times. G Ro. And Alpes d’huez…. Please try to make an effort
Pantani
BAHAMONTES
GAUL
BARTALI
VAN IMPE
FUENTE
Those old timers wouldn’t keep up with the athletes of today….
Honestly lucho herrera has to be the best climber
