I love this reaction the most, you guys pay attention to all the little details and get super excited about everything you see, though not in a "scream at everything that shows up" kind of way like RogersBase and Etika do, which I appreciate.

I know they've probably had their share of humble pie by now, but I just had to rub it in once more that Source Gaming gave Princess Daisy just a 20% chance of appearing in Smash Ultimate while being dismissive of her fans, yet here she is now, as a fighter. At least they were correct about Waluigi's 40% chance of returning in Smash...as an Assist Trophy, for the third time. ;-)

Also, Ninten would make a great Echo Fighter of Ness or Lucas! That way, we'd have all three MOTHER/EarthBound protagonists playable!
I think Ninten has a better chance of being an Echo Fighter.
(It's tricky to think of who he'd be an Echo of, since Mother doesn't have PK Flash or an equivalent to the Rope Snake...ah, just make him Echo Ness with a variant of PK Freeze)
….. then it would be a clone, when there is already another clone, and while I don't mind some new Earthbound representation, it would just be hard to justify having three variations of the same character type....

I think you misunderstand (or maybe I'm doing misunderstanding). Echo Fighters so far have been clones of characters that have their own unique moveset like Pit, Marth and Peach. Having a Echo Fighter of characters like Ness and Lucas who in principle are very similar in move sets with mild alterations, is a bit redundant.
Also having let's not mention spoilers about the events with Claus. I think Claus as a skin does the job well enough, personally, and I wouldn't want people spoiled about Mother 3 a game which people are waiting for the day it is officially released by Nintendo.

Waluigi would be a boring as fk character tbh. Would his moveset be based on Tennis, or Mario Party?
Not even I see him as a playable character, I only know him for the Mario Tennis games and I hope that he stays in there.
People like you want him for the meme, eventually only the minority would play as him once the meme tones down if he were to be a playable character. He's just a tall, skinny purple plumber holding a tennis racket, HOW APPEALING.
And keep your hopes down, he may not have appeared in the demo, but the same can be said for most of the playable cast and some other assist trophy characters. So just like most characters, he may be buggy, glitchy or unfinished.
Once he's fixed in the final game he'll be ready to appear as an assist trophy *and nothing else.*

Waluigi has been my man to go since he first appeared in Mario Tennis. Waluigi is the guy that i would win races with in (almost) all of the Mario Karts. With Mario Party I would allways pick Waluigi if i had the chance. Mario Strikers, Mario and Sonic on the olympic games, and so on. Waluigi has been there for me in all of the games he is in. Something about him makes me want to pick him all of the times I can. He might just be a insanely annoying character, you might even say that he is hideous. But I would still prefer him every time. In my eyes he is not just some kind of meme. I'm not the only one who sees that Waluigi isn't just some kind of meme. The majority of the people that want Waluigi in the game are not some brainless organisms. And just because I want Waluigi to be in smash, doesn't mean that I'm doing it for the meme. I'm 100% sure that I'm not the only one who thinks like this. The real Waluigi fans are kinda being ignored and almost everybody is only looking at the meme'rs. In conclusion, just because I want Waluigi to be in smash doesn't make me a meme'r. There could be a whole diffrent story going on, on why the person wants him in the game.
And I'm sorry if you are reading and see a grammar mistake i'm not the best at typing on my phone. And have a nice dat!
Don't get me wrong, I understand there's people who legit like him even if he might be considered the oddball of the bunch. And even people who actually want him in the game because they actually like him and/or share a nostalgic bond.
However, you have to agree that most people just do it for the meme unfortunately and those people are mostly as shallow as the people who only care for the latest trend, once it's over they move on.
Believe me, if Waluigi wasn't being forced by filthy memesters who demand that Sakurai puts him in the game I would be okay with him at worst. But just like Shrek I've grown to kinda have a double edged sword opinion about him.
So yeah, my apologies but when someone talks about Waluigi it's commonly an immature kid with low IQ who gets manipulated by the latest popular thing to do on the internet.
And to further show I don't dislike him as a character, I like him in Mario Tennis Aces with the weird and funny animations he has like when he moonwalks or when he puts a rose in his mouth and spins around.
Hell, I prefer Waluigi over Shantae. But that's just my silly personal opinion.

Cloud is still Japanese, but we're not sure about Roy. It would make sense to give him an English voice. I hope there's an option for voice language tbh.

I was pretty annoyed that they kept him Japanese in the last game when he had English games and an English voice actor. It felt like there was no reason to do so, aside from laziness (in my eyes at least).

Thanks to the stage hazard toggle so many stages can now be viable for tournaments!~ Too bad everyone assumes everything from face value... That's the one thing I hate, it's not like they can talk about every little detail, otherwise they would just make an actual smash dedicated direct.

I'm more hyped for Wolf than the Ridley, I don't dislike the character, far from it. He was exciting to see regardless and I agree Metroid needed some love, but I don't think I'll be playing as him.
These guys are not loud when excited it seems (like me), so maybe one of them were excited but screaming is just not their thing like Etika (which is not bad).
So yeah, keep in mind that everything comes down to subjectivity.

I spent most of that totally bewildered that male corrin was still default. In a game that's a love letter to fans, he still shoved male corrin in the spotlight hiding the actual corrin most people like in back, excluded from official art like the 'everyone is here' picture (that's like a giant middle finger if you ask me.) Glad everyone else enjoyed the smash stuff, but I've been raging about that all day and I still can't deal with it even now. This salt just won't stop flowing @.@

I know it's probably a joke, but the concept of an Echo Fighter is that they borrow the same move but have some properties changed. So an "echo game" would be basically a port or something similar.
But this game was built from scratch so while there are models and assets, the engine and everything is different which is good.
I get the joke so I'll give ya a plus for that. c:
Pretty clearly an enhanced port like people were saying, lot of the models, movements and stages are direct copy-paste from Smash 4, they just cleaned up and tacked on a lot of new stuff (or rather brought in old stuff) and made tweaks/added new mechanics on top of the Smash 4 build, enough to at least feel overall like a new game. Still excited for this, definitely day one buy here.
RedZeshinX by this logic every single smash game is a port. SSBU is not a port. Ports don’t add new mechanics & add AS MUCH content as they’re adding, plus this game is barely even perfected yet, who know how much they’ll add in the future. Just because all of the characters have the same moveset doesn’t make it a port. 90% of the Legacy characters in the jump from Brawl to Smash 4 have the exact same moveset, & by your logic that makes Smash 4 a port of Brawl. People really need to stop saying it’s a port because it’s really not.
I didn't say it was a port, I said it was an ENHANCED port. Most of what they showed was basically unchanged from Smash 4 (Megaman Final Smash, character models, stages, etc.) so it's pretty clear this game is just a continuation of Smash 4, not a completely new iteration that completely distinguishes itself mechanically, aesthetically, etc. from its predecessors.
Like for example, Overwatch has had new updates and changes over the past 2 years, imagine if they hadn't released all those updates throughout the 2 year time period but instead waited until today to release all those changes in one big bundle and rebranded the game as Overwatch: Ultimate. Is it a new game? No, it's the same Overwatch game with a bunch of additions from over a 2-year development period. That's basically what we have here, Smash Ultimate isn't a completely new game, it's just a continuation of Smash 4 with a bunch of additions and tweaks now ported to a new system, that's all, but there's enough built on the original base to feel and play like something new.
RedZeshinX enhanced port & a port is the same thing. Regardless of if it’s “ENHANCED” or not it’s still a port.
I say "enhanced" because if I just said "port" then it might be mistaken for simply an unmodified version of the Wii U game directly ported to Switch without any updates/changes/etc., when in reality it is a very much changed port of the Wii U game.
sefflikefeff - not sure how you explain the fact that frame for frame Megamans final smash is the same, then, along with character models, movesets and stages that are virtually unchanged or only slightly tweaked from the Wii U/3DS version.
