    To achieve better baking results use a pizza stone, granite round or cast iron plate under the baking pan.... then cooking from top & bottom will happen. This works for a few other dishes in this type of cooker.

    I have a method so that you wont have to flip it.
    Here it is:
    Put some boiling water in a big bowl
    and put your cake tray on the top rack with the extender ring. Set the timer to 15 minutes and you will have a cake which the under will cook and plus your cake will be soft and spongy because of the steam under it

    When baking cakes or bread in a halogen oven, I place a couple of heavy , earthenware dinner plates on the glass bottom and pre-heat the oven on high heat for ten or fifteen minutes before commencing baking. The heat from the plates helps to overcome the soggy-bottom problem.

      It does help and later on in my videos for Halogen oven, I have followed the same technique and it has worked 😊. This video is from the time when I started baking in Halogen oven so flipping the cake seemed to fix the issue at that time .

    I feel like this is underappreciated. I have a halogen oven and it has been tricky getting things to work just right in baking. When my batter was slightly more than what the instruction said, I would end up with the unbaked inside and I had to triz-ex to fully bake it.
    This halogen is such a great tool and it doesn't even consume much electricity!
    I am so glad for this video 👌. I hope to find another where you've baked a larger cake so I could follow through.

      Absolutely! Halogen oven is underrated. It is tricky but once you get the hang of it, it's absolutely amazing and handy. I am trying to make so many things in it and everything turns out great!
      Cakes with a bit runny batter are a little bit tricky as you just need tk bake them at a lower temperature for a bit longer and they are absolutely turning out perfect.
      Thank you for the comment 😊💓

    You have spoken the truth that there is a sagging at the bottom when it is cooked with Halogen oven. The remedy is also correct. I had to do a lot of permutation and combination to get my cake perfect. Good that you have clearly explained the procedure, especially the temperature and timing. Thanks

    Just a quick question ? In the video it is mentioned to Pre heat the oven for 15 min but we are using halogen oven here so do we really need to ? P.S loved the video

    • @Chefwithpalette
      @Chefwithpalette  3 роки тому +6

      Hi 😊. It's very good to preheat halogen oven as it just warms up the oven nicely and heat is distributed in the oven equally as we know that halogen oven doesn't have a burner at the base and only at the top. This preheating makes sure to warm up the whole oven before we start baking so the cake doesn't only starts baking from the top only but the heat will also reach the base .
      I hope I explained it well 🙈. Thank you for liking the video ❣

    Thats the issue with halogn oven no burner at base...what about pizza how cn we turn upside down puzza n bake it

    • @Chefwithpalette
      @Chefwithpalette  3 роки тому +2

      Hi anam. I know this is the only issue with halogen oven to have no burner at the base but I still bake everything in it and it's perfect. For pizza, once it's baked and you take the baking tray out of the halogen oven, slide the pizza on a hot pan on stove for 1 minute and you will have the perfect crunchy base.(Always bake the pizza in a baking tray with parchment paper on it so it's easy to slide once it's baked)Apart from this, the cakes and mini pizzas and breads don't need any burner at the base as they come out perfectly baked. I have a playlist of halogen oven recipes, you can see I make everything in it . If you want to know anything else,please let me know. I'll be happy to help 😊

      For the pizza, roll it out thin, bake it at low temperature to cook it through and slide it on a hot tawa when the top is cooked for just a few seconds to give it a nice crust. If this is bothersome than I would suggest to make small pizzas, you don't need to transfer it on a hot tawa as they cook perfectly

      @@Chefwithpalette Maybe try to cover it with aluminum foil. I don't know why and how it would make any difference but it worked for me, just make sure the pan was only filled half way from the top. Hi shiny!
      My first cake was like this, undercooked from the bottom but than I realised that it's the temprature that needs to be controlled. If you bake the cake at 180 degree Celsius, than start baking it at 165 or 170 degree Celsius. It will take a bit longer but it will be definitely cooked through. Like you can see in all my videos, the cakes are cooked through . Also always check with a toothpick , it should come out dry when you insert it in the cake. If it comes out wet, reduce the temprature and keep baking until it comes out dry.

    • @Chefwithpalette
      @Chefwithpalette  3 роки тому +1

      The temperature should be 170 degree Celsius and it needs to be cooked for around 35 to 40 minutes. You can always check by inserting a skewer in the cake and if it comes out with wet cake batter, turn the temperature down and let it cook until the skewer comes out clean. The key is to cook it on low temperature for longer time
