Thank you so much for this. This video brought happy tears to my eyes. My fiancé and I are currently planning a wedding for August ‘23, and I have been so miserable. We are both introverts, and I have been begging him for something small and intimate. It’s to the point where we are too busy trying to satisfy everyone else’s wants but our own. I explained to him last night that I would like to cancel our venue for 80 and have a small quiet wedding (similar to yours). I don’t have a good relationship with my parents, which in turn cut out most of my guests. I also don’t want us to pay for people I wouldn’t truly want there. We are about to lose our fat deposit, but better than stressing over a $30,000 show. You made me feel so much more balanced. Thank you 😭.
Omg thank you for sharing!! I’m sending you tons of love, I totally understand where you’re coming from - wedding stuff can get really stressful quickly 😭 I hope you and your fiance have the wedding you truly want. I’m sure it will be a beautiful day ❤️
Hope your wedding went well! I'm going small for similar in Spring of 2024. Why should I pay THOUSANDS extra to accomodate guests that don't appreciate it or are barely more than an acquaintance with a little blood relation thrown in? A standard house party is one thing, but a wedding just costs too much nowadays to be an open invite party like it was in the past or in other cultures. Thankfully most of both our families are pretty understanding about the realities of wedding planning - So we haven't gotten any grief about it(yet), but I have no problems standing my ground if someone tries to guilt me into an invite. If you're not even on my christmas shopping list, you're certainly not entitled to be on my wedding list.
Soo helpful!! Planning my wedding and want to keep it on the small side - your vibe is exactly what I want 🎉 I’ve saved this video to rwatch and take notes 😂😊
Thank you for this video. You really laid everything out for me. I've been super stressed and don't have time to plan for anything big, so we are doing a small wedding first and then a bigger wedding on our first anniversary. I feel late to planning because we only have 3 months until our date. lol. But everything will work out!
Thank you for sharing the exact costs! I’m currently planning a smaller wedding in Toronto and I keep wondering what is reasonable in terms of pricing. I understand why other people don’t share this information, but it’s really helpful. Loved this video
So glad your video popped up on my feed! My fiancé and I also got engaged in Nov 2020. After changing our minds numerous times we’ve decided to do a small ceremony/dinner with immediate family on a Wednesday in October. We’re currently planning and this was so helpful!
Love this! Glad your wedding turned out the way you planned it. Really like the idea of having a ceremony at Preto loft since I am only having immediate family at mine as well but will be hosting a reception for 90 guests.
When I got engaged, my family did not understand that one of the only ways to have a wedding 10K or under like this is to have an extremely low guest count! Our cost is going to be closer to the national average, but we’re planning on about 90 guests. But I feel good about some deals we are getting so far, like our photography is going to be about the same as this bride but for like 6 hours of work. It’s next year! So I still have to buy the dress and make a lot of the choices.
So true about the cost of florals! Floral savings actually directed a lot of our decisions. We have 28 guests. Micro saves you on food & booze, but the FLORALS would have still cost us THOUSANDS. -- (1) For a venue, we chose the gardens of our favorite museum. We reserved the most 'floral' spot for $650 1.5 hours, and booked an afternoon tea reception on the terrace of the museum café. ZERO DOLLARS on floral decorations. Still roses and greenery everywhere. Greenhouses and botanical gardens can be expensive, but try smaller museums, sculpture gardens, zoos [my friend had a gorgeous bamboo forest backdrop!], cafes with inner courtyards, and universities. -- (2) Skipping a bridal party saved $700 in bouquets and boutinnieres, and tons of stress. TBH that was only doable without ruffling feathers because of micro size. For the two of us, we paid $85!! -- (3) To get it down to $85, I got flexible on my bouquet's bloom types and dropped fiancé's boutinniere down to a single rose. Original quote was $250, but florist encouraged me to let go of super specific flowers and focus on the color palette, texture, and shape. We made substitutions that look almost identical and it's gorgeous.
You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this video! Haha, I kept coming back to your channel to check for updates on what you decided on. Thank you for this! I’m planning a weekday micro wedding with about 25 people in June. Super helpful to hear people share their experience doing something unconventional. Will you be sharing your wedding video?
aww thank you so much for coming back!! Best of luck with your wedding - it's coming up so soon and June is a beautiful month for a wedding! I included some of my favourite clips from our wedding video in the 'recap' part of this video (starts at 1:41 - removed the audio), but I don't think I'll be sharing the full version since my niece and nephew are in it! Want to respect the family's privacy when it comes to the kids :)
Would you consider sharing a bridal tutorial of how you did your makeup that day? I am planning a wedding just like this in Texas. Thank you for sharing exact costs, I feel like the vision/philosophy you took is similar to mine and it helps me feel grounded to seen how someone else planned something similar!
thanks!! SO happy you could capture our wedding, we're obsessed with the photos and you helped make the day so memorable and fun :) cheers to a great 2022 wedding season!
I will be doing my own makeup for my wedding this August. Can you do a wedding makeup tutorial. Maybe including the new products you would have used if you knew about them 🙂 thank you!
Love this, Congrats! thanks for sharing and the helpful information, I really love the floral frame with the dried flowers, where can i get the frame? did you glue the dried flowers to the frame? thanks for any feedback you can give
Hi! Glad it was helpful! For the frame, I found it at a Winner’s (in Canada) in the home decor section. And yes I actually used false eyelash adhesive glue to secure the flower petals onto the glass, and it worked perfectly since they’re so delicate. Just a tiny dab on each one :)
Your biggest cost will be catering. If you can cut down on that without serving your guests KFC then that will be a huge difference. Do a buffet or platters instead of a three course food drop, serve the cake for dessert with ice cream and fruit, pick cheap canapes or bring your own, do drink tickets or a package if you think people will go crazy with a tab, order a cake from a bakery not a fancy cake store- a cimple cake or cupcakes is fine, see if you can get a venue where you can self cater.
There were sonos speakers in our venue, so my brother linked his spotify to it and played a song we picked as I walked down the aisle! then he played an upbeat song at the end as we walked back up the aisle. We didn't do first dances or any dancing really, just went straight into group photos and videos after the ceremony and lounged around the venue before dinner :) very lowkey haha
Hi!! We booked directly with our restaurant of choice and they had an option to rent a small room, but it was really pricey. Since we only had ~12 people, we just booked a big table and they seated us in a cozy/secluded part of the resto 🥹 and we arranged the menu/courses ahead of time with them!
So happy to see another bride doing the dinner at a restaurant!!!

@@niceskindaysHow about, 10 to 30 guests?
Minimizing stress, levels by, regulating the, amount of, people coming, to one's wedding?

So many wonderful tips to take from this, thank you! How did you do music for the ceremony? Did you forgo first dances?

Beautiful. Love small intimate wedding. Wish it is easier to keep it small.
Thank you!!
How did you arrange the dinner?
Hi!! We booked directly with our restaurant of choice and they had an option to rent a small room, but it was really pricey. Since we only had ~12 people, we just booked a big table and they seated us in a cozy/secluded part of the resto 🥹 and we arranged the menu/courses ahead of time with them!
I’m doing the same thing!! 11/5/2023 ❤❤
Hope it’s the best day!! ❤️
Just curious to hear some of your regrets regarding the wedding!
Hi hope it isn’t too late to say congratulations to you. I’m really like your idea of the floral frame. Where you get frame from?
Thank you!! I got the frame from a craft/home store in my city. I’ve also seen them online on amazon!
The photo with the mask on is DAF.
8 k is a micro wedding?!!
Considering they only had 13 guests
I thought you were in the mall. 😅😂😂😂😂
This is so helpful. My fiance and I are planning our wedding very similarly and it's affirming to hear your experience 🤍
Can I buy the dress from you ? :) @niceskindays
