This is probably what Mozart intended the duet to look like. When I feel depressed or lonely, I will look for this video. And I will find my lost smile again.
The drive from my house to college is 45 minutes. The video is 2 minutes and 30 seconds long. So I listened to it 18 times this morning and 18 times this afternoon.
my favorite version EVER of this little gem - utterly perfect characterisation and singing of this, his voice has such a clear centred tone, too many baritones bark their way through Mozart, it takes a very specific voice to make the notes themselves shine out from inside the sound and Mr Renndell has that (so does his Papagena, she is just wonderful) - perfectly executed and meaningful appoggiaturas added as well
Not only her singing, but her smile and her energy, are overwhelmingly positive and highly contagious... and yet the little 'dance act' at the end... so beautiful... Uh! It makes me feel amazing... No doubt about it, this is the absolutely best performance of this masterpiece, ever! Wolfie would love it... Thank you both, so much, for this amazing performance... Absolute perfection!
I am glad to see for once everyone thinks the same as I - this is just amazing singing - i have never heard the voices so clear and the notes so transparent and perfectly balanced - you can actually hear, as well as all the joy and love, you can hear the music! this little gem is usually a comic highlight of the opera, but the way the voices inter-relate in this performance is like hearing the music for the first time. magical. i want these two in a full recording of the opera!

99.99999% faked joy, nobody has this much fun after repeating the same piece of music a few thousand times over and over. It's quite depressing if you think about it.
@@vytasffbismarck7001 may i ask if you do anything music related ? this is absolutely not true at all. it brings huge joy if you get the meaning of the piece, master certain difficult parts and if it works out as you intended. all of this needs thousands of hours and this makes it so special.
@pauljs8482 I spent about 20 years studying classical music before fully abandoning it for improvization. while we can agree there's certain moments of joy and acomplishement, I am sure you will not argue with me about the fact that by the time you mastered a classical piece and are confident to perform it on stage pretty much 99.999% of that joy is long gone. the high you feel on stage is more from the audience being there to applaud you and not the music itself that is soooo overplayed by then there's not much left to enjoy at all, you of course try your hardest to do so, but it's mostly fake at that point, and so is this over the top dancing gig seen in this video

Yes. A very too short life. When you recognize the development, he died in a phase, when he created greater and greater works. It is a great loss, that we have no music of an old and experienced Mozart.
Mozart to me is more than a passion, he’s a religion. Had he lived more than his short 35 years, how many more treasures would we have today? Just the work of his last year alone would have made the glory of any composer! My cat’s name is Papagena. ❤️😍🇵🇹

Going through UA-cam this evening, discovering lots of cool 70's rock, blues rock, and early metal music, and then this pops up on the list. It was absolutely awesome, and it totally made my evening. Thanks Mozart, and thanks UA-cam algorithm.

She's playing and enjoying herself still a kid at heart. It reminds me of what Jean Randeau said about the harp bringing out a childlike feeling. It's like Picasso, just a kid enjoying-playing, Seeing both like this makes me smile.
@@fini8874 I wasn't doing that anyway. You may want to reread more carefully.
