Match Game 75 (Episode 486) ("Zoomed In Orange Box") (Charles BLANK?) (WITH SLATE)

- This is quite the episode. This marks the first time that the orange box is zoomed in on the celebrities. We also have the slate for this episode aired by mistake from Buzzr. Charles BLANK is today's Super Match! Today's Panel: Johnny Brown, Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Trish Stewart, Richard Dawson, and Marcia Wallace
On a different Match Game show pasties and tassels WAS A MATCH !!!
Ira was really inconsistent as a judge.
That's what I thought. I came looking through these comments to see if someone had remarked on it.
It’s all a technicality. The pastie is the nipple cover, the tassel attaches to it. But I’ve seen matches that are far more dissimilar in the past. They really seem to pick and choose, and they’re not always the best at it. Ira must’ve been a bit moody the day this episode was filmed.
I completely agree, that was a BS call. Where else are you gonna hang tassels, from your knees? Hopefully they will invite her back.
It's always a treat to see Marcia Wallace in the sixth seat. Her humor really resonates with me. But I must say, MG has developed a really solid group of sixth-seat semi-regulars. You really can't go wrong with Fannie, Betty, Patti or Marcia!
What about Joyce?
@@rhyancoleman6462 Yes, absolutely. I enjoy seeing Joyce on the panel and I don't know why I forgot her name!
charles Nelson Reilly's humor was unique.
He's so much better than Gary!
Charles Nelson Reilly was unique.
So cute.
He and Dawson and Rayburn made the show.
@@sarahkinsey5434Pretty much anyone else in that seat was better. They should have rotated different celebrities and it would’ve been better. I usually skip his episodes.
they used to match pasties and tassels
If Buzzr has access to the slate openings, they should show them.
Heatwave..I agree.Makes the whole show complete along with ticket plugs that can have the word INACTIVE(like USA Network used to do)covering the address.
I would also love the to watch the bits in the middle when Gene says, "We are goig to hear some messages for you and will be back in about 2 minutes."
I like to know when they were taped.
I just love it whenever Marcia says _"Gene..."_
That is good
Nice echo effect for Johnny Olson there!
In a recent 6AM survey conducted in a recent survey of the other groups of people who is a little bit older
@@jacquelinellewellyn5010What?
Great challenger and Johnny is wonderfully funny! He should be on more often!! Richard, Marcia and Gene 💛💛👏👏
What a delightful show this was
Johnny Brown is still alive (December 2019). He is 82 living in St Petersburg Fl.
Sadly he's no longer with us
He passed away 3/5/22😭😞
I am glad Charles us back on the show. He replaced the grade school “ Radar from Mash” boy.
Thanks for posting!!!❤💖💛💚💜
H/H match update:
Joining our regular panelists this week are semi-regular Marcia Wallace (who's never been chosen for the H/H match), the returning Trish Stewart (who scored a match on her only go at the H/H), and "new kid on the block" Johnny Brown.
The week gets off to an unusual start. After striking out with Richard last time, the returning champion selects Brett...
... and Brett scores her 15th H/H match.
Here's the updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy:
Orson Bean - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts).
Gary Burghoff - 83.3% (5 wins in 6 attempts).
TIE: Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
TIE: Betty - 50% (15 wins in 30 attempts).
TIE: Fannie - 50% (8 wins in 16 attempts).
Charles - 45.7% (16 wins in 35 attempts).
Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts).
Brett - 39.5% (15 wins in 38 attempts).
Richard - 37.1% (96 wins in 259 attempts).
Bert - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts).
*These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 486, excluding the lost/missing episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")
So cool to see Cindy from OKC!
That zoomed in orange box is in preparation for Match Game PM
Harrison Brown..perhaps some PM shows in Buzzr's future?
george master they should air Match Game pm anyway I’m tired of seeing the same episodes over and over again
How does that orange box in the beginning work? Why did they zoom in for Match Game PM?
@@davelinn32115 From what I've read, the orange box was known as the flipper because it flipped around as the opening speil and closing credits.
Johnny Brown was Bookman on _Good Times_.
13:12 "Do we get Charles Nelson Reilly, slide it Earl ".
Trish Stewart is now the only surviving panelist of the week. RIP Johnny Brown.
no no no. if tie and scarf are a match, then so be Pasties & Tassels.
Gene Rayburn, has always been the best MC for a game show! He also has always been the best dressed man in Hollywood! On or off television, he always looked very nice. And he certainly knows how to wear a Suit !
Gene Rayburn was such a great fit for this game show back in its time…….
Bev is a great contestant. She's pretty, personable and isn't trying too hard.
omg Brett's pearls
my answers:
flea, undergarments, plunging, nelson Riley, fever, appendix, sea urchin,
Johnny Brown is still alive. At the time I type this comment, he turned 84 just 5 days ago.
Today is 4/9/22 I just looked johnny up he passed away 3/5/22😞😞😭
@@garfield2439 wow.
So glad that Gary is not on the show! And that Charles is back!
Brett Somers is so damned sweet. They just don't make stars like these any more. "Reality Stars" and "celebrities" of today cannot even compare.
11:15 Sit Down Hambone!
That was by far the weirdest slate I have *ever* heard.
Holy moly, Trish is gorgeous!
Good personality, too
I agree with the audience castles and pastries are the same thing
Booger from Good Times.
Bookman
Owens-Stanton, round 1, question B: "Went with the crowd on this one: HUMMINGBIRD." (Bzzt!)
Round 2, question A: "I'm not sure this is really a proper Yiddish plural, but I said her TUCHIS." (Bzzt!)
Question B: (just holding up the card, probably) SINGING SEA SHANTIES
Super Match, part 1: DARWIN
Part 2: STACK
Owens-Ross, round 1, question A: "And here I thought I'd let you down, Judy. BABY (RABBIT OR OTHERWISE)!" (Ding!)
Question B: "Well, we were both thinking in beachcombing terms, at least; I said a VERY LOST SEA URCHIN." (Bzzt!)
Did anyone else think Charles Manson for the Charles_________ question?
Yikes.
I thought of Charles Dickens.
I would think that pasties, and those other tassel things, would be a match because they both stick on don’t they? On the same place, but scarf and tie is definitely not a match.
Oh pin cushion 😂😂
Brett was the best❤
ROFL! Another fine episode! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Gene! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Charles! :0) ROFL! Lovey ya Marcia! :0) Love the entrances, silliness, voices, acting and the fun Gene! ;0) You have to, you saw me in the hall when you.. ;0) I just gave her a family warm greeting is all I did.. ;0) Now with 9 thousand dollar worth of dential work.. ;0) tomato! ;0) capon! ;0) When I was a kid we couldn't afford a turkey.. sparrow! :0) Charles is getting so smart in his old age.. ;0) hummingbird! ;0) Come out of your shell Gene you be a fine person.. ;0) I hate to hit my peak to early you know how I am.. cricket! ;0) Tassels! ;0) Pasties! ;0) G string! ;0) balloons! :0) Flushing! ;0) splashing! ;0) singing! ;0) hare! ;0) hat! :0) I am still a simple wonderful person.. ;0) coconut! ;0) hair brush! ;0) pin cushion! ;0) cactus! ;0) You going around the bend Gene, you going around the bend.. ;0) Don't toy with me again Gene.. You'll only hurt me Gene. ;0) I think I am excited! ;0)
RIP Johnny Brown☹️
Richard Dawson HO HO
Gene seemed a bit tipsy at the end when saying Goodbye.
Richard and Gene didn't drink.
When BRETT gets drunk, she tries real hard not to match the contestants. Shelby does very, very good at the Head to head match, whether she’s sober or not she doesn’t excellent job on that every time
Mrs. Krabappel!
As if this is the first time you've seen her
Brett is the only panelist on that show who genuinely hugged the contestant and was genuinely happy they won
Wrong again.
I need some Haggar slacks.
Does anyone else think Marcia Wallace and Fannie Flagg look alike? I always get them mixed up.
I don't. The two I get mixed up are Mary Ann Mobley (spelling?) and Jo Ann Pflug.
Very funny. Nope, I can't say that I do. However, I think that Joyce Bulifant and Patti Deutsch have very similar-sounding voices (neither one is on this week, though).
You need to get your eyes checked.
You need glasses pal. I feel sorry for you.
Fanny Flagg is a beautiful woman with red hair. Marsha Wallace is not a beautiful woman with red hair.
Hay maker and hay fever was my response but hay ride is also good
I really hate the Tiny Tom Thumb questions. Tom Thumb was an actual historical figure, and he was about 3 feet tall. They make him out to be almost microscopic! Instead of walking his dog, he walks his ant, or his flea, etc. I know, comedic license, but how do you pick an answer? just stick to Dumb Dora, please!
$$$$$$$Theygotpaid4thisshow$$$$?
Hay you!
They did.
Are any of these people still alive 48 years later? Dawson is gone. Brett 2007. Gene....dead. Marcia Wallace? Maybe, but older than her teeth.
Buzz kill
Dawson gone….Wallace gone….CNR gone…Gene gone….Brett gone….Johnnie gone……Johnny Olsen gone…..Trish Stewart still alive…she is 77 years old.
